Nothing beats grabbing an iced coffee on a lovely spring afternoon…read more I was in Jackson for some errands and wanted to check out the local coffee shop. It's been on my list for a while, but every time I wanted to go, it's been closed. Be forewarned that Boilerworks closes at 3 pm daily. The cafe sits in a quiet area at the end of Main Street, so it can be somewhat easy to miss. I ordered one of their specialty drinks, dubbed The Artemus, which is a hazelnut dirty chai with caramel sauce. There were no photos on Yelp showing the current menu and prices (until now as I'm sharing a photo of the menu), so I was a bit surprised by the cost of my drink. For a small town, I wasn't expecting to pay almost $10 for my chai. Note that I'm used to higher drink prices as I have plenty of boba, but none of my boba drinks have ever cost $10, however. I took it with a grain of salt and chalked it up to supporting a local small business. The nice lady/cafe owner made my Artemus for me super quickly, as I was the only customer. Her black Lab, which was adorable, was sleeping by her desk when I walked in. Upon receiving my drink, I took a seat outside at one of the metal stools. I didn't see the bookstore featured in the Yelp photos, so next time I'll have to return to check it out. The Artemus had a good flavor and thankfully, for the price, my cup was not full of ice (like some other big chain coffee place *cough cough*). Also, the iced drinks only come in one size (20 oz). To be fair, I think the drink is worth the price as it's definitely not watered down and it's taking me a while to finish it (currently typing this review while birdwatching on our property). All in all, while the prices are a bit steep, I would still recommend Boilerworks Cafe, and it's conveniently in downtown Jackson right off the 49.

Their new little nook is so quaint, love the room across the way for puzzles, books and gathering. The owners are always so nice. I like to avoid the chain coffee spots where I can and Boilerworks is my first stop before strolling Main St.

The place used to be a Dennys, so booth seating was everywhere. We were greeted by a very friendly…read morehost. The waitress was very attentive and very sweet. The menu was extensive; I wished I had a bigger stomach to order more. After placing our order, the waitress offered us a complimentary soup. It was so yummy. You could hear our spoon scraping the bottom of the bowls. We started with chicken samosa. The order came with 2 large crispy, flaky, and delicious fried treats. The stuffing was well spiced. Remember that Ratatouille scene with the critic's flash back? This samosa did that for me. It transported me to my good friend's home where her aunties were in the kitchen making these pockets of culture and traditions. Highly recommend! I ordered the chicken biriani. It was flavorful. The rice was fluffy. The spice level was on target (I ordered mine medium heat). My daughter ordered the chicken curry. She loved it. She kept saying "This is yummy" the whole time. My husband ordered the lamb curry spice level spicy. It cleared his sinus headache :) apart from it being spicy it was also very tasty. We also ordered garlic naan: garlicky and fluffy. So, if you happen to be passing through, I suggest swinging by. If you happen to live close enough to make your way to Taste of Himalaya, I suggest get in your car and try this place. The drive will be worth it. I think the locals know what a gem of a place they have right in their backyard. I saw several to go orders while we were there. TLDR: Service: 5 stars Food: 5 stars

They offer a huge variety of flavorful veggie and meat dishes. Their saag paneer, veggie korma, butter chicken, and naan continue to be our faves. Tip: They bake the naan fresh after you've placed your order. You may want to wait 5-10 minutes before heading to the buffet. Otherwise, the naan arrives after you've finished your first plate.

The tuna was simple, I'm not even sure if there was mayonnaise in it. Served on sliced sourdough with red onion and cheddar cheese, i found it deliciously satisfying. The sandwich is stuffed with tuna and I could have ordered a half sandwich and it would have been enough to stuff my belly. My Hubs ordered the vegetarian sandwich with potato salad on the side. He finished his sandwich, which was stuffed with lots of fresh veggies and sliced provolone cheese. He enjoyed it to the last bite! We were split on the potato salad. My Hubs liked the sweet pickles and the freshness of the chopped celery added to the recipe. I prefer zero pickles in my potato salad, but still enjoyed a few bites. The texture of the salad was pleasing and the amount of mayonnaise was very balanced. The soup of the day was, chicken and dumplings. I was disappointed that I wasn't in a place to order a bowl to take away. Next time for sure. The service was friendly and efficient and everyone appeared to be enjoying their food choices. The satisfaction was evident by the smiles and customer chatter coming from the outside and inside tables. Good job!
