Service is fast and prompt, everyone is nice and efficient. Donuts are transferred over from another local shop. Coffees and drinks are solid and reliable. Plenty of nearby parking adjacent in the strip mall lot. Walking distance to the Murieta Inn/Spa if you're looking for something for breakfast without going to their formal sit-down restaurant. I've been here in the past, about 2-3yrs ago, and we were not impressed. While the food wasn't bad, the service was poor, wait times were high and there was never anywhere to sit and eat as a family. It felt like a grab n go place and wasn't very welcoming. I was coerced by a friend to give it another try since it was under new management and I was pleasantly surprised. The menu is still basically the same, but the service is much better, wait times are lower, and they've added more tables and chairs. It still isn't the breakfast diner our town wants/needs, but it's much more enjoyable to go grab breakfast here now. read more

My kryptonite when it comes to discovering new, local businesses is coffee shops. The Local Bean, located in a quiet strip of shops in sleepy Rancho Murieta, was a place I'd passed on many an occasion but only recently had the pleasure of trying for the first time. My father suggested we meet there for a coffee while we were in the area. I went with a Chai tea Latte and a blueberry scone from their pastry counter. The scone was rich and delicious; the drink well-made, piping hot, creamy and foamy. The whole place is filled with small-town charm - locals gathering for leisurely morning chats, friendly folks behind the counter and an overall laid-back vibe that encourages you not to rush through your day. They have a nice patio out front which is a perfect place to sip your joe while soaking in the morning sun. I don't live close enough to do this often, but I know this will be my coffee spot of choice going forward whenever I'm back in Rancho Murieta. read more

Stopped here while waiting for my son to go air soft shooting and needing coffee. They had plenary of menu options. I ordered a caramel macchiato and and eggs, potatoes and gravy plate. They both were really good and the staff was very polite and nice. It has that local feel, since almost everyone that walked in knew each other. The LBC has been a good option for breakfast in the past, but has been under many different owners over the years. The most recent iteration has missed the mark. Many in the neighborhood were happy that the new owners, who own a bakery nearby, were taking over the LBC. I have tried 4 items since the change and have been disappointed with most. The first item I tried was the large breakfast burrito, which was my fave from the prior owner's menu. Unfortunately, I got a burrito the size of the small (not sure if this is their "large" or if they got the size wrong - still charged for a large though). They also added bell pepper in the burrito, which the prior owners didn't and the new owners didn't show as an item in their burritos. The second item I tried was the Americano, and it was awful. Very weak and watery. The third item I had was their breakfast sandwich. I ordered mine without cheese, but after I got home and opened the sandwich, it had cheese. I ordered sourdough, but it was hardly toasted. The rest of the sandwich tasted fine, but getting the order wrong is a sign of bad service or bad listening. Finally, the fourth item I tried was the chocolate covered old fashioned. This was the best thing I've had to date. Many rave about their baked goods, which seems to be their wheelhouse, but the rest, not so much. Maybe they'll get better overtime but I am not sure I'll go back to find out. read more

Given the severe lack of choices in Rancho Murieta, a place I did not know of until this past weekend, I have to give this place at least a B+ for effort. Their coffee isn't great, in fact I'm even tempted to take Starbucks over this, but frankly there isn't one so this is better than the stuff you can get from the machine at Chevron across the street. I don't get me wrong, I like it! it's very cute, quaint, and open at 6am when you're waiting out your turn to go for a nice hot air balloon ride about 3 minutes away. They have a nice selection of "freshly baked" pastries, and the whole place is just cute. Very homely. AND they have soy milk! Score! read more

Do you ever wake up and think "where can I find true happiness?" well look no further because you have found it. This cafe is true happiness, the customer service is out of the world. Was greeted by a beautiful young lady upon entrance who made me the best croissant sandwich I have ever had in my entire life, just perfection. I didn't get a chance to ask for her name but she did a phenomenal job and deserves a huge raise. I also tried one of the iced coffees and yummy yummy in my tummy. Came in a few days ago for brunch on a midday commute. I got a panini that I couldn't bring myself to finish and later got a bowl to substitute it. BOTH came out with raw egg and I mean RAW EGG WHITES!!! I've been here quite a few times before and since it's one of the only breakfast spots nearby my house but every experience has left me dissatisfied. Eggshells in food is definitely a reoccurring issue but understandable, it's easy to do accidentally. But raw eggs are unacceptable. I'm not sure if they had a change in management as well but the new staff is a little snippy. read more

This is one of those sorts of places you see in smaller towns, as The Local Bean is the village cafe, ice cream parlor and wine bar all in one. I have come here off and on, usually whenever I am visiting Rancho Murieta and want an espresso drink instead of a home brew. Overall, it is a pretty ok coffee shop, not great, but perfectly fine, and a place where many people in the local neighborhoods come to sit around for a bit in the morning, read the news, or chat with friends. And really, that is the biggest part of the appeal here, is the sense of it really being a locals' sort of place. The coffee is decent, and does its job of perking you up in the morning. They have a selection of typical cafe drinks, blended beverages, and milkshakes, since as mentioned before they are like the neighborhood ice cream parlor, too. There are a few cases with pastries and other food items like quiche or sandwiches, and they offer some breakfast and lunch entrees. Parking is good, prices are inexpensive, and the staff are exceptionally friendly every time I visit, being not unusual to hear them greeting or chatting with their regular customers. I appreciate these sorts of places, where it is a local business, not a chain, and it is really part of the community. read more

I'm sorry to say this was a complete waste of money for me . $38 for breakfast food that was literally straight from a microwave, it had to have been . The biscuits and gravy were in a black little plastic dish like the jimmy dean brand they sell in the frozen section of grocery stores . The scrambled eggs looked like a microwaved egg barely cut up with a knife , mostly white and hard . The pancake was so chewy it had to have been microwaved as well. The only palatable item was the bacon which was mediocre at best . The food was all served on paper plates with plastic silverware , which may be due to covid restrictions , I can understand that . So upset by the complete waste of money and the obviousness of being served microwaved food . Even the ham and egg croissant was microwaved because the cheese was stuck to the paper plate it was cooked on , had to peel it off the plate !! This was beyond terrible . I even tipped $3! Instead of throwing it out, I at least took it home for compost or to feed my worms . Nice soil in the future will make me feel better about the almost $40 loss. I guess this ended being a donation now to help a local business. Thumbs down !!!! read more
