I had the confirmation which they sent me and they made a mistake on their end and double booked the room, so we were displaced from having a room for Christmas. We called around and found the Castle Inn and spoke with Debbie who had a room available and saved our Christmas from being ruined. She gave us a discount for having to be stressed out by the other business which was sweet of her. She made us feel welcome and we loved our stay at her place. We loved having the balcony overlooking Main Street and seeing all the beautiful lights. We had the best stay at the castle inn and will definitely be back. Thank you for your hospitality, Debbie. We reached the hotel around 10pm. Noticed that almost all stores and restaurants close early in Helen. But the check in staff was very helpful. She gave us an area map and list of things we could do. Also suggested a pizza place...which was the only place open at that time and would deliver. Our room was neat and clean. The hotel had complimentary breakfast "covid style". Meaning, you pick the items that you want from what they have available. They had quite a few selections. Cereal, juice, fruit, yogurt, nutri bar and cinnamon rolls. In hot breakfast they did not have anything vegetarian. They did have plain biscuits though. You tell the staff (who is wearing mask and gloves) what you want and she makes a tray for you. You can either eat in the dining area or take it to your room. The hotel seemed to follow the CDC guidelines for Covid. They do not enter your room for cleaning everyday (how it used to be before covid). If you need anything you just call the front desk and they bring it to you. Plus every day when we came back to the hotel in the evening...they left a care package with a towel, napkin, soap, toilet paper, etc. We didnt really had to ask for anything. The staff was helpful. Warm, kind, genuine hospitality from the moment you walk in front desk, dining room, spa, everyone. You immediately feel cared for. The room was spotless ! No dust in sight and very spacious. Double sinks (which we love) , and a cozy fireplace. It was exactly what you want when you escape to the North Georgia mountains. Even though the spa is in a small mountain town, it is not lacking at all. The providers are genuinely skilled and intentional in their care. I had both a massage and a facial. The service is always great. If there is anything a little off, they take care of it right away. The check in is outstanding since Champagne is waiting for you. The floor in our room did not feel clean. Behind and under visible areas of furniture I could see debris, and one night there was a cockroach crawling up the wall in our room. There was also a dirty Q tip in the hallway, and overflowing garbage cans in the hallway, that stayed like that from the time we checked in (5pm ish) until the following morning... I surprised they didn't have any staff checking the floors to clean more frequently. - Breakfast staff was keeping an eye on refilling hot food, but I didn't see them cleaning tables or refilling the other items. Before my treatment even started she mentioned an up charge for deep tissue. During my treatment she burped two times and her massage was far from relaxing her massage etiquette as a therapist was poor and as it was my birthday it sort of ruined my whole experience there, which was a shame. I did reach out to the B&B and provided my feedback, was told the spa manager (Tanya) would reach out but she never did. Heard back from the B&B manager and she told me the owner would give me a $50 dollar credit to my treatment the next time! We live almost two hours away so will not be planning on using that any time soon. To be honest after that experience I would not go back to the spa. We stayed in one of the themed cabins at the top of the property. The cabin was clean, spacious and in great working order. The bed was very comfortable and we felt right at home. Breakfast was prepared fresh every morning and featured some great local foods. This little bed and breakfast is within walking distance to most everything in Helen.
