We reached the hotel around 10pm. Noticed that almost all stores and restaurants close early in Helen. But the check in staff was very helpful. She gave us an area map and list of things we could do. Also suggested a pizza place...which was the only place open at that time and would deliver. Our room was neat and clean. The hotel had complimentary breakfast "covid style". Meaning, you pick the items that you want from what they have available. They had quite a few selections. Cereal, juice, fruit, yogurt, nutri bar and cinnamon rolls. In hot breakfast they did not have anything vegetarian. They did have plain biscuits though. You tell the staff (who is wearing mask and gloves) what you want and she makes a tray for you. You can either eat in the dining area or take it to your room. The hotel seemed to follow the CDC guidelines for Covid. They do not enter your room for cleaning everyday (how it used to be before covid). If you need anything you just call the front desk and they bring it to you. Plus every day when we came back to the hotel in the evening...they left a care package with a towel, napkin, soap, toilet paper, etc. We didnt really had to ask for anything. The staff was helpful. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Warm, kind, genuine hospitality from the moment you walk in front desk, dining room, spa, everyone. You immediately feel cared for. The room was spotless ! No dust in sight and very spacious. Double sinks (which we love) , and a cozy fireplace. It was exactly what you want when you escape to the North Georgia mountains. Even though the spa is in a small mountain town, it is not lacking at all. The providers are genuinely skilled and intentional in their care. I had both a massage and a facial. The food on-site was genuinely good and they have one of the only espresso martinis in town. Ask for Daniel if he's there... he said he makes the best one in Helen, and I believe him. The service is always great. If there is anything a little off, they take care of it right away. The check in is outstanding since Champagne is waiting for you. Always helpful, friendly and happy to see us. As someone who has been to many hotels with a group, I can honestly say this one is the best for us. They even remember us from the year before and welcome any of our new people! Can't beat that. Can't recommend this high enough if you are looking to book for group. The floor in our room did not feel clean. Behind and under visible areas of furniture I could see debris, and one night there was a cockroach crawling up the wall in our room. There was also a dirty Q tip in the hallway, and overflowing garbage cans in the hallway, that stayed like that from the time we checked in (5pm ish) until the following morning... I surprised they didn't have any staff checking the floors to clean more frequently. - Breakfast staff was keeping an eye on refilling hot food, but I didn't see them cleaning tables or refilling the other items. My husband had scheduled a massage as a gift for that afternoon. This was probably the worst experience I have had. The therapist was poor in her execution, style and even manner. Before my treatment even started she mentioned an up charge for deep tissue. During my treatment she burped two times and her massage was far from relaxing her massage etiquette as a therapist was poor and as it was my birthday it sort of ruined my whole experience there, which was a shame. I did reach out to the B&B and provided my feedback, was told the spa manager (Tanya) would reach out but she never did. Heard back from the B&B manager and she told me the owner would give me a $50 dollar credit to my treatment the next time! We live almost two hours away so will not be planning on using that any time soon. To be honest after that experience I would not go back to the spa. The staff was fantastic and very friendly when we checked in. The owner showed us around and walked us through the grounds to make sure we knew where everything was. We stayed in one of the themed cabins at the top of the property. The cabin was clean, spacious and in great working order. The bed was very comfortable and we felt right at home. Breakfast was prepared fresh every morning and featured some great local foods. This little bed and breakfast is within walking distance to most everything in Helen. While things were eventually resolved, it wasn't a smooth experience. Lesson learned: book through the app and document names when forced to book direct. With 17 years of history with Marriott--and consistently positive experiences when booking through the app--this situation was an outlier. This is not a Marriott review, but this particular location and experience. Given the issues I faced and the overall quality of the hotel, a two-star rating is all I can offer.
