Honestly, the cutest place for a weekend getaway. Very romantic, and spacious! The owner is super sweet and accommodating! It is very walkable to down town :) Excited for my trip back !

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Great location. We parked and walked downtown daily! Terry, Darlene and Sheila exceeded our expectations! So friendly and make you feel right at home! The breakfast is something we looked forward to every day! You will only get homemade, fresh food! Terry treated us to homemade banana pancakes one day and the next pecan! Fresh fruit! CLEAN! We will be back! You don't want to miss this place! Thank y'all for everything!!! You made our vacation perfect!

Dear black forest b&b I just wanted too let you know how happy my heart and and sou felt while I stayed with you. A review in my mind would not do justice so instead I write you a letter of thanks. Even though there were many towns to stop at along the way during my adventure I found myself in helen ga. I followed my nose to the smell of sweet fresh cut hay and virgin river water and ended up here. A refuge in the night like a warm and welcoming hug. The staff was amazng, in fact I wouldn't even call them staff more like family. The house even seemed to say hello as the 70yr old wooden floors creaked beneath my feet as I entered the house. My room was simple (and exotic with a hear shaped tub) but clean and charming. Something I would hope to find at a grandparents house. The bed itself was something from a dream. Soft and fluffy, and like a cloud. The fire place made my stay perfect as it let off a warm glow through the night that gave just enough light to see that there was no one there when I heard footsteps at 2am. In the morning the nice gentelman at the front made me a fresh cup of joe and even started chow early for me. As I sit on the porch listening to the lovely waterfall I find myslef not wanting to depart this calm and peafecul place. There's nothing better then wet moss, waterfalls, and coffee at 6am. Thank you for making my stay wonderful. I will be back. Sgt H US Army P.s. whom ever buys this b&b please take care of it. its a true diamond in the ruff. I never checked to see if they had wifii because I was to busy out wondering the town. The give military discounts so the overall price after the discount was good. Compared the the run of the mill hotels in this town this is the best.

Notice the beautiful painting on the wall, it really opens the room up !

We could…read moreeasily walk to the Festhalle and down to town to walk around and eat (which was helpful because parking is limited and costs money if you're parking at the Festhalle). The owners here are lovely and very helpful! Sleeping accommodations: we stayed in the Blue Room and loved it because it has a private entrance, a fireplace, and a private bath. We could even bear the fun German music roll up the hill through our bedroom window, but it wasn't too noisy that we couldn't fall asleep! There's also parking on the premises. Breakfast accommodations: the owners made us an elaborate breakfast each morning, full of coffee, Orange juice, yogurt, eggs, toast, homemade quiche, and the best: their homemade applesauce -- which tasted like fall! Activities: we really enjoyed walking the town. There aren't many authentic German stores, mostly souvenirs shops, but there's a great Christmas store and Cuckoo clock store worth visiting. We were recommended Bodensee restaurant for authentic German food and we were not disappointed! It was delicious. The Troll Tavern is also really nice for a spot right on Chattahoochee River. The owners also recommended some hiking trails, so we did that one of the days and really enjoyed it. Habersham Winery is just down the road and also a great little spot to taste some wines and take a glass with you as you explore a trail behind their winery that takes you to a lovely overlook spot. And of course during October and September, going to the Festhalle for beers, German music, huge pretzels, and fun is a must! Apline B&B is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway and even to enjoy all the Oktoberfest festivities.

You could certainly go in, run around, look at the castle in 15 mins, but we wanted to understand the art, the reason behind the build and just learn a few things. Santa was there for pictures and it's neat that you can rent a room IN the castle. We weren't able to view those rooms but, I believe there are pictures online. Maybe we will come back and stay! You can't see the castle upon arrival, they take you in a bus up the hill so, I liked that it didn't ruin the surprise. They had little Tiaras for purchase and they give you a small prize when you complete the word puzzle they hand you. And event here would be cool. It would also be great if they had more drink or snacks for purchase but imagine that's in the works!! This was a costly project so, it will only get better!

Their location causes some logistical issues you don't have at most faires as there is no parking field. Most people have to park offsite and catch a free shuttle to the bottom of the mountain, then they drive you up to the castle. For those of us in full costume, the shuttle buses do add a level of complication we aren't used to but is definitely worth it If you like the Renaissance faire type events you need to go check this event out.

The floor in our room did not feel clean. Behind and under visible areas of furniture I could see debris, and one night there was a cockroach crawling up the wall in our room. There was also a dirty Q tip in the hallway, and overflowing garbage cans in the hallway, that stayed like that from the time we checked in (5pm ish) until the following morning... I surprised they didn't have any staff checking the floors to clean more frequently. - Breakfast staff was keeping an eye on refilling hot food, but I didn't see them cleaning tables or refilling the other items. Also the TV in the breakfast area was playing Fox News which I felt wasn't very family friendly considering this is a family oriented hotel. Not sure if I'd stay here again.

Pros: Location in town Parking was good Check in and out was easy Room was clean Bed was comfortable Cookies! Shampoo and conditioner bottles were empty, too late to notice or correct when in the shower Balcony handle was busted Light fixtures were busted USB charging ports were broken in dresser Curtains were broken and actually fell off the door View of the River was not as pictured online (we were on the 1st floor) Despite the cons we would likely stay again but book a lesser room and check everything first.

I was worried it might be too small, but it was just right! I stayed in the loft bedroom's king sized bed and my friend stayed on the queen sized sleeper sofa downstairs. We had perfect timing and got to see the leaves changing color and enjoy the cool weather (being from South Florida these are both unusual!) We cooked some of our meals at the cabin in the well-stocked kitchen. There is a full fridge, stove/oven and a full set of dishes, glasses, cooking utensils and silverware. It got cold enough that we made hot apple cider and lit the wood burning fireplace. It was also nice to have the hot tub to soak in after a day out on the town in the cold. The nearby town of Helen is an adorable Bavarian Alpine Village with great little shops and restaurants. We also drove to nearby Dahlonega to check out the shops and artists there. We were able to go horseback riding at the Sunburst Stables in Clarkesville and we also took a trip to the North Georgia Zoo in Cleveland - I highly recommend both! I can't wait to come back in the summer to enjoy some more outdoor activities like tubing on the Chattahoochee River or boating on Unicoi Lake at Unicoi State Park.
