The service felt inattentive, and I definitely didn't feel welcomed. I usually enjoy checking out local bars because they're supposed to offer better service and a more relaxed atmosphere than the casinos. Unfortunately, this experience was the complete opposite. The short rib, was absolutely amazing. The short rib was so tender, and each brussels sprout was a literal flavor bomb. The brussels sprouts I've had at other places have flavor only on the exterior, whereas the brussels sprouts here play a different game. The short rib is served in a really big portion. Though it may look dark from the photos, there are actually three big pieces. I loved loved loved the sauce; there's a sweet tangy taste to it, though it reminded me a lot of BBQ sauce. This short rib was a win. Chefs kiss. The truffle lasagna was terrific; so much sauce in between the lasagna layers. I could absolutely make out the truffle flavor in this dish. However, I recommend eating this dish quickly, as the lasagna stiffens really quickly. Thirty minutes after it was served, I went it to take another bite, and it wasn't as good anymore. The ceasar salad +beef is a great choice for a light but filling meal when you're currently on a healthy diet. Each dish here comes in giant portions, but even after you finish this salad, it won't feel too heavy on your body. I think it's because Washoe is really light on the dressing levels; perfecting the amount so it doesn't overtake the fresh flavor of the greens or leave the salad bland and insipid. However, the beef was a bit too well done and on the firmer side. The first time coming here, I was totally shocked to find out that the food they served did not match the relaxed and informal vibe the setting sets up. Not a bad thing at all. The last time we were here, the place was packed and we had to wait for our reservation table. The second red flag was sitting on the uncomfortable folding chairs as the chairs they used to have were traditional high back wooden chairs. Gone also are table cloths, now you have a bare table. And the menus now are on a piece of paper. The wine selection is small, and they don't list wine bottle prices, but only per glass cost. I think again this is due to their change in what style restaurant they are now. So when I specifically ordered a bottle of wine, a glass came. The wine menu like the whole menu is small. We got two appetizers, the pork bell egg rolls and the potstickers. I have a rule of not ordering Chinese food at non-Chinese restaurants, but I ordered them anyway. The rolls appeared house made and were cooked perfectly tasty. The sauce really complimented them. The potstickers were store bought with some black sesame seeds sprinkled on top. They were eatable but nothing special. For dinner my wife got the bulgogi lettuce wraps. Very tasty and hot. If you like it hot, these are for you. I got the wild boar schnitzel, but this had problems. One it wasn't seasoned. Schnitzel needs to be seasoned prior to batter, and the flour mixture should be seasoned too. It So it was bland. It was cooked very well. The sause the placed on it however was bland and didn't add to the dish. Schnitzel should be able to stand on its own, and placing a gravy on top makes the schnitzel coating mushy. I'd consider placing that on the side and serving it with some mashed potatoes. The dish comes with no sides. So all of that was $170. The value on this meal was about $100.

Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday until 3. We both tried the blackberry mule mocktail which was good but tasted quite heavy on the ginger beer. I couldn't decide between the breakfast pizza and poutine fries so I got both. The poutine fries were on the happy hour menu during that time. The breakfast pizza was quite large and fennels meant for at least two people but it was nice and hot and cheesy and I loved the addition of the egg but wish it came with more than one. It also needed a sauce of some kind, ranch or salsa or even hot honey. The poutine fries were delicious! I got it with mushroom gravy and haven't been able to stop thinking about them. I was unable to try the stuffed avocado and Baja bowl that my sisters ordered due to my avocado allergy but she really enjoyed it. The service was prompt and our waitress was really nice. The inside was so cute and you do have the option to sit outside. Can't wait to back and bring my husband, the menu has so much I want to try!

The special was a Prime Rib breakfast burrito which both of the people I came in with ordered while I ordered the breakfast BLT. The Prime Rib burrito was so tender and juicy with a fried egg in the middle, definitely a special item for sure. Servers were all over the rest of the patio getting food, drinks and checks. I was a server for over 10 years, so I notice things. If there's delays, just stop by your section and communicate. No reason to ghost several tables and I'm certain by his uniform that our guy wasn't the manager on duty that evening.
