I went from thinking my swing was "fine" while struggling through terrible rounds, to actually feeling confident on the course--and even beating my friends now . Danny took the time to start with the fundamentals and rebuilt my swing the right way. He corrected my grip, stance, and overall swing mechanics, explaining everything in a way that was easy to understand and apply. In only two lessons, I learned the core skills for both my irons and driver, which completely changed my game. I'd say I went from beginner (borderline horrible!) to a solid intermediate in a very short time. I'm incredibly grateful for the instruction. I'll be practicing the drills Danny taught me and will definitely be back when I'm ready to take my game to the next level. If you're on the fence about golf lessons, take this as your sign to invest in them. Just two lessons gave me the fundamentals that will be the foundation of my game moving forward.

He's extremely knowledgeable, and listens to the issues I have on the course. We started off with the basics like grip and stance, and have moved into more technical areas. From my driver, woods, irons off the mat to chipping, putting, and sand practice, he's covered it all. As well as course strategy. I'm excited to see how much lower my handicap will get after another year. Thanks Troy!!

**Second to None!**…read more Troy strikes the perfect balance between coach and expert. He takes a pragmatic yet highly tactical approach to helping his clients improve their golf game, always meeting you exactly where you are without ever making you feel anything less than capable. From my very first lesson, he helped me identify a grip that fit both my comfort level and natural style. From there, he built a strong foundation that we could continue developing over time. He quickly identified key adjustments in my swing -- from overextension in my backswing, to improving hand rotation through impact, to extending properly toward the target in my follow-through. While these may sound like small refinements to a seasoned golfer, they've been absolutely transformational for me and have helped lower my handicap by more than 10 strokes. What truly sets Troy apart is that he never takes a "one-size-fits-all" approach. He tailors his coaching to the individual, which is why I confidently recommend him to friends and colleagues of all skill levels , men and women alike. Whether you're brand new to the game or a seasoned golfer looking to refine your craft, he knows how to elevate your game in a way that feels approachable and effective. Most importantly, he makes you excited to keep improving and coming back for more. Iron sharpens iron, thank you, Troy! If you're looking for a golf coach who genuinely knows how to help you grow your game, I know a guy you should call.

You know the guy, the one that comes to the course with a different identity every time trying anything from small Grandpa half swings to Harley Grippin and throttling the driver as hard as he can, to Texas wedging from 60 yards off in the fairway .... That guy. Then after losing like seven balls at Canyon crest and shooting in the upper 90s again, I finally humbled myself and realized I might need a coach In my business life- coaching had paid for itself many times over and I finally widened up and thought "why not golf too" Maybe you relate, I'd been trying to bake a cake with a million different recipes on YouTube and I knew that if I was humble enough to go and copy someone else's playbook from top to bottom just maybe I might stand a chance When I met Jay, I could tell right away, this guy knows his stuff and he spoke my language, "biomechanical efficiency", "anatomical limits", "isometric tension", and on and on You see I'm a skeptic and I'm pretty critical by nature and I challenge everything, but anything I threw at Jay he had a response for, and not only that he was able to redirect me and tell me where I'm not even asking the right questions I must admit I'm a difficult person to work with. I'm an eight on the Enneagram (a challenger), and not only is Jay gifted in his golf system, but also in his soft skills, such as being able to handle challenging people. He knew when to step on the gas and push me and he knew when I just needed a nice cold Gatorade cause I was about to explode Today I finally broke 80. He told me I would within 6 months of his coaching... and we made it Cheers Jay, to a true coach. Before I met him I was slicing all my drives. Nothing I tried to do to fix the swing felt right. In a 30 minute lesson he corrected it and I've never felt better hitting a driver or any of my woods or hybrids. In our second lesson, we worked on my irons, as I am very inconsistent with them. Once again, I've never hit my irons better. As golf has become so popular these past few months, I've seen so many instructors charge exorbitant money for 30/60 minute lessons. However, Gene is very fairly priced and I will be going back to him for sure, especially when I need a tune up. I'd recommend Gene for all level of golfer, from beginner to advanced. You won't be sorry!

I don't have the same time I had in my 20s to devote to the game, so finding quality instruction and practice was key to maximizing the time I did have. I honestly had never heard of Golftec because I've been living under a rock since stepping away from golf, but they were close by, and figured I'd give them a shot. Immediately loved the vibe and access to quality tech and information. First assessment I felt like I was where I needed to be. I felt like I was going to truly transform my game because we were talking the same language and I knew I couldn't do this on my own. I worked with Coach Matt for over 10 lessons and couldn't be happier. We got a lot done in not much time. I got to a single-digit handicap really quickly in my first year back and I wound up flushing so many more shots than I ever did when I was playing a lot of golf in my more athletic days. That was the validation I needed. I may not be able to swing as fast as I used to, but even with that, the scores started dropping, and the quality of shots I was hitting was another level up, even from when I played my best at a 5 handicap at 25. Beyond that though, I have so much more knowledge of where my problems lie. Like most people, I can't bring my swing coach with me on the course every time I play, so when things go sideways, I need to be able to assess and remedy the issues on my own, and I'm thrilled to say I have far more awareness of my swing and the ways to get it back on track thanks to Matt. I'm currently moving to the Bay area now, so I had to stop lessons, but I couldn't praise my experience there enough. The facility is great, the tech is fantastic, but more than that is my one-on-one with Coach Matt. As someone who doesn't love traditional 90-minute lessons because I feel like it's just a lot of standing around talking, I opted for more sessions at 30-minute lengths, which was perfect for the way I like to work. We were able to maximize each lesson with quick, concise, and straightforward remedies for me to work on. I never left any lesson feeling rushed, rather I just felt like the process was simplified to the essentials. We didn't have time to overload each session with all the things wrong with my swing. We identified the 1 or 2 primary issues that stood out, discussed why it's happening and what other chain reaction it might be causing, and then we got to work and started grooving the swing change or putting change. I would generally spend 2-3 weeks just working on those small changes on my own, before coming back in to assess the next step. On top of that, I purchased a holiday package that included club fitting, and it was added insurance to know that the person fitting me wasn't seeing my swing for the very first time that day. I would argue, that nobody on the planet is more familiar with my swing strengths and swing flaws, than Coach Matt. That is a huge benefit to have a fitting from your coach! All in all, my experience was fantastic. I'm sad to leave Southern California and access to this Golftec and coach Matt, but such is life. Thrilled to have had them all in my journey and getting me on the path of better golf.

Despite this, I was charged a $10 cancellation fee. When I followed up, I was told they have a strict 'zero exceptions' policy. While I understand having rules around attendance, penalizing members for acting responsibly when ill, especially after being added from a waitlist on such short notice, is poor customer service.
