I took 10 years off from the game, and when I came back, I wanted to be as efficient as possible in progressing. I don't have the same time I had in my 20s to devote to the game, so finding quality instruction and practice was key to maximizing the time I did have. I honestly had never heard of Golftec because I've been living under a rock since stepping away from golf, but they were close by, and figured I'd give them a shot. Immediately loved the vibe and access to quality tech and information. First assessment I felt like I was where I needed to be. I felt like I was going to truly transform my game because we were talking the same language and I knew I couldn't do this on my own. I worked with Coach Matt for over 10 lessons and couldn't be happier. We got a lot done in not much time. I got to a single-digit handicap really quickly in my first year back and I wound up flushing so many more shots than I ever did when I was playing a lot of golf in my more athletic days. That was the validation I needed. I may not be able to swing as fast as I used to, but even with that, the scores started dropping, and the quality of shots I was hitting was another level up, even from when I played my best at a 5 handicap at 25. Beyond that though, I have so much more knowledge of where my problems lie. Like most people, I can't bring my swing coach with me on the course every time I play, so when things go sideways, I need to be able to assess and remedy the issues on my own, and I'm thrilled to say I have far more awareness of my swing and the ways to get it back on track thanks to Matt. I'm currently moving to the Bay area now, so I had to stop lessons, but I couldn't praise my experience there enough. The facility is great, the tech is fantastic, but more than that is my one-on-one with Coach Matt. As someone who doesn't love traditional 90-minute lessons because I feel like it's just a lot of standing around talking, I opted for more sessions at 30-minute lengths, which was perfect for the way I like to work. We were able to maximize each lesson with quick, concise, and straightforward remedies for me to work on. I never left any lesson feeling rushed, rather I just felt like the process was simplified to the essentials. We didn't have time to overload each session with all the things wrong with my swing. We identified the 1 or 2 primary issues that stood out, discussed why it's happening and what other chain reaction it might be causing, and then we got to work and started grooving the swing change or putting change. I would generally spend 2-3 weeks just working on those small changes on my own, before coming back in to assess the next step. On top of that, I purchased a holiday package that included club fitting, and it was added insurance to know that the person fitting me wasn't seeing my swing for the very first time that day. I would argue, that nobody on the planet is more familiar with my swing strengths and swing flaws, than Coach Matt. That is a huge benefit to have a fitting from your coach! All in all, my experience was fantastic. I'm sad to leave Southern California and access to this Golftec and coach Matt, but such is life. Thrilled to have had them all in my journey and getting me on the path of better golf. read more

Complete scam. Bought a 2k package from Chris and he was never available. Also, the place did not have times available for practice unless you showed up and asked for a slot in person, which was 20 miles away so not suoer convenient. The online scheduling was a scam. I could not get a time and ultimately the said my package was "unused" and expired because I was Nat able to schedule a time to actually redeem my purchase. Avoid at all cost! read more

I will begin by saying that I think that the facility is great and the instructor is knowledgeable. But there was two things that bothered me. On the website it was 95 for a 60 min evaluation. The lesson was done in less so I'm not too happy about that. Secondly, in the first session that I had, it appears that the instructor was more interested in me getting more lessons and spending Monday rather than helping. If you are not that interested in helping me and I pay you $95 for the lesson and it is less than the time I paid for, I'm not sure if I would want a teacher like that to help with my golf game. Been meaning to do a review for a while but just now getting to this and it's important to give props where they're due. Let me say this. My only regret is that I didn't meet Keith Darden much earlier in my golf journey. I began at Irvine with female instructor - old school mentality, not the greatest communication skills. Tried Keith Darden in HB on a whim. Wow! Dude is next level. Just bummed I used up half of my lesson package with someone else and not thru his instruction. Do hope to go back and get a swing tune up as I progress on my own. With just two lessons, I use more of his swing thoughts in my game than everything I learned in my other lessons. Keith is about structure. Setting up a good foundation with your mechanics. He is soft spoken and a great communicator. When I'm asked who to go for lessons, I say drive the extra miles and go see this dude. read more

Mixed feelings about this place. Signed up for a 15 lesson package and also got fitted for irons and wedges. Instructor was nice but as the lessons progressed, it got more difficult to schedule lessons or he would ask me to wait for another student because they habitually came earlier than their scheduled time. Seems to me that it would have been easier for the instructor to just ask that student to come at their assigned time than to make me wait, especially since I had reserved that time already. The other thing is that after my lessons concluded, I asked the instructor what my average driver swing speed was and I got no response. He also fitted me for a sand wedge with 8 degrees of bounce. He never asked me what bounce I wanted. Usually sand wedge you want more bounce to help get you out of the bunker. My 54 that he fitted me for has more bounce than my sand wedge!!! read more

I'll keep this simple. Ask for Keith. I decided it was time to invest in a set of new irons so scheduled an appointment with Keith for my first fitting. I went in with high expectations and I can honestly say that my expectations were exceeded. Yes, the technology GOLFTEC has is incredible, but the icing on the cake was Keith taking the time to explain everything to me in the simplest way and making me feel like he was truly there to help me find the best fit for me. I worked with Matt for a club fitting session and I highly recommend him and Golftec for anyone looking for an honest, knowledgeable expert in equipment and instruction. Matt made some recommendations on fairway wood shafts but the rest of my set was in good shape. I felt no pressure to buy anything and really enjoyed making Matt's acquaintance. I had outdated clubs and went to GolfTec for a fitting. Chris dialed up a great set of irons for me to get back to my former yardages. This was the best investment I ever made. I have fumbled around with trying to golf for a year before I opened my eyes to this place. The training is the most superior professional golf training, bar none. My coach is PGA and PGA commentator Andy Thuney. He has a full resume of being a golf legend. Each week I am hooked up to a harness while my coach watches the degrees in shoulder and hip rotations as I swing. I feel like Im in a golf lab and have a huge advantage over others. In a matter of a few months my game has improved tremendously and keeps getting better and better. My coach uploads each weeks training session to the website they designed for me. Great place to get your game together, nice people, easy parking, very solid. There's 3 working docs to take your lessons out of and can go in on your own to hit balls and see where you're at via computer / cameras which is great. Also a nice putting / chipping area. I would say the only complaint is that only 1 of the docs shows ball flights but overall, excellent. Andy is my guy and definitely knows what he's doing. read more

Been going to Golftec for almost one year. Great instruction from Steve. I love the use of video to show me why my shots were slicing so bad. I've been able to add about 20 yards to my 7 iron and with a beautiful draw. I highly recommend Golftec for any golfer. read more
