This past weekend I was trying on the dress I got for my best friend's welcome party for her destination wedding. The zipper got stuck, then it broke, and my panic for having a new dress for this occasion in under a week set in. I used Yelp assistant to put in a request to local alterations spots and let them know I had a broken zipper off the track of a formal dress and I needed it fixed before Tuesday. This request was sent on a Saturday afternoon, so to be honest I was not very hopeful of any replies but Carolina replied right away. Her studio is right by my apartment so she told me to take my dress in right then to see if it could be fixed. She fixed the zipper on the spot, and when we actually tried on the dress we realized that I did not fit. Welcome to my nightmare. She had the brilliant idea to alter the dress and add fabric on the sides to give me the inches I needed. The result is essentially a custom dress that I am obsessed with, and at a great price. I am definitely going to keep Carolina on speed dial for any of my alterations needs as she is super sweet, detail oriented, and very well priced. Her studio is located in a blue building on Mediera and there is street parking right in front. Thank goodness for both request a quote and Carolina for saving my dress fiasco.

There had never been an issue in the past but seeing the way this situation was handled was evidence enough that this isn't who we want to give our business to. He asked to speak to a manager multiple times and till this day he has not been contacted for an explanation, a remedy or even an apology. Mistakes happen but avoiding responsibility and refusing to face a long standing customer is unacceptable. We were referred to a different local cleaners that offer a pickup/dropoff service which has been SO CONVENIENT and much preferred. Silver Isles lost a loyal customer with us.

Went in looking for a dry cleaner and found out they do so much more, including fixing shoes and…read moremaking alterations. Upon entering and being greeted, I checked in on Yelp to find out they have a 30% off check-in offer for new customers. I presented it and they took it no qualms. In this, I also found out that they send you an e-mail when your order is done. Needless to say, that's exactly what happened. When I came to pick up my order, which was a dress, it was lovely. It was clean, packed well, and I was pleased. I did find the price a bit pricey compared to my old dry cleaner in Hialeah, but it is what it is. I ended up, too, speaking to a seamstress there about a top I had gotten fixed elsewhere. I told her I didn't know whether to further fix it or not. She had me try it on, quoted me a price, and then actually spoke to me about the pros and cons about whether or not it made sense to fix it further. Given the material, how often I plan to wear the top, and the price itself to fix it, the seamstress was honest and told me it didn't make sense to fix it. Nevertheless, she would if I wanted to. This went on for half an hour or so, and well, that level of attention and care, even though I didn't end up getting the top fixed, convinced me of my return. When I have something that actually is worth altering, I'll go to them. They actually care about their customers unlike the other place I went to. Not to mention that they did a great job on my dress. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is the price, but even then, I'm sure I may change my tune in the future if they continue to provide exemplary service.

This time, I arrived about two minutes before closing, but a few weeks ago I arrived with almost 11 minutes remaining and they had already closed. If business hours are posted, customers should be able to rely on those hours. Another thing customers should understand is that the cleaning is not actually done at this location. The items are picked up and taken elsewhere for cleaning, which may contribute to some inconsistency. As far as the actual service, I would rate the cleaning about 8/10. However, the pressing/ironing is closer to 5/10, especially with white coats, where the quality and attention to detail could definitely be improved. I have continued giving this location opportunities, but between closing earlier than the posted hours and inconsistent pressing quality, there is definitely room for improvement. Few of the employees are good here. ( Bh saying all of this, if the employee opened the door and said, all the registers are closed and they apologize. This would be ok. THAT DIDN'T HAPPENED)

Both shirts, which were about $60 each, came back with noticeable pilling (fabric balls) that wasn't there when I dropped them off. When I went back to address the issue, instead of taking responsibility or offering a solution, they just blamed the fabric of my shirts, saying they had no control over it. *They also don't do the dry cleaning themselves. They source it out*. I know this because the young man also told me, "we have no control over the outcome as we don't do the drycleaning ourselves." Aside from damaging the shirts, they didn't even offer a simple refund or offer any kind of compensation, leaving me with two damaged shirts that I can't wear out anymore. I expected much better service, especially considering the price I paid for the dry cleaning. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who values their clothes or their customer service experience.

They have tried 2 times now to fix the issue and the top us returned with a mark still. I have been going to them for over a year now twice a month with clean karate uniforms only basically for them to starch and iron honestly and this last time the gi top was returned with a black marker mark on the sleeve. Very noticeable in a competition and now unusable. I'm out 225$ and all they can say is oh its a little mark.
