    Chicken Pancit

Second time having the chicken Pancit, it has been great both times. Haven't been able to branch out beyond that on the menu, too good to miss! Never had Pancit before but this is an awesome flavor and you can tell they care about each dish. The Tilaw team was friendly and helpful both trips.

The food was spectacular and cooked perfectly. I had the chicken skewers with coconut rice. The skewers were topped with sprouts! Yum yum!!

We went for lunch. I had read many reviews about this restaurant…read more They were right. It was fantastic. I had Filipino food a few times years ago. The rice noodle dish stands out in my mind. It was delicate and flavorful. Kanayan Grill is in a strip mall. But it is an island of its own. The restaurant is clean and well cared for. The server was friendly and helpful. She checked on us and answered questions. We had the egg rolls which were crispy and very good with a dipping sauce. We ordered sotanghon which best fit my memory of a favorite from the past. I was really good. A large portion with vegetables and meat. We also had Bicol express combo. This was a wonderful surprise. The flavors blended together in a savory creamy spicy sauce-heat can be adjusted. You could taste the coconut but not overpowering. Just the perfect blend. The pork was tender. It came with a perfectly cooked rice. Beverages were cans/bottles with cups of ice on request. For dessert we had the famous Halo-Halo. Mix mix mix we were told. And we did. But before I mixed I tried the Ube ice cream alone. I had never had Ube before. It was delicious. I read the ingredients before I ordered it but after mix mix mix we were treated to taste explosions. I am not sure what each one was to be honest, but it was amazing and I didn't need to know. It was a fun experience. I didn't add photos because there are so many perfect photos already posted. We will definitely come back. We would not do take out cause we would miss the fun of being there. I am sure their takeout is great. Thanks for a delicious fun experience.

Great food and friendly staff members! We enjoyed the Crispy Pata & Sisig with garlic rice…read more However, just need a little improvement with the desserts and AC/ventilation of the place! Tummy satisfied!

The dessert drink was absolutely delicious. I waited for the shaved ice to melt a little bit so I can drink some of it and all the little fruits in there and the beans were absolutely so fresh and I really love the Ube in there. I'm one of those type of people that like to custom my drinks and food so next time I would probably omit some of the fruits in there and either add extra Ube or extra ice cream or something like that if they allow it. The service was exceptional. The folks behind the counter were absolutely super sweet. I know they're Filipino, but I literally felt like I was in Hawaii. The service was so incredible. I felt like I was in paradise.

The Filipiniana is a small, humble eatery that sits in a rather hidden plaza (it's hardly…read morenoticeable from the main road) along and at the crossroads of eastbound Waters Avenue and Dale Mabry. Like most other Filipino restaurants/cafe, there is a behind-the-counter, glass protected buffet at the forefront of the restaurant. From here, you can make your selections as you build your combination platter. The Filipiniana also offers a small section of baked goods and desert, while specializing in drinks such as Halo Halo and other Asian-curated beverages. Interesting to note that the Filipiniana offers catering in the kamayan style (simply put, a spread of various dishes over banana leaves to be shared by multiple people amd eaten with hands). However, they don't serve this in house/at the location - you will have to give advance notice (like with other caterers) to have this prepared. The Filipiniana is definitely a good spot to satiate your curiousity, explore, and discover Filipino cuisine!
