This place is horrible!!! The food is not that great and the service was horrendous. Our server wasn't wearing a mask and while he's talking spit is coming out of his mouth which made me weary to even eat the food. Hello.... Covid is still out there. If you have a spitting problem, you need to be wearing a mask. They bring a dish I ordered out wrong TWICE!! AND the first time they get the dish wrong the server cops an attitude because I told her it's not the right dish. 2nd time she brings the WRONG dish AGAIN and I tell her it's wrong she rolls her eyes. Why is she copping an attitude with me when she's the one that got the order wrong??? It was a simple garlic lo mein dish too! At this point I've had it. The main server was being rude from the get go and then this girl is getting annoyed at me for getting the order wrong twice, so I ask to talk to manager. Guess what...? The main server is the manager!!! LOL A manager giving horrible service like that and putting in the wrong order initially...this place is being run by a rude moron. He is not apologetic and basically it was a waste of time even talking to him. I will NEVER go here again and neither should you unless you want to have spit splattered near you while giving your order. The Mai Thai drinks were a bit too watered down with too much ice but that was my only complaint. So I wouldn't get another cocktail next time and just stick to the food which was all really good. read more

People hype this place cause the ambiance and bar scene might be cool, but the food is really mediocre. Been here a couple times and was very unimpressed with the quality of meat and Thai dishes. The food at this place is excellent. However, the hostesses at the front desk are always in a bad mood. The owners should reconsider who they have representing their restaurant to greet guests because the current staff doesn't act like they want to be there. We were there just recently with some friends ( I did try to convince them to go to one of the many other Thai places in the area, however they really wanted to try this place); When we got there, we requested a table and were told we would be put on a list; So, we got a table at the bar and hung out there and ordered drinks and appetizers. 2 hours later, we were still waiting for a table when there were clearly tables available that the staff weren't turning. It's like the front staff wanted to bar area to be full and the restaurant to be empty. We spent over $600 at the bar and would've gladly stayed and spent more but decided to take our business elsewhere after 2 hours. The bar staff were wonderful and the drinks and food are great. We were a little disappointed with the food quality and presentation (maybe, because we dine in very authentic Thai cuisine restaurants). I booked a table for 2, and "Oh, Boy"... it was so small, especially, for the size of the plates they serve some of the appetizers. We ordered few appetizers to share, drinks and the dessert. Lamb lollipops were flavorful and tender, but presentation and serving lacked. I had to slice a rack of lamb on a tiny clattered with other dishes table. The bone wasn't covered in foil and already sliced in individual pieces, as it suppose to be served, so patrons don't get messy. Curry Crab dip was delicious and served with un-proportional amount of fried pastry (just too little for a big dish of dip). I had to asked for additional pastry to finish the dip, and I was charged for it (unheard of, too). The pastry itself was very flaky and very, very messy. The size of those pieces is required to have 2-3 bites and they just break in your hands. For that matter, a simple pita bread chips would be a better choice for the dip. Now, Larb Gai Taco... a big fail. It was served on one 5-8in in diameter, chewy pastry that was impossible and very messy to eat. Also, as i pointed out to the waitress, it was garnished with spoiled/rotten pieces of lettuce :( Ordered 2 desserts and waitress didn't charge for one of them due to rotten lettuce in Taco. Actually, they shouldn't have not charged me for that Taco at all... Drinks were served very miserly over a humongous cube of ice, or 3/4 of glass filled with shaved ice. Both desserts, Lychee cheesecake and Thai Tea Cream brulee were tasty, though. Anyhow, I left that place paying a $100 with a very sour feeling of being robbed:( This place always attracted me by their cute lighted outdoor terrace, that, unfortunately, is the only attractive point of Tiki Thai. A customer of mine along w/ 2 coworkers recommended this restaurant. My girlfriend and I were eager to dine there. I arrived Sunday night. I was escorted to my table and just as I was about to sit down. I noticed a tiny insect on the seat of the chair. I thought it was a spider but when I leaned down to get a better look, it was a little baby roach! I immediately called my gf that hadn't arrived yet and told her to find another restaurant for us. I walked back up to the front of the restaurant, told the host I had an emergency and proceeded to leave. I am 100% sure that they know they have roaches. It's was just ok. We ordered 2 chicken dishes , one was grilled and one was with drunken noodles. Chicken was super dry on both. The grilled chicken had no favor. The drunken noodle was salty. Food is very expensive for the flavors and portions. To top it all we were seated next to kitchen and bathroom and they were not busy when we arrived. I would only come here to drink. The food is quite overpriced for what you get. Ordered the wings and you get 3 whole pieces (6 wings) for $14. Kinda ridiculous $2.33 per wing. We aren't ordering sushi here. The coconut shrimp was too sweet that it tasted more like a dessert. It would be useful if appetizers that are shareable list the number of pieces. The manager was extremely unaccommodating and we were also frequently eating there. The food was average anyway and we will be taking our business to Thai Luang on Elden street in the future. I'm part of a local office of several hundred people. We've been coming to Tiki Thai multiple Thursdays each month as part of team building. We have been giving them steady business for quite some time. Today when we showed up the manager on duty was extremely reluctant to push some tables together for us (a requested party of 10) as he was concerned it would take tables from other patrons. Note, we showed up right at opening time to avoid the peak lunch hours. We were trying to be considerate of their business but they certainly didn't seem to be appreciative of ours. The entire time we were there (less than an hour) the restaurant was 80% empty. We will be selecting another one of the restaurants in the area from now on for our team building...one that appreciates our business. We will also ensure the other groups in our building hear of our experience as well. They need to remember the paying customer at their door is more valuable than the one they hope will be coming in. read more

I was REALLY excited that Tiki Thai finally opened after months of waiting. I didn't get to try it as soon as I would have liked, but am glad I finally did. We wanted to try a couple of different things and a staple of Thai cuisine so we settled on the PuPu Platter and Drunken Noodles, and ordered it for carry out. The PuPu platter included a smorgasbord of appetizers - spring rolls, crab and salmon rangoons, coconut shrimp, wings and something called heavenly beef (which I didn't see elsewhere on the menu). Unfortunately, by the time we broke into this, it was on the colder side (I was told 25 mins for pick up and arrived early but my food was already out and waiting). The spring rolls were simple and classic. The rangoons were interesting! I've never had them with salmon as well, and they were on the sweeter side. The coconut shrimp was tasty but also a bit too sweet. The wings and beef were both solid, and very tasty, but definitely would have been better if warm. Three sauces came with the platter as well, but weren't labeled, so we may have mixed them up - but they were still tasty! The chicken drunken noodles were pretty perfect and as expected; I liked the addition of carrots to the dish. The spice level was great and they definitely didn't slump on the chicken! I definitely want to try more items off of Tiki Thai's menu, and hopefully for dine in next time so I can eat it fresh and hot! And you know...cocktails! read more

The atmosphere? Amazing. The food? DELISH. The drinks? Worth every single penny. Be sure to make a reservation before coming if you can. We did a walk-in waitlist at 6:30pm because they were booked until 9pm. We only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. I got the Long Thailand while we waited and it didn't disappoint. Once we were seated, we ordered the Rangoon and Curry Crab Dip to start. We finished the night with Drunken Noodles and Thai Tea Creme Brûlée. I really went back and forth between 2 and 3. The whole experience was really marred by exceptionally slow service. We sat for 35 minutes before giving a drink order. We had 2 specialty cocktails which were fantastic. Maybe not $15 fantastic but I really nice treat. Our spring rolls were really awful. They tasted completely frozen and the filling was mush. We also ordered Tom Yum soup which had some great elements but the overwhelming fish taste was so overwhelming that they actually removed it from our bill. Our entrees were great--Thai Chicken Basil and Panang Curry with flank steak. Delicious, generous portions. We did the Fried coconut banana for dessert. The fried outside of the banana tasted just like the spring rolls but it came with a coconut ice cream that was to die for! Loved the indoor/outdoor atmosphere; they had the entire front wall opened up. Very nicely decorated and maintained. We had Satay and healthy rolls to start. Both were very good but didn't knock our socks off. I personally would add avocado to the Vegi healthy rolls but that's personal taste. The dipping sauces were craveable and we loved the Hawaiian roll that comes with the satay. The Pad Thai was unusually sweet, tasted like they added pineapple to it. I personally was not a fan at all. However, the Spicy Basil Pork was to die for!! Would go back for that dish alone. Drinks were unique and well crafted. Last evening was the second time I've eaten here for dinner, and both times were great. I'm glad we made reservations, because the place was packed, and for good reason (besides it being a Friday night). Unlike many other restaurants, this one was well- staffed, and the service wonderful- very efficient, very quick, and friendly. Their menu is diverse and interesting. This time I tried their shrimp and pumpkin curry, and the combination of ingredients worked perfectly. And the shrimp was cooked perfectly. I tried their lychee cheesecake, and while I'm usually not a fan of lychee, I really enjoyed this cheesecake; the lychee favor was subtle. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the acoustics- when the place is packed, and there's rock music playing, it's really hard to hear and have a conversation with one's meal partner. read more

The best experience EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have been here hundreds of times since they've open. Every single time, no matter the day or time of day, I have gotten rockstar service whether I am at the bar or dining room. Everyone that works here is super kind and helpful in every way. They all treat you like a regular even if it's your first time here. Their drinks are to die for!!! The best bartenders you can find in the Reston and northern Virginia area. I crave their food at least once a week to the point where I come here during my lunch break. I have been to Thailand twice now and will say their food is as close to authentic as you can find around here. Gabe and Andre are the bartenders I see most and make each visit worth it! This place is so cute inside and the decorations are really well done! The drinks are these adorable tiki glasses and they are so precious. I really like the theme of this restaurant and I don't think there is another one like it in the northern Virginia. I really liked the food however I will say that it was incredibly spicy even though they did not ask spice level. I just got the normal Pat Pad Thai and it tasted like it was an American hot spice level. I've had that level before and I prefer medium to mild so this was incredibly spicy! That being said the dish was so good and I would definitely get it again but make sure to ask for mild. The crispy tofu appetizer was really delicious as well along with the sauce that it came with. The healthy roll was OK but I prefer the tofu appetizer. I would definitely come back here and try more of the dishes. The service was a little bit slow but it was nothing crazy - everything else was really delicious it was just so incredibly spicy! read more
