An adorable little body care shop in German Village that makes most of their product in the backroom. They are dog friendly. I heard about Tiki Botanicals through a partnered Yelp event, when I mentioned that I was unable to attend the event the shopkeeper right away said he would honor the event promo. When you walk in there are paper shoppers bags along the wall you can grab to start putting your goodies in. They offer candles, bath bombs, bar soap, hair products, and more! When you check out you get to pick which tissue paper to use in your bag. So adorable and a great touch. As I was leaving the shop I heard the shopkeepers discussing what they would work on for the day. They were going to pour candles. It was a very Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion moment and it made me smile from ear to ear! Today I went to redeem some gift cards I received for Christmas ! Yay! I took along my step daughter so she could experience small business at it's best. Did not disappoint. We had a lovely non rushed chat with the business owner about the products. I sampled a perfume called Utopia that I loved at first sniff And was going to buy it. No no, he encouraged me to wait to experience the complexity of the fragrance as the day goes on. How nice was that?! It'll be here, he said , just come back. The fragrance is called Utopia. Starts out kind of woodsy and has now transitioned into something very very pleasant I cannot describe. I will have to indeed go back and get some. The soaps are a great deal. $8.50 which is awesome and they last a decent amount of time too. The soaps also make your hand feel really clean after using them. A lot of boutique soaps in my opinion seem to leave your hands feeling oily but these soaps make your hands feel so clean which is amazing. I was on a walk to Hausfrau Haven when I stumbled across this adorable little shop in the German Village and was immediately hooked. I just love when you find a cute new place you weren't even necessarily looking for! As soon as I walked in, the owner greeted me warmly and we had a great conversation about the history of the shop. This is such a cozy place. All of the candles and soaps smell so fresh, and I enjoyed walking around sniffing everything! I visited just before Mother's Day, so I ended up picking up a foaming hand soap as well as some shower steamers for my Mom, both of which she loved! Everything here not only smells amazing but is made with natural ingredients, which is really important to me, as my mom was recently diagnosed with an allergy to a chemical that's often included in most commercial hand soaps and laundry detergents. She has to be really careful about what she uses now. Shopping here is a great way to both support a local business and feel good about the quality of the products you're purchasing. There's nothing I love more than finding a hidden gem like Tiki Botanicals filled with luxurious bath products and the most amazing smells around. Tack on that they're family owned and you got a real winner! I originally discovered this place on social media. Learning that it was located in the German Village, I knew I had to have passed it 100 times. I haven't been out exploring as much the past 10 months, but with the holidays coming up, I made sure to pay them a visit as I started my shopping early. There's free parking right outside and they have plenty of signage out guiding you to their entrance.The shop is in an old home which is honestly the perfect setting for their awesome products.The back room serves as a workshop where they make all their candles and the front two rooms are the retail space. There is cool product in every corner, either their own or another local business they're doing their best to support. I grabbed up several bath bombs and a lavender linen spray. The spray has been great and every night I spray it on my pillows at night, I sleep better. I've used two of the bath bombs so far and they are amazing. They smell so good and leave your skin feeling so nice! I'll definitely be back and can't wait to continue trying their very special products. read more

We found this gem of a local business and purchased some foaming hand soaps. So far we've tried the "Energy" scent. I really love the scent. It's fresh and citrusy and makes me smile! I also loved that they had some different scents that you wouldn't find elsewhere. You have to use a full pump of this soap because the mix is a little weaker than some other kinds of soaps. My only small complaint is that before we have even finished the soap pump, it's not popping back up the way it should. I'm not sure if this will be just a defective one or if all the pumps are like that. We spoke with the owner who runs this shop out of his home. I love this shop, which is in an old brick house in German Village. I used the 20% off check-in offer for my purchases, and definitely want to go back, as well as spread the word. The associate was super friendly and knowlegable. They offer candle-making classes in the room next to the retail area. They have 2 rooms packed full of fabulous items that are all made in-shop. I love that they sell sage bundles. They also stock coffee beans (made by their coffee-making friend), candles, catnip spray, bath bombs, hair care, body care, bar soap, and shower bombs, etc. etc. I bought a candle that was poured in an owl mug (with a lid) and was told I could bring it back for a refill. I also got a catnip spray; the associate told me he sprays this on a rug for his cats, so I did the same and my 3 loved it. Lastly, I got a package of soy wax melts and I love the Kentucky Bourbon scent. I highly recommend adding this shop to a shop local excursion! read more

In a cool old house, blending right into German Village, this is packed with handmade bath items. So many interesting products, and scents. The production area is in back, and the two fairly small rooms up front are chock full of candles, bath bombs, soaps, lotions, etc. I looked at the men's stuff but didn't see anything I would actually use- that's more about me than the items, which were quality stuff, with nice scents. I ended up with bath bombs for Baby K (and maybe Sweetie?) in a variety of aromas. Plus a lotion for Sweetie. Loads of different smells, all natural, all wonderful. Service was great. I swear their Shea body lotion is the best lotion I've ever used- perfect for rehydrating my hands after constant washing and sanitizing at work. It absorbs quickly and doesn't leave me feeling oily. What a lovely location (different from where it was previously on 3rd, we were told they have been at this new location, catty corner from the book loft, for three weeks), amazing smells, the staff was super friendly and great selection of candles, bath bombs, soaps and more! I would definitely love to come back for a "make your own candle" event, but we were also told we could bring back the candle holders we bought to be refilled once they've been used up! I attended the Yelp event here and loved finding a new gem nearby! The event was a great way to properly distance during these times and I got some cool goodies to help make my house smell great! The owner was super helpful when I walked in, explaining what items are made in house and where to find all of the different options. The place had so much stuff for a smaller shop, but it was organized very well. The choices of scents were so hard to choose from, so I had to narrow it down to keep my closet from overflowing... but I will be back for more! This is a charming little spot in the German Village area with the nicest people working there. From the moment you enter, you are greeted with a variety of lovely scents. There is pretty much something for everyone, especially if you're talking candles! There was even a pumpkin beer one. Tiki Botanicals is a fairly new addition to German Village and what a lovely one! Opening up just a month ago, Jim Thieken now offers his locally made soaps, bath bombs, shower steamers, lotions, candles, oils, shampoo bars, etc. to the public on the weekends! If you're ever looking for a small thoughtful gift, you'll find something here. They are now even selling locally roasted coffee beans named after famous philosophers. The cozy shop was decorated still very much like a home except the piano, fire place mantle, and coffee tables were covered with colorful and fragrant bath supplies and candles. My friend and I received exceptional service as we browsed the store. The gentlemen behind the counter roasts the coffee beans himself and his wife was able to tell me us about the soap bars and shower steamers (since many of us don't have/use bath tubs). Finding these small local businesses is why I love roaming neighborhoods! There's clearly so much love and care that goes into these products. After purchasing a shampoo bar ($18, a little steep but another step towards reducing my plastic use), it was wrapped in one of their ecclectic tissue papers and put in a brown gift bag with their sticker. I love coming in here due to their super friendly staff to their amazing products. If this is your first visit you need to try their shower tablets! There are so many different scents and they make the showering experience so much better! Adrienne comes in for the volumizing shampoo and said it's some of the best she has used. We came in today since we needed a refill of the shampoo - yes, a refill! If you buy the aluminum bottle you can bring it on in for a discount refill. She will use one bottle every six months so it's definitely worth the price, and it smells amazing. I ended up getting a couple of hand soaps and bath bombs while were in there as well. Today, they had the doors open to their kitchen where they make the products - it was really awesome to see the behind scene work that goes in to these wonderful products. I've been amazed at how long they've lasted; I got the bottles in May and I'm only about halfway done with them about 3 months later. It was a little more expensive that I had hoped, but the long time use of them has made them super reasonably priced. I've since gone back to get shower steamer and a few soaps. I love all the products so far. They smell great, last for a long time, and my sensitive skin hasn't had any problems. Highly recommend for your own bathroom or as a gift.
