Fettuccine with tiger shrimp and wild mushrooms
Fontaine M.

We decided to come here to try lunch as our expectation was that they would have a lunch menu. They didn't. We ended up paying the same as dinner. So much for "trying out a place for lunch first". The attentive service was good though. The toast with the drizzle of olive oil was so crunchy and on point that we asked for a second plate. Thank goodness that was a freebie. I ordered the fettuccine with tiger shrimp and wild mushrooms in a light sauce. The pasta was super fresh and chewy. The shrimp was also fresh with great texture. I just wish they had a lunch menu. Then it would be more affordable to come more often. Lol.

Excellent pasta - a hidden gem for sure! Went here for a groupon deal (valued at $70) in which you get: one appetizer to share, one soup or salad, pasta of your choice, and dessert of your choice. The staff are so friendly and nice with a good balance of humour to start off your experience. There was a table beside us that ordered a custom appetizer "mixed appetizer" where you can request your own platter of however you want it made. Example is having tiger grilled prawns, grilled calamari, grilled red pepper, cheese, and some olives. I wish I had that fish because it smelled so good that it was very appetizing. The food quality is generous even with just the beef carpaccio - you're getting your moneys worth. Pasta they give large portion and very filling - and the dessert was great! Everything was so good in the menu that you can't miss out on it. They also make their own table bread toasted with butter (finally not just some hard crusted bread) but all in all - you need to try here if you're an Italian fan.

Great experience. We went as a party of four. Enjoyed some bruschetta, appetizers (meatballs and muscles) which were full of flavour, salads and entrees. We enjoyed the pasta and gnocchi. The quality, quantity and price point were all good. The best experience was the service, very friendly, attentive and time efficient. It was a full house but not once did we feel over looked. food was so good we started eating before the photos. A must try, and definitely make a reservation. Food 4/5, price point 4/5, environment 5/5, service 5/5. Thank you Happy customers.

Came out for a girls dinner on a Saturday nite after a recommendation of one of the girls. Tiny place and was pretty packed. Good thing we had a reservation or else we wouldn't have been able to get a table. Out server was great and very patient with out indecisiveness. Simple menu, although different from the website. As were the pics in the site. My friends ordered a bottle of wine and since I'm allergic-yup, allergic...I ordered a beer and there were only 2 options, but that was fine, I like Peroni. We had the beef carpaccio to start and all order different dishes. Beef was very good and quite tender. I had the angel hair pasta with shrimp and although the dish was quite tasty, I was disappointed with the 5 measly shrimp that was placed strategically on top. I thought there might be more shrimp hiding underneath but there was not. Very disappointing considering the $22 price tag. Highlite if the dinner was desert. Ordered the in house made tiramisu and it was amazing and picture worthy. Give this place a shot if you want a nice quiet evening, but I won't likely be returning

First time visitors (on Valentine's Day!) and have to say we were incredibly impressed! Keep reading! I decided to find a nice little Italian place that was cozy and somewhat romantic for Valentine's Day. It was time we started to get out of our comfort zone and stopped going to the same places that we love every year. This was a bit of a risk but based on the reviews online and photos, we decided to make a reservation (easily on open table) The place is definitely on the smaller size. First impressions were that it was nicely lit for dinner and clean. We requested a booth when reserving but there were only tables. Totally fine. The staff from start to finish were all nice, helpful and pleasant. You get a nice plate of seasoned bread to start off your meal which is always a welcomed addition to any meal. Our appetizer calamari was perfect. Not over battered or greasy at all. My agnolotti (stuffed with crab meat) in a cream sauce was rich and delicious. We also had the potato gnocchi. Both were fresh and plentiful. Gnocchis were good but I wouldn't say best we've ever had. We finished the dinner with the homemade tiramisu. Delicious. Again not the best but tasty nonetheless. Thanks for a wonderful evening! See you guys again soon!

Fantastic place. Excellent food and service. Can't wait to go back. Went for my birthday dinner and ordered it all. Beef carpaccio, grilled calamari, meatballs for the appetizers. For dinner grilled fish, Suppa de pesce, penne alla vodka and a fettuccine with shrimp and mushrooms. Pasta amazing and homemade, seafood fresh and fantastic ! We had the torta Della Nonna for dessert and it was superb. Service was excellent ! The owner personally came to our table to greet us and see how everything was. Top notch and a true hidden gem.

Bruchetta

The place was cozy and the server was friendly. We had the bruchetta (delicious!), meatballs (flavourful) and calamari as appetizers. We had the "lamb chop, chicken & sausage" (chicken was a bit dry) and gnocchi as main. We finished with their tiramisu (nice and light). The place filled up quickly on a Wed night, so be sure to make reservations!

Somehow they couldn't find our reservation via Opentable but still accommodate us, I appreciate the service a lot. Every dish we ordered is pretty good. We shared the beef carpaccio, I like that they give you some arugula and Parmesan cheese on top. However, I prefer the style that serve with a raw egg. Daily soup is a purée of asparagus, peas and potato, I liked it very much. The pasta is obviously homemade. I had angel hair noodle with shrimp and brandy rose sauce. The sauce is excellent. I strongly recommend this place if you are seeking for an authentic Italian dinner.

The view of the venue, Image i could not find until i finally got there but was amazing for the 30+ company event.

Great experience at Tigo Trattoria! We had a company event for 32 people and made the space work. To go over 3 mains things: 1) Venue: The place was very well visually balanced to have an nicely dim/lit area for everyone to have a great evening. The decor was subtle but fit the mood. 2) Food: Honestly was even better then what the review i read previously coming in. We have everything from Seafood, pasta, veal, salad, chicken, salmon, soup, and so much more and not one bad plate. Every plate was licked to the bone (not licked but nothing was left on the plate). We had individuals with Vegetarian or Gluten free or other allergies and the owner made sure to make everything perfect. 3) The owners: I was in discussion with Maurizio to set everything up and he made sure to please us in any way he could. The hidden thing I wasn't informed about was, Maurizio was the owner and the chef! Honestly blew my mind away since he came into the dinning room and made sure everything was good while still cooking up 96 plates of food (3 course meal for 32 people) Overall, worth the price. Its not cheap but great place to go out for dinner. The portions were very well maintained. Hope this review does you well and i'll be going back again on my next hot date... myself and my stomach! :D

Very good food and service. We actually really enjoyed the bread brought to the table. Great wine selection, we only ate mains here just because of time. They were good have tried other places that I prefer but the food here was still in the top 10 Italian restaurants I've been to. The food came out in a timely manner, a big portion. Both dishes were tasty and we had many good servers.

It would be a bit of a pain to get to by transit from Vaughan Metropolitan Centre though. Inside, it's spacious and open, with a massive wine rack right at the front. They also have two separate areas: the main dining room and a "next door" section that's basically its own room, which is nice if you want a slightly different vibe. Service: 3.5/5 They get busy (like "book days in advance" busy), so service can be a little inconsistent. Sometimes it took a while for our server to swing by, but food came out in a reasonable timeframe once we ordered. Definitely recommend reserving ahead. Food: 3.5/5 Big Italian menu with lots of pasta and pizza options, plus mains like chicken parm, lamb chops, and branzino. The wine and cocktail lists are extensive, which fits the whole "giant wine wall" aesthetic. The Caesar salad was honestly the standout, really well done. The starter bread was a miss for us: a bit stale and not warmed, like it had been sitting out for a while. Dessert, though, redeemed things. The dessert menu has a lot of variety, and the toffee dessert our server recommended was great, especially with the vanilla ice cream. Overall, solid spot with real highlights, but I'd love to see more consistency across the rest of the menu.

The Genoa pizza was nice and thin, and loaded with pesto, pine nuts, chicken, mushrooms and cheeses. The tiramisu was really really good, but what really was impressive was the ambiance and the service. Staff was so friendly and very very attentive....though quite possibly just taken back by our kid's appetite.

I brought my colleague and supervisor visiting Toronto to Cantina Amici after finding out they were…read morestaying nearby (middle of nowhere). I had never been here before, so there was a brief hesitation since I thought this could either make me look like a foodie genius or a complete fraud. But then I saw photos of the beautiful olive tree in the dining room and thought, well... any restaurant confident enough to put a tree in the middle probably knows what it's doing. I was sold. The verdict? I'm glad I brought them--though there was one small caveat. The one con: We started with the Vegetarian Board. The vegetables were fresh and well-cooked, but I have to call out a small disappointment: the menu clearly says "chef's selection of vegetables and olives." Reader, unfortunately...there were no olives. Not a single olive in sight. In a restaurant with an olive tree, no less. The irony was almost poetic. Minor false advertising aside, the broccolini was also a bit more bitter than I personally enjoy. Now the pros (and there were many): The rest of the meal was exceptional--fresh, satisfying, and very authentically Italian. To start, we had fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The olive oil alone almost stole the show. It was incredibly fragrant, with that bright, crisp olive flavour that lingers on your palate like it was pressed five minutes ago. I may or may not have eaten more bread than dignity allows. For my main, I had the pasta special of the day: oxtail casarecce, and it was fantastic. The sauce was creamy and packed with umami. The oxtail was tender and chewy at the same time, somehow both hearty and melt-in-your-mouth. And the pasta itself was clearly fresh--springy, perfectly textured. Fresh pasta really does make all the difference. My coworker ordered the paccheri con zucchine e gamberetti, which I sampled strictly for research purposes. It was lighter and refreshing, with delicate zucchini that made the whole dish feel balanced and satisfying. My other colleague went with the daily secondi special: pesce alla griglia (sea bream). I also tried a bite of that, and it was excellent--crispy skin on the outside, tender and flaky inside, juicy and full of flavour. The only small drawback was that the sides were the exact same vegetables as the ones from our Vegetarian Board, so by round two my colleague was a little overwhelmed by the déjà-vu of vegetables. Then came dessert--easily everyone's favourite part of the night. Two of us ordered the tiramisu, and honestly, it might be one of the best I've had. When they serve it, they pour a freshly brewed shot of espresso over the top, which soaks into the layers and perfectly complements the mascarpone and cream underneath. It was ridiculously good. Our other coworker ordered the pistachio strawberry cake and absolutely demolished it in about two seconds flat, which I think is the highest possible dessert endorsement. Price-wise: this isn't a cheap casual spot, but it's very reasonable for a high-quality dinner. My pasta, dessert, and service came out to almost $70, which felt fair for the experience. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was warm, and overall we had a genuinely lovely dinner. Most importantly, bringing my coworkers here made me look like I actually know what I'm doing when recommending restaurants--which is always a win. Olives or not, I'd happily come back. And next time, I'm thinking date night.
