Wow, Andy is such a skilled trainer! We have worked with multiple dog training organizations and individual trainers over the years, and you can just tell when someone really knows what they're doing. We already saw change in our dog's behavior in the first session. Andy took the time to listen at the start of the session. Sometimes trainers make assumptions about the dog or about the owners, or they start teaching you basic skills that you're already doing. Andy asks all the right questions - are you comforable with this kind of collar? have you already tried XYZ strategy? Then, he quickly customized the session for exactly what our situation needed. We have a foster dog that the shelter categorized as "offessively aggresive", in addition to one of our own dogs at home who is dog reactive. We started the session with the foster dog solo, then started doing training exercises with the foster dog + our chillest dog. By the end, Andy managed to walk both the foster dog and our reactive dog within a short distance of each other. At no time did I feel like the dogs were being pushed too far or that the situation was unsafe. He also gives great explanations about dog behavior and clear specific instructions for what to practice on your own. Amazing training experience, we're looking forward to more!

Andy is a " miracle worker" with dogs..I have a high energy , anxious, reactive Australian Kelpie/Cattle dog. Training with Andy has changed my life with my dog in the upmost positive way... I now am able ro take my dog to dog classes and outdoor cafes and events as a well behaved dog. Thank you Andy!

They are incredibly easy to contact, highly responsive, and they take wonderful care of Chico every time! He's always excited to go back, and so happy and calm when we pick him up that I can really tell he's comfortable and enjoying his time at Puppy Island. He comes back well-behaved and socialized, not freaked out from us being gone, which makes leaving for trips feel much easier! And, I think the value for the services they provide is excellent. I usually board Chico in standard boarding and really love getting a few photos of him daily -- he's always smiling from ear to ear in them and surrounded by cute doggie friends. Chico had a cherry eye flare up when he was boarded earlier this year, and they handled the situation beautifully -- they gave me options, took him to the emergency vet for a checkup, and isolated him in VIP boarding until we were sure he was okay! It was such a relief to know he was in good hands and I will forever be grateful to the staff for going the extra mile to ensure his safety and comfort throughout. I trust them completely and so appreciate that they actually know and love him, so it feels like he's at summer camp with his favorite people every time! I love Puppy Island (and so does my dog!)!

This most recent stay, she was extremely dirty--her fur was greasy, she smelled strongly of urine, and she looked like she had been living in an unclean environment. Before boarding, I asked if I could see the kennels and where the dogs sleep, but they refused to let me. Looking back, that should have been a red flag. They always ask if you'd like to pay for a bath before pickup. This time I declined because of the extra cost, and when I picked her up, it became obvious why they push that service. A dog shouldn't come home filthy simply because you didn't pay for a bath. After one bath at home, her eyes were already much better within a day. I won't be bringing my dog back, and I would not recommend this facility.

I remembered from my previous experience with Charlie that they preferred being paid in cash so when they sent me the invoice I asked if paying in cash was okay and they said that was fine. They also had stated I would be getting a slight discount ($36 a night instead of the normal $40 a night). Then at 5 am the morning of drop off I get a long paragraph stating that there was a convenience fee being added on as I didn't prepay. As it was literally the day before I had to leave, I felt no choice but to pay as I didn't have many options. The convenience fee was basically the same difference the discount Charlie gave was (I think it made my new total 3 or 4 dollars less than the original $40 a night would have added up to be). Then when I paid Charlie in person they didn't have any change and said they would give me the difference upon pickup. They also had stated that pickup was after 7 pm and when I texted them that I was on my way at around 7 pm that would be would get there at 7:15 ish. I did not get response until I had pulled up that Charlie needed to get dressed and that I needed to wait. After leaving for my trip, I texted to check in two days in a row before I got a response. Charlie said that they had sent photos and videos but I had not received anything and that things were fine. As I was traveling and only able to be on WiFi, I just passed it off as an error on my end even though all our messages were I-message and should have had any issues with sending photos. Then the next day I get text from Charlie asking if I can come after three for pickup. The stay was booked for two more and I reminded them of that. It was stated in my first submission through their website's online form as well as the invoice they had sent me in the same message thread. I will commend Charlie on being super flexible when I told them with issues with my flights being delayed as well as customs issues. I made sure to tip more heavily as they did me a huge favor. However pickup happened without them being present even when I offered to come by later when they would be around. It was not until the next day (after some much needed sleep) that I noticed some wounds/scratches on my cat that I was never informed about. If Charlie would have reached out and let me know beforehand, I would have been understanding as I know my cat was not the only one in residence upon drop off. There is a scratch on my cat's nose, a bulky scab on the interior of one of my cat's ears, and what feels like more scratches on the back of her head and neck.

During my pregnancy, it became increasingly difficult for me to maintain a daily brushing routine, especially as a first-time long-haired cat owner. George, the owner, approached the situation with kindness and understanding when discussing how matting can become uncomfortable and potentially painful for cats. While I felt disappointed in myself for not realizing the extent of the matting sooner, I truly appreciated the compassionate and nonjudgmental way the matter was handled. After seeing how comfortable and happy my cat was upon returning home from grooming, I made it a priority to resume daily brushing. Andy's Pet Grooming does an exceptional job. George and the entire team are friendly, professional, and attentive. We sincerely appreciate their care and dedication.

When I got him back, his stomach and paws were covered in dried up urine and was clearly not acting like himself. Over the next two days, he had rectal bleeding that continued for two days, refused to eat for three days, and was severely dehydrated. I immediately contacted Ruff Resort to let them know what was happening with my dog, but I never received a response. I ended up taking him to the veterinarian, where he underwent multiple examinations. Between the exams and treatment, I spent over $700 trying to determine what was wrong. The vet did confirm he was severely dehydrated. A two day boarding ultimately cost me $1000. After not hearing back, I called the facility today to ask if they were open because I wanted to speak with someone in person. They told me they had tried to text me. They claimed the first message bounced back but that a second message went through. However, I never received any text on my phone. More importantly, if a customer contacts you to report that their dog became seriously ill after staying at your facility, the appropriate response is to pick up the phone and call them--not rely on text messages, especially if you already know one message failed to deliver. The lack of urgency, communication, and concern was incredibly disappointing. My dog's health and well-being should have been the priority, and instead I was left dealing with a very sick dog, expensive veterinary bills, and no meaningful response from the facility.
