Finally a decent and decently priced sushi place close to my house! I've been on a mission to try all the sushi in Baton Rouge; this place is in the top 10 percent. I wasn't a fan of the tropical roll (pictured. the sauce is pepper jelly..... which is so weird to me... and the crunchy inside wasn't good). Other than that everything was great. I ordered on Uber Eats and they dont upcharge their menu which makes it so affordable! Their sashimi salad is only $9 which is really cheap compared to any other place. Something I was impressed with was the rice... rice quality really makes or breaks sushi and theirs was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My side of rice was still warm when it got to me. My family's go to for sushi lately. Only offering takeout due to COVID, but no worries for us. We call ahead and go inside (masks required). Food is always ready when they say it'll be, and the system seems very organized. A worker at a table rings me up, I pay, and grab my prepared bag to go. I have ordered online before, but I believe the prices are higher as it's a 3rd party website...unless that's changed over time of course. Great quality sushi and very consistent as we get pretty much the same rolls every time. Prices are good too. Was looking for something lunch on a cold rainy day to warm me up. I saw online that they had 3 types of ramen, so I headed over. The place was empty. We were a little late for lunch, but being the only table did give me pause. Looked at the sushi and main menus. Lots to choose from, but I really wanted to try the ramen. I ordered the pork broth ramen and shrimp tempura (my mom really wanted to try that). It took 15 minutes for the tempura to show up at our table. There was a generous portion and it was hot, but it was also really greasy. After another 15 minutes the ramen came to our table. It looked really good and smelled great. The positives stop there. The broth was watery, tasteless and worse, it was luke warm. The noodles were over cooked and water logged. The "soft boiled" egg was cold (yes it was cold in the middle) and it was hard boiled. The server was super friendly, but that does not make up for the underwhelming food we were served. Most of the reviews rave about the sushi. We got: -Tropical roll: Crunchy roll w/ salmon and mango, and tropical fruit sauce -LSU roll: softshell crab w/ snowcrab ontop -Sexy girl roll: salmon, tuna, yellowtail inside. Top with torched whitefish with scallions and ponzu. All sushi rolls were delicious! The torched whitefish with ponzu was amazing! We also tried a beef yaki udon and curry udon. Tiger Sushi has amazing food for the cheapest price! My co-workers and I go on our lunch break at least once a week. I get the Bento Box every time. I can never finish it there is so much food! I am not really sure what the sauce is that the crab stick is in. It looked really sketchy the first time I went, but after trying it I put it on everything!!! This is one of my top lunch spots. The staff always offers a friendly greeting and the service is quick and attentive. The sushi is good, but the value is even better. My favorite rolls from the lunch menu are the salmon avocado and snow crab roll (served with soup and salad for $8!). I have tried some of their cooked items as well, but prefer their sushi much more. The bento boxes give a nice variety but the chef is a little heavy-handed with the sauces. This is my family's "go to" sushi place in town when we want fresh sushi. We also like coming here as the family that runs it is so nice and personable. They remember us each time we come by. I get the sashimi plate and spicy seafood soup. My son gets tempura and my wife always gets a seaweed salad and a roll or sashimi plate like me. The sashimi pieces are always thick, cold and melt like butter. The fish here NEVER tastes fishy. It's always fresh and no soy sauce or wasabi needed unless you like that. The tempura is always more than my son can finish so we always have a box to go home for lunch the next day. read more

I have been searching for good crab rangoon in Baton rouge and I believe I just found my new go to spot for it! I was sooooo excited after I tasted it. The perfect balance of flavors. It complimented the sushi well. The salmon was very fresh and good quality. Dumplings were perfectly pan fried. The shrimp on the nigiri was a little overcooked for my personal preference but I would order it again! Overall this place is amazing. Went for take out Saturday around 12:30 pm. In this location---a strip mall---is another sushi/Japanese establishment --WakaHouse which I will try next time. When I arrived there was a couple dining in and before I left another couple---appear to be regulars at Tiger Sushi --showed up. The host was nice and efficient---ordered 4 selections Philadelphia roll, spicy eel, rock n roll and volcano roll. All had flavor and potential and presentation for a to go order was acceptable however none were exceptional. In this area at 1 time there were many sushi options but now I do not believe there are many---I am still willing to return here to try it again although I will try WakaHouse as well in an effort to find the next close sushi location to me. read more

This place is near my workplace. I was searching online for the best lunch value near me and found this place. I decided to give it a try bc the price was good plus you got a lot of stuff. I ordered the lunch roll: 2 your choice of two rolls, garden salad, and miso soup for $8. I was greeted by a very nice and sweet man. The place looks great and they were busy when I came. I work near here, and it's almost impossible to resist their lunch special! You can get 2 rolls, salad, and soup for around $8!! With the amount of food you get, this deal can't be beat. First time visit on Friday night. What appears to be a family run business, very pleasant staff. Small place with a sushi bar and a mix of tables and booths. Decent selection of beverages, and all the standard rolls, plus a page of house specialty rolls. Very good prices compared to other sushi restaurants in town, with standard rolls in the $5 range and the specialty rolls in the $12-15 range. We ordered a mix of standard and specialty rolls. All were fresh and well executed, with our favorite being their poboy roll. A huge roll, we found it easiest to pick up and eat in two bites. The young man waiting on us was very pleasant, though when the crowd grew, he was scrambling to keep everyone supplied with drink refills and such. In any case, this is a nice addition to our sushi rotation and someplace to bring my grown sons who can plow through some sushi. read more

Wonderful experience as always! This is our go to for fried rice and sushi. It's consistently good and the service is great.

I have heard some pretty good things about this place, so I thought I would try them out. I had two sushi rolls, a spicy tuna and a soft shelled crab roll. The tuna roll was spicy and was paired with cucumber with the rice on the outside; it would have been much better with the rice on the inside and much less cucumber as the taste of it diluted the taste of tuna. As for the soft shell crab roll, it was paired with cucumber and lettuce with some sauce on top. The crab wasn't fried very well; the crab had a dusty consistency, not that characteristic crunch I love. Again, too much cucumber in the sushi. I feel like they were trying to cut costs with a disregard to quality. As a paying customer, I didn't get my money's worth and that upset me enough to give the restaurant a low rating. Also, the end piece was cut too thin to pick up with chop sticks. I heard a couple in the place raving about their cucumber salad. (They seem to be heavy on the cucumber.) Come to think of it, if you like cucumber, this place is for you. For the service, my server was at my table in under 30 seconds and he was very attentive to me; my water glass was always full. Excellent job on the service. But let's face it -- the tables were empty. And even good service won't make up for mediocre food. read more

Went to Tiger Sushi for lunch with a bunch of coworkers. The employees were kind enough to work with us on splitting up checks and bringing out meals as they were ready. Unfortunately that was the only good aspect of Tiger Sushi. When I looked at the menu the $8 sushi lunch box looked too good to be true - two rolls of your choice, soup and salad. Sadly, it WAS too good to be true. The soup was fine, but the cucumber in the salad was so old that it was squishy. The spicy tuna roll was ok, but the rice wasn't really sushi rice and was kind of hard and undercooked. My second roll was inedible; the salmon in the salmon and avocado roll was so old a fishy that I nearly had to spit it out. I left starving, able to choke down less than half of my food, and I will not be returning there for sushi. Ever. read more

I swear, people in baton rouge wouldn't know good sushi if their lives depended on it. This place is hands down one of the most authentic and delicious sushi restaurants in BR. We've been going here for 2 years now and have never had bad service or food. The fish is always fresh, never chemically tasting or "fishy". The same family (i'm guessing) has always served us and they remember us when we come in, very frendly. Some of these reviews are ridiculous! I highly recommend the Ramen noodle bowl, the big easy roll, and the tiger roll. Edit: PS. Don't come here if you don't like raw (aka real) sushi.
