My partner and I both ordered the taro/boba/taro pudding drink, which was very good! Taro is always a favorite but this was my first time trying the actual taro root in the drink, which I was intrigued by. It helps to cut the sweetness of the drink and since I don't like things tooooo sweet, it was great for me! Their boba pearls were delish as well. The staff were super friendly and they had our drinks ready FAST! Probably less than 90 seconds. Visiting Michigan and found the nearest boba spot. I've been to Tiger Sugar's in other locations and have never had the experience I had at this location. Both individuals working behind the counter seemed extremely confused and didn't know the menu. Not only confused with my questions, but with questions others were asking as well. I ordered a red bean matcha and the only thing with some flavor in the drink were the red beans. There was absolutely no matcha flavor at all. Simply tasted like the almond milk they used. I was first introduced to Tiger Sugar when I lived in NYC in 2020 (during COVID). When I seen that they opened a location in Madison Heights, I became ecstatic and needed to check it out. When I first walked in, the server greeted me and was beyond sweet asking if I need any assistance and I shared I was well aware the items. I ended up getting two of my favorite drinks, Black Sugar Boba with pudding (#5) and Brown Sugar Boba with Taro + Taro Pudding (#7). The boba was chewy and well prepared and the pudding was divined. My friend and I went to Tiger Sugar as part of a Yelp event. There are so many boba places at this point it is very hard to choose, so it was nice have a good reason to try this specific place. They are primarily a drink place, it looks like they have a couple snacks, but it is focused on boba drink options. My friend is allergic to dairy, and the staff was able to show her plenty of options, or changes, that she could have. I think their boba pearls were particularly good, I've had ones that are not. My friend wondered if they made them as they seemed fresh. They were the perfect level of chewy. I tried the pudding in mine as I'd never had it before. It was not my preference, I did not like the texture in the drink. I do not hold that against Tiger Sugar, others may really like it. They have a small seating area where we had our drinks. They either did not have a restroom or it was closed, there was a hall marked off where they may have one. We also tried the passion fruit green tea which was good, but the star of the show was the classic milk tea boba! Staff were super nice offering to help and answer any questions. This was my first time here and the employee who helped me was very welcoming and explained there were different milk alternative options: whole, 2% milk, lactose free or oat milk. I ordered #4 (Tiger Meet Coffee) and subbed oat milk for dairy with less sugar and ice. I was surprised how dark the drink looked, and it didn't have the Instagram worthy "tiger stripes" the franchise is famous for. I took a picture immediately after it was made, before shaking it up. You can clearly see it contained very little milk. I enjoyed the texture and chewiness of the boba but it lacked the creaminess of the milk. The espresso was too strong for my liking and not balanced with 1/2 espresso and 1/2 milk like a traditional latte. Next time I'll order a fruit tea or ask for more milk. The mango drink or black tea with lychee popping boba sounds delicious! I would love to come back and try those. I was in the area and swung by to get the #1 brown sugar milk with boba and pearls. I had the lactose free milk, and since it was a hot day I didn't make any adjustments to the ice. It was simply refreshing! The larger and smaller tapioca were the perfect, soft texture. The brown sugar flavor was still strong, but the sweetness was perfect, and probably tempered by the milk. As I walked in, I saw they had a new offering: jumbo boba. I asked what it was and apparently it's spheres of coffee jelly that are meant to break up as you sip on the drink, or else they won't fit through the straw otherwise. Parking is pretty easy here as it's location in a strip mall so you'll have no problem finding a spot. When you enter you'll notice the decor looks very nice and clean. They're small tables inside, however I understand many if not all customers will just take their drinks to go. I ended up ordering Black Sugar Boba+ Pearl Milk for around $6.00 and it was soooo tasty! Now it's super sweet in my opinion so if you are not looking for a sweet drink I'd stay away or try something else. Of course with boba you want to shake your drink to mix everything around. The staff seem nice and took had my order out very quickly (granted, I was the only one in the store) so they made my drink in like 40 seconds it seemed. I drank it so far In my car that I thought about going back in and getting another one, but I will save that for another visit. This time I got the Black Sugar Chocolate Chip Milk with Less Sugar and Less Ice. It had the signature Tiger Sugar milky brown sugar taste, still on the slightly sweeter side for my preferences. The boba texture was exactly the same as every single time before. The chocolate chips were not really chocolate chips - I think they were crumbled up Oreos or some kind of other chocolate biscuit. I haven't had anything bad from this location yet. If there was one complaint I could give is that it's more expensive for the size vs. other boba places. $8+ for a large drink vs. other places nearby that are closer to $6. read more

Tiger Sugar may have my favorite brown sugar boba that I've had so far. The brown sugar syrup is so thick and has a depth of flavor you don't always get from brown sugar. A good brown sugar has that deep molasses, caramel-ish flavor and this one nails it. I went for the brown sugar pudding boba and it had a nice serving of a rich, eggy pudding on top of the beverage that breaks up nicely and adds some extra interest to the drink besides the tapioca pearls. My mom had the regular brown sugar boba and she also proclaimed it her favorite of all the bobas she's tried (and we try a lot together, it's our new mother/daughter activity!). I also got a couple bags of their black sugar popcorn and it was SOOO good. It's essentially caramel corn but made with their black sugar (aka Taiwanese brown sugar) and it's flavorful without being overly sweet. A drink here is definitely a splurge treat but I wish I could have it every day! Loved the whole experience. Been wanting to try this place since I knew it was in LA. Hadn't tried it when I was there though! It opened here pretty recently, so we went to check it out. They specialize in different kinds of brown sugar milk tea. But I decided to stick with a tea drink without the milk. I chose the golden oolong tea drink with boba. It was very delicious! And at 50% sweetness, maybe just a bit too sweet but not bad! My sisters got the black sugar milk tea with mousse and the black sugar coffee latte with mousse. They didn't get to choose their sweetness, but the drinks weren't all that sweet! Definitely impressed!! The young woman at the register said that her favorite from the tea options was the black sugar black tea latte. I'd probably try that next time. Staff was nice! I can finally review Tiger Sugar! I have been here three times now - the first time was an influencer invite (i.e., complimentary drink) and the second time was for the Yelp Elite event (YEE). My boyfriend and I went here a week or so ago as paying customers. The first and third times I went here I got drink #4 or #5, I believe - it's a regular milk tea but with chocolate malt. What I love about Tiger Sugar is they offer soy milk or lactose-free milk options; the first time I got the drink, I got it with lactose-free milk, which was okay but did leave an aftertaste. Last time I got it with soy milk. Last time the drink was still delicious but even after shaking it the recommended 15 times, the malt was still kind of clumpy, for some reason. The second time I went here I got a vanilla black tea drink which was also fantastic. The staff here is also very caring - they ask you if you need the milk to be lactose-free, and ask if you have been in before, so they can tell you about the "15 shakes" method (ideally you shake your drink 15 times before drinking it). I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu ... it's only about a 10-minute drive from my house, too. The only thing that stops me from going like every day or week is that drinks are about $6 each - last time it was $14 for two drinks and tip. read more

The drink tasted only like milk to both of us. It was more bland than I thought it would be. However, I do love sugary drinks and I was expecting it to be more sweet. Perhaps it is because I chose this particular one. It has a natural home made taste to it. The cream mousse did not really have a taste to it, it did add texture to it though. Fun name. Black and gold theme. Ordered a black sugar boba + Pearl, chocolate malt milk (soy milk) with cream mousse. Ugh. I was regretting and wishing I had gotten a cheese mousse chocolate drink after one sip. It was not good and left a bad aftertaste as well. I shook the drink 30 times to get some chocolate mixed into the drink. It tastes like oat milk only, no hint of chocolate at all. I asked if they could add more chocolate. They said no. All ingredients are standardized to make it taste the best. I said I don't like the flavor of the drink at all. The guy said that's because I chose the oat milk. I said I like oat milk, but I want to taste the chocolate some. He apologized that adding more chocolate is not possible. They said they could make me any other drink for free. I said I wanted chocolate. They asked if I wanted a refund and I said yes. The drinks are filled up top to bottom with tons of ice, mostly milk and milk and a bit of boba and pearls and maybe a few drops of chocolate for color. It felt like a lot of smoke and mirrors show here. I asked for water to clean my mouth out of the drink residue from the sip. I couldn't get rid of the taste. Tiger sugar was definitely not for me. Okay. Tiger Sugar was the hype a few years back on both coasts and people would rave about how delicious the boba was. I've heard about how sweet and tasty brown sugar boba is and have always been curious about why it's so good. As always, Michigan is pretty late to the game. But it's better late than never, am I right?? Today was the day for me to finally try it. I got the #4 (best seller, apparently) which is the "Black Sugar Boba + Pearl Coffee Latte with Cream Mousse". Sadly, I could not adjust the sugar level for this drink, so I had to prepare myself for the amount of sugar I was about to inhale. I'm a 0% or 30% sugar kind of person, and I expected the sweetness to punch me square in the face. Boba came out like the "tiger stripes" as promised, and I gave it about 15 shakes or so to mix everything up well. Fortunately, it was not like that at all. I would say the sweetness is about 50-75% at a generic boba shop. It was a too sweet for me, but then again, I have low tolerance. I liked the brown sugar sweetness and the chewiness of the boba (which is also sweetened). Also, great coffee taste! It really came through nicely. I can see why people went nuts over tiger sugar boba but can't say I'm a huge fan myself. I could barely taste the tea in my drink (mainly just sweet milk with some coffee) and didn't like that the pearls were different sizes, which threw me off a bit. Great bubble tea shop! I've come here a couple times and the drinks are so so tasty. I would say to halve the sugar though, the standard sugar is too sweet for me. I love the fresh taro and I always make sure to order it since I don't usually find it at other boba places.
