Apparently the workers get scared by the customers. Don't come in during Halloween.

If you look past it's all over the place interior, there's a certain natural beauty that appears. Besides the fact that it looks like Hawaii-themed Asian market. (who wants some Popping Pearl Harbors!) For one, the best background music playlist to any restaurant. Playing nothing but bangers, back to back Charli XCX, Tribe Called Quest, JPEGMAFIA, it's a nice touch that exemplifies the greatest quality of Ferndale. Its diversity. It blends because it does, not because it should. Personally, I quite liked the Tiger Milk Tea because of how the cloudy texture of its tapiocas complement the chocolatey chai latte. I got a large cup of French Vanilla Milk Tea with Green Apple Popping Pearls, although the vanilla flavor didn't exactly pop like I hoped it would, even with a little bit of sugar. Before I left I decided to get a piece of the Matcha Mochi Waffle, which was very addictive, we ate the whole thing within seconds. It's more a tear-and-share type of bite so grab a couple if you can. I thought the waffle was particularly a nice finishing touch to our visit. One thing I'd like to add, there's a post-it note wall on the left side of the café where you can stick a drawing on the wall for the world to see. Me and my girlfriend decided to do our part. Definitely some type of competition, something out of our pay grade for sure. 4/5

Was craving some boba so we headed down to Quickly this past weekend. Parking is always kind of rough in downtown Ferndale but we were able to find a spot in the attached lot. Service was quick, you order at a kiosk and they call out your name and they had tons of options to choose from. The large is HUGE, a really great value. Good amount of boba and great flavor. Super cute place!

I was in Ferndale for the Art and DIY fair and wanted to get some boba. Quickly was the only place open nearby. Classic Black Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, Less Ice, Large w/ Boba ($6.15) - This is a very large drink - a huge one liter cup that barely fits into a standard cup holder. I haven't been to a Quickly in a while and forgot just how big a large was. They definitely give you your money's worth in terms of drink quantity. The drink itself actually has a decently fragrant black tea taste - much better than what I can say about many boba shops in Metro Detroit that just taste like sweetened creamer. Added bonus that it's dairy free. Half sweet was perfect for the drink. The downside really is the boba - this location way overcooks the boba, making it mushy and losing most of the chewiness. Quickly is the Great Value of boba shops and is typically average to lower tier in most large metros. The Quickly location is Ferndale isn't much different, nothing too special, but decent if you're in the area.

This business has new computer screens to order (to cut down on employees maybe?) and I found it a little confusing. I had a few questions and asking the employees was a little awkward/ hard to get their attention. There were a ton of options but not much information or descriptions of the drinks. I ended up just going with the tiger milk tea since I have had it before. Their milk teas are not made with dairy so they taste watered down... not sure what "milk" they do use. My friend wanted oolong tea but had to settle for jasmine green tea, not sure if they have any unsweetened options based on the computer. I did like that they let you choose the percentage of sugar that you wanted in your drink. The #1 thing to improve this place would to include better descriptions of the drinks on the ordering computers or on a chalk board. Also- have a dairy option for MILK tea!

Quick, friendly staff and good drinks. The TJ milk is the my favorite with tapioca and sometimes milk pudding. Don't get the large, it's huge!

I love this place! I recently discovered it and I've DD them weekly. My go-to favorites are the Taro Milk Tea w/ tapioca and Spam Musubi. The Taro/Ube is the best combination of sweet and refreshing. And you can never go wrong with ordering the Spam Musubi. I've also tried the BEAST and that was is a yummy one if I want a sugary drink. The Nutella Mochi Waffle is also to die for! It's the right amount of Nutella where it's not too sweet but just enough to be satisfied.

Ooh. Bubble tea. Always a good drink after a spicy and hot pho soup. We ordered and paid at the two kiosks below the wall menu. Ordered a mango slushy with boba and a Oreo slushy with chocolate flavoring added to it. The bobas are soft and chewy, nice. The mango slush wasn't bad. The Oreo slush tastes better to me than the mango. The man handing out the order seems quite warm and friendly. Total is $10.87.

In the nicest way possible, I really don't understand why Quickly has been able to open so many locations around metro Detroit. I have now tried their Troy location, Ann Arbor location (the sadness that it replaced Bubble Island still stings), and most recently, this Ferndale location. All are consistently TERRIBLE. Their drink flavors taste so watered down or just totally miss the mark on taste, and their boba balls are not good. Seriously, if you either love boba or are just trying it out, Quickly is NOT the place to go for boba. I have tried a wide range of all of their drinks and they are all not IT. There are SO many boba shops in all the places Quickly is located in that offer much better drinks. TO BE FAIR though, what is consistently decent/good at Quickly is their food. Their mochi waffles are delicious and their snack foods, like the popcorn chicken and etc., are great as well. If I'm in the mood for some hot Asian bites and am near a Quickly, I would not be mad about ordering some bits from here. But also, when I came to Quickly, it was a Tuesday afternoon, so definitely off hours. All of their food was sold out, except for their mochi waffles, which made me think that they probably just didn't have food items in stock to begin with. My friend and I both ordered mochi waffles (1 matcha, 1 nutella) from the kiosks and then waited for the orders to be made. This isn't a mark against them because I know every business is struggling with staffing right now, but I just wanted to indicate in this review that at the time there was only one person working the entire store and fulfilling everyone's orders, so I definitely waited a while, I'd say about 20-30 minutes, for the mochi waffles. I wasn't in a hurry, so it was no big deal, and it also gave me the opportunity to notice that so many Doordash people came in to pick up orders. WHAT ARE PEOPLE ORDERING HERE AND DO THEY KNOW THERE ARE BETTER BOBA DRINKS OUT THERE?! Around 15-20 minutes of waiting in, one or two more employees managed to come in, so that's when things started to pick up and orders began to be fulfilled quicker. All the employees were SO friendly and after each order fulfilled they would apologize profusely for the wait. I definitely appreciate their kindness and awareness that it was taking a while, but also am so so sympathetic knowing that help is hard to come by these days! So my 3-star review has absolutely NOTHING to do with the service being slow, because I appreciate and will consistently come back here for their food and their friendly, great service. It has everything to do with the poor quality of their drinks and how they can market themselves as a boba shop when

Today I got the regular strawberry raspberry sour plum slush with aloe and strawberry jelly's service was fast friendly and full of smiles. There's a spot up front out side for seating. Bring a friendly dog. Self service kiosks may shorten your wait time to order. They have custom menus for when your tired of the regular menu.

I was delightfully surprised by my visit here. It seems to be in the old mead space, so it is a bit small and awkward. It is also not as aesthetically pleasing or homey as the Troy location, but we were waiting for this spot to open. We tried three teas, match milk, mango slush, and strawberry green tea. They were delicious! I was also shocked at how big the larges were, they were like buckets of tea. I have so much left it will take me days to consume and that is not a bad thing since it was about $5.25 a tea before toppings! They were friendly enough in there and they did sell snacks. I did not get a chance to try the snacks. I hope they are as good as the Troy location, but I am sure we will find out since we will be back soon.

If you want quick and tasty boba tea... look for further. Tried it for the first time and got another friend hooked. Pros: -FLAVOR SELECTION: they have sooooo many flavors to choose from and many of them are inherently vegan friendly which is an extra plus - Price: very cost effective -Quality: overall solid. Not the worst but it can hang with some of my favorites. - You can stack up rewards using Snackpass Cons: - I wish they had a better description of flavors unique to their store that were available on their mobile site. Tried the Okinawa milk tea and didn't know it had chocolate. Ruined it for me. I could have asked the store reps but I had ordered in advance Great place for your boba/ bubble tea fix

I understand you eat them "cold" but it was like they pre-rolled them & they sat all day in the fridge until it was ordered. I came in around 845PM. Felt the same temp as my ice cold water they brought out. Pork & shrimp very thin. Peanut sauce was very little, def not enough for 2 rolls. Took one small bite & took it home. As a Vietnamese, Very disappointed. Gave this place another shot & I wish I would've spent my $20 elsewhere. I rlly wanted to like them since they open an hour later than other local joints & it's close to where I stay. Sucks, just got back from airport needed some liquid gold in my life. Came in & ordered in Vietnamese, & she didn't understand me. I should've just walked out idk if it was because I came late, or what. I walked in someone was already there, they had a couple of carry outs, but another table of 2 came in. I took my time sifting thru the noodles to make sure I wasn't tripping. Just go the extra 5-7 mins & stick to Madison heights area or go home & make some eggs & rice til the next day. TO ME, It's rlly not worth it as a Vietnamese person, but you may have a different experience & I hope that you do! I saw good reviews on yelp and…read morethought I should give it a try though I was weary (I can usually tell a good boba shop just from the pictures online). When I walked in, it seemed pretty bare but I like that there was spaced out seating. Other than that, the ambience is definitely lacking. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee and it was... not a Vietnamese coffee. Vietnamese coffee is meant to have a strong flavor and have a rich but subtle sweetness from the sweetened condensed milk. What I got was poor quality black coffee with too much sweet creamer. I checked out the ramen bar just to see what it was but it was also lacking. There were many options and I didn't see any toppings of any kind (I'm think they were refrigerated but it would have been nice to have them displayed in a fridge next to the area; maybe it was and I missed it).. I can also tell they are attempting to go for a third space type of vibe with board games and things but the space they have created isn't inviting enough to uphold that environment. As far as the service goes, he was very kind and patient which goes a long way. I asked him if he could just add a little more coffee so it wasn't as sweet and he said that he could just remake it for me and that he wanted me to enjoy my drink. It was far above what I expected and I really respect that. The drink was again, not very good because it just wasn't Vietnamese coffee, but the service was very thoughtful. I just didn't feel right asking him to make a whole other drink I would like because I didn't like the one I had (I'm not a Karen lol). I'm sure other fruity drinks or the dalgona coffee is better that what I had and I just happened to choose poorly off the menu, but I do strongly believe businesses shouldn't just add popular drinks to their menu to bring people in but focus strongly on what they are good at. It's always better to have a small menu of well curated and crafted drinks than a large menu of drink with some of them not quite perfected. With that being said, I probably won't be back but I hope they can find what they are best at, hone in on it, and grow a lot! I see huge potential in this store being quite popular if they make a few changes. Best wishes to them!
