My wife and I were looking for a dim sum place near where we were as we walked back to our hotel,…read moreand One Dim Sum popped up on Yelp! We arrived around 4:30, and it was not a problem getting a table although the place was busy. They sat us in the window looking out on the street. The service was prompt, and the menu had a lot of options. We placed an order for seven different small dishes. In short order, the dishes arrived one by one. We were tired from the flight over, but the food picked us up. We got the chicken dumplings, the pork dumplings, the minced beef meatballs, an onion pancake, spring rolls, and a few more items. Everything seemed freshly cooked. The food was good but did not wow us. They give you soy sauce for the dim sum, but I would have liked additional sauces. I did ask for some hot sauce, and they brought me a chili oil sauce which was very good. The staff were very friendly and happy to help with any request. The price was reasonable (two of us for under $50 Euros). The decor is neat and clean. I would definitely recommend.

I once had the chance to be in their backyard and see how they prepare their meat. They actually roast them on open fire which requires a lot of skill and patience. Most of the items they offer are tasty and of good quality but I especially recommend to order the items I mentioned above and the Char Siu. Their Char Siu is sweet, savory, moist, juicy and glistening. Very delightful. The Peking Duck is good. I can't say it is mind blowing but it is definitely worth it. The pancakes they offer with the Peking Duck are like mini pillowy tacos. The suckling pig is just amazing. Very flavorful and very well seasoned. SERVICE We have been a customer for years and while we only visit the restaurant a few times throughout the year, we are usually been treated with care. So I can't really complain about the service but I wouldn't say its the best I've seen. ATMOSPHERE This is an old fashioned Chinese restaurant like you have seen them so many times over in Europe. At peak times I would recommend to reserve a table. They can be packed quite fast. RATING Five stars actually have crossed my mind a few times but for that I think the overall picture needs to step up. From the plating to a more welcoming and lovely service to a revamp of their place. We are already past those old fashioned and dark Chinese restaurants. That said I can't recommend them enough if you want to eat some yummy authentic Cantonese food.

Adorning one of the walls are solar powered neko cats that wave to you from the window. On the walls are interesting art pieces, one in particular with instructions on how best to enjoy ramen. Serving us most the night was the main chef himself who observed us smile with ease at every first bite we took of each dish served. The food was quite good. Small portioned with intentions to share with others; three to four dishes are plenty for a party of two. We were starving so we ordered quite a bit. Sashimi was okay, nothing worth raving about. However, they did have two types of soy sauce for sashimi. They had the traditional Kikkoman soy sauce which is often used for sushi and sashimi and then they had the Shibanuma soy, which was ever so slightly thicker and sweeter IMO. The Shibanuma is meant intentionally to be tasted with sushi and sashimi, not to be cooked with as the server mentioned. It was tasty, most defintely. Honorable mentions were the mongolian beef stew, which came piping hot and delicious. Picture does not do the dish justice. Meat was fall apart tender, full of spice and flavor. Probably best paired with a neutral side, like white rice but we got stir fried udon noodles instead. Udon noodles were delicious as well. Simple yet well made. Noodles had good chew to them and came out piping hot. Overall, nice restaurant to try out if you're in East Amsterdam by oosterpark and craving good variety asian food.
