I found this Tea Shop hidden in the middle of the Mystic Village. I always missed it on my previous visits! You can buy loose leaf tea or you can buy freshly brewed tea from the select menu. All teas are $3.50 for iced or hot, and sweetened or unsweetened. The loose leaf is placed in the cup so the cup comes with a filter in the sip spout. I've never seen anything like that and I thought it was so cool! Their tea is really great and I definitely be getting it on each visit from now on! read more

The first time I found tiger Lily tea was back in 2015 when I lived in Connecticut. We visited the mystic village a few times and we stopped in the tea store but didn't end up buying anything. Fast forward to 2020 pre-covid and I found myself in New England again and visited mystic village. On my first trip back this year, I was impressed with the lady working behind the counter and her extensive knowledge of teas, both organic and conventional as well as local and from overseas. They had an amazing selection of herbal teas as well as caffeinated teas in many different flavors. I ended up purchasing their mint medley tea which was a wonderful combination of chamomile and mint which was perfect for a cup before bed. We fell in love with this tea so much that I tried to purchase other teas online that did the same thing but nothing came close. Once the pandemic hit, we didn't have any options to get replacements of this tea for a while. However, last week, as things were beginning to lift, I called the tea store to see if they were accepting in person customers. They said that they were and I made my way over. Again I was impressed with the lady behind the counter and the way that they kept their store clean. All of the items were behind a shower curtain of sorts and the lady doing the selling and packaging had a veritable arsenal of hand sanitizers, gloves, masks and other things to keep both the customers and herself well and away from germs. I picked up two bags of the mint medley and also one of another tea to try and I left glad to know that they were still in business and glad to have my tea back. Prices are a little bit high for the quantity of the tea that you get but I think that the quality is very good. They have a very extensive selection and they also sell tea by the cup that is already brewed which is great for those cold mornings or long winter days. I think tiger lily tea is a great addition to mystic village and I hope that they stay in business in this post covid world. read more

Tiger lily is a must stop at old mistick village! They offer a lot of different types of tea leaves as well as tea accessories such as bottles and tea cups. They have jars of all the different tea leaves so that customers can smell it. If you are not someone to make tea at home, they also offer to go cups! You can try a cup of any of the teas there for $3.50! You can get it iced or hot, sweetened or unsweetened. The to go cups have a filter lid so that no tea leaves will go in your mouth as you drink. The owner is super friendly and knowledgeable in tea. My go to is the cherry rose tea. They also have traditional Chinese tea that isn't available anywhere else in the area. read more

I stopped by during the summer of 2016. The quality of products and service was fine. I'm just posting this update so that I can add a photo showing you what I discovered a couple months later when I ran out of one of the teas I purchased from the shop. When I Googled it, I discovered the Angel Falls Mist tea was made by Metropolitan Tea Company; everything on the MTC bag is copied verbatim onto Tigerlily's bag, which appears to have home-printed labels. (If you look closely, you can tell it's an inkjet printer). In academia, we call this plagiarism. The MTC bag was $10 for 100 grams ($0.10 per gram), whereas Tigerlily's bag was $6.85 for 28 grams ($0.24 per gram). The steeping instructions were also identical on both bags. In the shop, Tigerlily claims its teas are organic, but there is no certification labeling on any of the bags (e.g. USDA organic label, etc.). I will let you draw your own conclusions at this point. I personally would not return to Tigerlily for any of my teas. read more

Located in olde mystic, a tiny tea shop that carries a mass variety of teas. Owned by a happily married couple who actually knows their stuff when it comes to teas. I really wanted to start getting into teas but when I go to places that sell tea, they usually just push products in your face without any explanation. The owners gave me instructions on how much tea leaves to place in a mug, and the preparation needed of each tea that I was interested in. On each bag of tea, there are info on where it was picked, when and by who. Gives it a personal feel to the tea that you consume. I really loved the experience and the jasmine pearl tea that I bought from them. I grabbed a business card so that I could mention them by name but I lost it, and my memory sucks when it comes to names. I think this store is definitely a must to check out, whether you are already into tea or a noobie like me. read more

As a tea lover, this place was paradise!! A room full of completely organic selections from many regions. The proprietor was super knowledgable and helpful with all of our questions. We purchased 3 iced teas to go (blueberry, jasmine and lemon/mango). The flavors were subtle, yet distinguished. She always recommends the best teas to try. She has a variety of teas you can take to go. The shop has special filtered tea cups to go, you can get a few uses out of them. Cute tea shop with friendly staff and a large variety of teas. I picked up a very nice mint tea and a tea called "First Day of Spring" which has dried strawberries in it and is delicious. A shop called Sticky Situations that is located in the same village offers honey pairings to go with the teas you purchase from Tiger Lily which is so fun. I picked up a hibiscus honey for the spring tea and a ginger honey. read more

This place is part of my family weekend ritual. Sunday's can be pretty hectic but it never fails- you'll always be greeted with a warm smile and a calming, zen atmosphere. This place only has two seats to sit on, as they do enjoy company and conversation, but to not be misleading, I must say that this is a tea shop and not really a cafe. Adam and Losit are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable- after all, they travel to China to get all of the teas they sell! You can order just about any of their HUGE selection of teas and I haven't had one that I haven't liked yet. We were in Mystic specifically for this shop. My two daughters fancy themselves hot tea snobs. So we needed to find a specialty place. Because of the size when you first walk in you may not think much, but once you start looking around, you will find it fascinating. The owners take the art of tea seriously. The husband was busy with a customer, but just listening to him was really interesting. The wife, I believe who is from China, was extremely helpful with the hardware and explaining how to best use all of the various items, pots, infusers.... They had some really unique items. The tea selection is loose leaf and had stuff I had never heard of. They also had great gift packages. If you are a tea snob, it is worth the trip. read more

I am so happy that I found this is lovely little tea shop! The owners of Tiger Lily Tea are very nice, and informative. The prices of the teas are great, as well. They have gorgeous flowering teas, delicious herbal teas, matcha, oolong, and so much more! The watermelon oolong smells heavenly, almost like candy. Their flowering teas bloom beautifully, and you can also re-steep (is that a word?) them. I definitely want to try a lot more than I purchased. And I love that they have organic teas.They pointed me towards their Facebook page to have me check out all of their traveling pictures. It is awesome that they have been all over, and know exactly where their teas come from. Absolutely perfect customer service and tea! My husband and I stumbled upon this awesome place on our outing to Mystic from Warwick, RI. I have a passion for tea, so I was super excited to find this place. We were welcomed by the warm, inviting, and enthusiastic shop owners as soon as we walked through the doors. Their selection of Chinese teas, loose teas, and tea accessories were amazing. Any time we had a question, they were eager to answer. They offer free samples of the teas in their inventory! The best part is that they know the origin, history, and even the Tea Master for their teas! The teas are freshly packed and wonderfully priced.
