Let me start with this: getting to Tiempo Miami felt less like following directions and more like being dropped into a full-blown scavenger hunt--with no prize guaranteed at the end. Our GPS proudly led us in a perfect little circle like it was training for a NASCAR event. After three laps and mild confusion, we discovered the magic words: 14th Terrace. Not Street. Not Avenue. Terrace. Miami, why are there so many options?
But once we solved the riddle and actually stepped inside, it was like entering a completely different world: clean, modern, and quietly confident. The menu is small, which I secretly love--because small menus usually mean they actually know what they're doing instead of juggling 47 dishes and hoping for the best.
We both ordered the grilled chicken with white rice, black beans, and sweet plantains, and let me tell you... perfection. The chicken was tender and juicy, seasoned just enough to enhance--not disguise--the flavor. The beans were delicious, the rice was on point, and the plantains were that perfect level of sweet where you briefly question whether you should order an extra plate "for the table" (aka for yourself).
Spanish music played softly in the background, setting the vibe just right. Between the soundtrack and the food, we could've stayed longer than planned.
Five stars, no hesitation.
Tiempo Miami earned every single one--even after making us work to find the front door. read more
