( we need no added egg options and they also mentioned everything including veggies are fried in Beef Tallow) I do wish they would have taken the time to read our message as I booked the table at least 4 days in advance. We got drinks. Tried the prickly pear margarita cocktail, the pear no-garita mocktail, espresso martini, spiced pear old fashioned but sadly nothing was too delicious. For appetizers we got the cast iron shrimp which was Yummy with capers. And the olives were okay. We also got the roasted artichoke that was good. The kids meal was good too. For the main course we got a pizza it was nice and thin crust. We also tried the Oktoberfest bratwurst which was nice and flavorful. The burger was. Great too and the quesadilla. The best one was the spicy Diablo shrimp. Also Tiramisu was great and tasted very authentic. To end it we got the 20 year Tawny and that was perfect. Ambience was okay but noise was too loud for us. Service was good. Vegetarian options were very limited as they have egg in all their breads and pasta and pizza dough. Overall for the price range I was a little disappointed that they didn't care enough to celebrate my daughter's birthday or to go through our message. I think even the simple chain American restaurants do a better job at birthday celebrations. When you provide a spot to add messages and don't read them people feel ignored.

Four Years Later... A 50/50 Experience, But That Out of Bounds Keeps Me Coming Back…read more My last review of Revel was about four years ago, and it was not a good one. Since then, I've returned more than a dozen times, mostly for Happy Hour and my favorite cocktail Restaurants change, and staff changes frequently. With those changes, the overall experience can change as well. After all of these visits, I would say my experience at Revel has been about 50/50, both with the food and the service. That said, there are definitely things here that keep me coming back. Happy Hour is my favorite. I'm fortunate to be recognized by a few of the servers, and when I'm seated in their section, the experience is always good. The Happy Hour food is generally solid, but my real reason for returning is the Out of Bounds (OOFB) cocktail--a small-batch Old Fashioned that is absolutely worth the trip. On a recent Saturday evening, I decided to order an OOFB and give dinner another try. My dining partner ordered the risotto, and I'm glad they did because this was, without a doubt, the best risotto we've had here to date. It arrived at an appropriate temperature, was a generous portion, beautifully plated, and was a complete flavor bomb. I'm not generally a risotto person, yet I ended up eating half of it! I ordered the mussels after seeing them being served at a neighboring table. I didn't read the description before ordering, which was my mistake. They arrived at the appropriate temperature, were nicely presented, and every mussel was opened. The flavor was good, but there was a level of heat that I personally didn't enjoy. I didn't send them back because, honestly, that was on me for not reading the description or asking about the spice level. If you enjoy a little spicy heat along with saffron, these mussels may be right up your alley. Overall, the food was good, with the risotto definitely being something I would return for. The service, unfortunately, was another story. Our main server was largely absent, so we repeatedly had to ask other servers for assistance. That's frustrating, especially when you're trying to enjoy a Saturday night dinner. I understand that staffing and service can vary, but this was noticeable enough to impact the overall experience. So once again, my Revel experience landed somewhere in that familiar 50/50 category. The food has definite highlights, the OOFB keeps me coming back, and when you get the right server, the experience can be really enjoyable. I just wish the service were more consistently attentive. I feel four stars is a fair overall rating. I'm taking away one star primarily because of the lack of attentiveness from our main server. Revel is definitely a hot spot in Danville, and with that popularity can sometimes come some inconsistency. That said, I would absolutely recommend starting with Happy Hour if you haven't been. It remains my favorite way to enjoy Revel--and that Out of Bounds is still worth the trip!

My favorite part of this platter was the warm, chewy pretzels eaten along with the thick, creamy beer cheese, but everything was delicious in its own way! Another highlight was the curry ketchup, which had such a unique combination of tomato flavor with spices. For our mains, the Heirloom Tomato Salad came with mixed greens, feta, and heirloom & cherry tomatoes, along with a balsamic dressing. We also added a Wagyu Beef Patty, which was nicely grilled but on the dry side. The Fried Chicken Sandwich came with a breaded chicken breast, citrus slaw, red onion marmalade, and sauce on a soft bun; and the Fried Fish Sandwich was a similar creation but made with beer battered rock cod. The mains were decent though nothing spectacular. Overall, however, this was a nice, casual brewery for its calm, shaded atmosphere and tasty eats.

The vibrant greens of the ceviche scallops at Tides perfectly matched the vibrant personality of the restaurant. The restaurant's coastal theme ambiance was all about celebrating and embracing the beauty of nature. The vibrant greens not only added a pop of color to the dish but also symbolized freshness, vitality, and the vibrant energy of the ocean. It was like a burst of life on the plate, just like the lively atmosphere of the restaurant itself. My kid loves how everything at Tides comes together to create a harmonious and vibrant experience for its guests. We love squid ink noodles at most restaurants. The squid ink noodles at Tides were freshly made today! They had this amazing black color that made them super cool. However, there was too much citrus flavor and the baby octopuses were overcooked and rubbery. And let's talk about the lobster pasta, it was like a dream come true. The tender lobster with the pasta was just perfect. And don't even get me started on the ceviche scallops, they were so fresh. Unfortunately, the coconut flavor was overpowering and didn't have something like a Thai pepper to balance out the too much coconut and not enough seafood taste. Overall, my dining experience at Tides was nice! Oh, I totally forgot to mention the presentation of the dishes at Tides. They were like a work of art! The squid ink noodles were elegantly plated, with a sprinkle of colorful veggies on top. The lobster pasta was served in a delicate sauce that enhanced the flavors even more. And the ceviche scallops, oh my goodness, they were arranged on a bed of vibrant greens with a drizzle of zesty citrus dressing. It was like a feast for the eyes before even taking a bite. However, looks can be deceiving. Artfully plated, the only meal we loved was the lobster tagliatelle. Everything else, we would pass on next time. I can't wait to go back to Tides with my MIL for another culinary adventure. It's definitely a must-visit place for anyone who wants to indulge in the delicious lobster pasta! read more

My wife, business partners, and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tides Danville for the first time, and we were blown away by the exceptional experience it offered. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with impeccable service and an inviting ambiance that set the stage for a memorable evening. The food quality surpassed our expectations in every way. Starting with the appetizers, each dish was a delight to the senses. From the classic Caesar Salad to the flavorful Mussels, Shrimp Cocktail, delectable crab cake, and perfectly seared Scallops, every bite was a culinary masterpiece. For our main courses, we indulged in the Chilean Seabass, two orders of Lobster Tagliatelle, and the Alaskan Halibut. Each dish was expertly prepared, showcasing fresh ingredients and expert culinary craftsmanship. Of course, no dining experience is complete without the perfect drinks, and Tides Danville did not disappoint. We enjoyed 4 rounds of their signature Old Fashioned cocktails, which were expertly crafted and added to the overall enjoyment of our evening. Our server, Jason, deserves special recognition for his attentive and professional service. He ensured that everything was timed perfectly, allowing us to savor each moment of our celebration. Impressed by our initial visit, my wife and I returned for a romantic date night, and once again, Tides Danville exceeded our expectations. The consistency in food quality and service truly sets this establishment apart. In conclusion, I highly recommend Tides Danville to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving outstanding cuisine, Tides Danville delivers excellence in every aspect. I recently had the pleasure of indulging in the most delightful culinary experience at Tides. Their Scallop Risotto and Alaskan Halibut left my taste buds dancing with joy, making it an evening to remember. Let's talk about the Scallop Risotto - it was truly a masterpiece! Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. The seared scallops were cooked to perfection; tender, juicy, and with a slightly caramelized exterior that added a delightful pop of sweetness. The risotto itself was cooked to a perfect al dente, enveloped in a luscious sauce that combined a creamy richness with a delicate seafood undertone. Each bite of the Scallop Risotto was an explosion of flavors that left me longing for more. Now, on to the Alaskan Halibut - it was an absolute revelation! This pristine fish melted in my mouth, showcasing its incredible freshness and delicate taste. The halibut was expertly cooked, flaking apart with the gentlest prod of a fork, revealing its succulent white flesh. The accompanying vibrant vegetable medley brought an additional dimension to the dish, combining tomato's,and roasted cauliflower. The symphony of flavors worked in perfect harmony, creating a memorable seafood dish that showcased the natural magnificence of Alaskan Halibut. The presentation of both dishes was truly exquisite a feast for the eyes before being savored. The attention to detail in the plating, the vibrant colors, and the artistic arrangement of both plates were outstanding. The service I received at Tides was truly exceptional. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about their craft. We will be back! read more

Tides is an absolute triumph for the senses! From start to finish, every aspect of our dining experience was exceptional. The food was outstanding, with each dish delivering a unique and delightful taste. We began our culinary adventure with appetizers that truly showcased the kitchen's creativity: the Shrimp Cocktail, Halibut Ceviche, and Shishito Peppers each boasted distinct flavors and a memorable profile. The cocktails were nothing short of amazing, particularly the HIGHGARDEN and MIDDLE EARTH, which were expertly crafted and a highlight of the evening. To cap it all off, the LAVA CAKE dessert was simply divine - a perfect, indulgent end to a fantastic meal. Beyond the incredible food and drinks, the service was fast and incredibly attentive, ensuring a seamless and pleasant experience throughout. The ambiance was also very nice, creating a wonderfully inviting and comfortable setting. This place is, without a doubt, a must-visit. Tides Restaurant here in Danville offers a cozy ambiance with an abundance of lush greenery that creates a warm, inviting atmosphere. The beautifully designed reception desk adds an extra touch of elegance to the space. The service is exceptional--attentive staff go out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction, which enhances the overall experience. However, while the presentation and atmosphere are top-notch, the food quality fell slightly short of expectations given the pricing. The mahi-mahi fish of the day, while perfectly cooked and juicy inside, was heavily over-spiced, which overpowered its natural flavors. Overall, Tides is a charming spot with excellent service, but a slight refinement in their dishes would make it truly worth the premium price. read more
