The wait is long but the view is amazing!! We came with a group of 6 during the Christmas holiday at at 5:30pm so a wait was expected. I was kinda bummed the tiki bar only had beer/wine since I don't drink either but made do with a Diet Coke. Food was good, had the grouper bites and they were amazing! The "experience" of Tide Tables begins in the parking lot. There's a "parking coordinator" who directs the parking and keeps everyone in line and in order. Yep, you get a parking spot WHEN it's your turn. Loved it! Hostess gets your name, number in party and where you'd prefer to dine (in or out). While you wait; grab a beer or wine at the tiki bar on their pier. Once your table's ready order the grilled or blackened Grouper or Mahi...really sensational. Love, love, love this place. In just one week in the area we visited this hole in the wall twice. First things first, do not be discouraged by the looks of this place. We ate both inside and out. While this place does not require your "Sunday best" the food is surprisingly good and fresh. The fish tacos are great...and this coming from a person who does not usually eat fish tacos. I had them once fried and once blackened- both are good, but I love the fried ones best. The fried fish allows for the other flavors to shine. Others ordered the grouper sandwich and grouper bites, which were raved about. The fries are well seasoned and great. We topped the meal off with some pie. The key lime pie was good, but the pina-colada pie of the day was unreal! We ordered one slice for our table to share...and ended up ordering two more slices of pina-colada pie. I have been avoiding this place for a few years because the service (all family) was just terrible. But I broke down and went because my brother wanted to take me there for my birthday. The food here was delicious! We sat outside and had a nice view of the water. The service was friendly too. We ordered the fried grouper (2 of them) and the fried combo basket for my family to share. All of the seafood was delicious and is great for sharing if you want to try different things. Both baskets came with lots of sides like fries, coleslaw, and beans which were all tasty. The combo basket came with shrimp, scallops, and Cortina which is a type of fish. I also liked the idea that you could get to choose whether you wanted your food fried, grilled, or blackened based on what you liked. All of the seafood was great and I loved the fried shrimp! Best restaurant around here! Only downside is the seating. Food is amazing. Best fish tacos I've had. Conch fritters are perfect. Service was outstanding . Tartar sauce is the best I've had and can substitute fish for chicken if seafood isn't your thing on the tacos. Baked beans are best I've had in along time. read more

Decided to give this place a shot and was glad we did. Went with my wife and daughter and we all got the fried shrimp with fries. They were outstanding. The only complaint food wise for us was the coleslaw. We all like our coleslaw sweet which it wasn't. It wasn't bad, just not our preference. The staff was great. Super friendly and they really seemed to be focused on cleanliness with all the virus stuff going on, which we appreciated. It is a bit pricey. My family and I decided to eat dinner here after hearing great things from the locals while on vacation. We had to wait a little while to be seated (they did tell us beforehand), but after we sat down, the service was really fast. The staff seated us right on the marina, so we got to enjoy a beautiful view of Sarasota Bay. Our waiter was very helpful and gave us recommendations which were amazing. The grilled shrimp basket was really good, it tasted fresh and flavorful. The key lime pie was wonderful as well. Everyone else at my table loved their food too, and we had an excellent time here. Tides Tables is great. We had already eaten but needed a little something else later in the evening. We ordered the 3 item combination platter and it came with Mahi, Shrimp, and Scallops, we substituted mahi for grouper for an additional 4.95 charge. We chose to have it blackened and it was great. Less seasoning would probably be more on some of the items here but it was very good regardless. Their coke from the fountain at the bar is the best Coca-Cola we have ever drank, we all joked the rest of the week about returning for another coke before going home. If you go here make sure to get yourself a coke and thank us later. read more
