Tico Home Remodeling did an AMAZING job helping us design our dream bathroom remodel and bringing it to life. They have an awesome design center and team (special shoutout to Luisa!) where you can make many great selections, but they also took my vision for custom flooring and cabinetry and made them possible as well! The quality of the team's work is amazing! They meticulously laid out our tiling and carefully installed all of our fixtures and everything looks and works great! We had gotten a quote from a corporate remodeling company before reaching out to Tico and it was astronomically higher and they offered no real customizations so we would have gotten a cookie cutter bathroom for double what I got my dream bathroom for. We enjoyed our experience with Tico Home Remodeling so much that we used them soon after the bathroom for another smaller project in our kitchen to replace old lighting as well. Great experience and could not be happier with the end result! Will definitely call Tico Home Remodeling for our next home improvement project. We had been putting off a master bath remodel for a while due to the stress we thought would be associated with the project. As this was our first major update, we were not sure what exactly to expect (and had heard horror stories about other projects). I am happy to report that the team at Tico Home Remodeling made it as pain free as possible, and did a wonderful job on the remodel. Our bathroom turned out even more beautiful than we had anticipated. The crew was very hardworking, professional and tidy. It was impressive to see the progress they were making on a daily basis. Gus and Luis were always a phone call/text message away for updates or to discuss how we wanted to proceed on certain items. Even when we made some changes to the design midway through the project, we were never made to feel like this was a hassle or that we were putting them out. We were slated for first week in June, they're out early. Carlos, the project manager stays in communication, which is fab. They clean up afterwards. We had a hitch with garage door, they stayed late to address that, so far, I'm impressed (that's not easy to do). I want to retain them for more, however, the spousal unit thinks they're a little OP. I challenged him to find another contractor that communicates, delivers on their commitment and are insured. I'd share pics but, for now, they're just fixing drywall. I wish it was installing cans, fixing a really low hanging pain in the noggin lamp, lol. I'll update at project completion. I'd definitely recommend. read more

After Harvey we where tasked with finding a company that could fix our home. It wasn't easy to say the least, countless quotes, numerous "new" companies. We stumbled on Tico by accident and glad we did. They where local, developed, and organized. They fixed our house better than ever. They where continually at home making sure it was getting done, not only to our standards but to there's also. The crew we had was always accomadating and helpful. It must have been fustrating to deal with us at times, as a lot of people during Harvey where constantly figuring things out and learning how to deal with it, they still did there best to make sure we where happy. read more

Not very professional nor lack of quality on the materials. My only regret is not doing enough research on you and your business. Recently had our master bathroom remodeled by Tico Home Remodeling. I cannot say enough about Gus and Luis as they did a fabulous job. Gus really worked on the price with us and I feel that it was more than fair. For the price we paid, or any price for that matter, it turned out fantastic. I've remodeled a 1973 condo with dark and enclosed 1973 kitchen. Tico has done an outstanding job, completely transforming the whole kitchen and living area into a modern, bright and fresh. By taking down a wall between, adding an island, new flooring cabinet and backsplash. They also transformed the old and ugly bathroom with the same care. Their entire crew was very professional and always promp. Their quote was also fair as I shipped this project for over a month trying to pick a company that is both professional, credible and reasonable. They checked everybox. To add icing on the cake, the owner Gus has saved my wedding ring, which I dropped it accidentally between the wall and the island cabinets and countertop after it was installed but before the caulk and backsplash put in. Gus saved my ring without damaging or uninstalling the counter and the cabinet and spent over an hour meticulously searching for it. I'm grateful for that. I highly recommend them for any remodeling and add on jobs. read more

We used Tico Home Remodeling after Harvey for our extensive home repairs. Our home flooded in May 2017 and then again in August/September 2018. After an unpleasant experience with a DIFFERENT contractor in 2017, we did a lot of research before choosing Tico for our 2018 repairs. Our team consisted of Gus, Karina and Renee. They were all so helpful from start to finish. They were very involved during the remodel - out to our home to check on progress all of the time. They kept a list of small items (punch list type items) on our counter and made sure everything was perfect before we moved back home. It was so easy and pleasant for us. I was so happy with their workmanship and customer service that I referred them to my parents when their pipes busted. I also use them when drywall repairs are needed for our HVAC business. Tico Home Remodeling has been my general contractor for several remodeling projects and I recommend them to everyone I know! Tico remodeled my kitchen in 2012, my master bath in 2014, and my upstairs bathroom in 2015. In 2016, when we were ready to sell our house, Tico did an entire interior paint job as well as repairs we needed done in order to list our home. Without their help, I know my house wouldn't have sold as quickly as it did. Tico's crew is on time, professional and stayed within our budget! They even offered financing! We hired Tico Home Remodeling to remodel bathroom and kitchen after a flood in our home. There were numerous problems with the quality and professionalism of this company. Walls were not level, wall finish in den looked like a giant chicken walked on the wall, ceiling finish was not done correctly. Tile back splash not installed correctly. Bathroom tile was installed on a bowed wall instead of fixing wall first. Bathroom sinks were installed backwards, holes for kitchen fixtures were drilled in the wrong place in the granite. There are many, many, more problems with the workmanship, but it would take too long to list. Owner said he would come back and redo work needed to be redone, but would never return our calls. Learned from our neighbor he was on other jobs. We are now in the process of getting other companies to come and redo work Tico Home Remodeling did incorrectly or didn't complete. Electrician came yesterday and we found out electrical work was not up to code. No telling what else we will find. One of the things this company will tell you is that they have a warranty on all work done by them, seriously? My husband is a teacher so it will take some time to get the money to fix the numerous problems,but I wouldn't trust them to fix the problems correctly so we will just whittle away at it slowly but surely. I hired Tico Home Remodeling to remodel my bathroom. I selected THR because I wanted my second bath remodel to be by a professional company in hopes of having an end product that would look like a professional had done the work. I signed the contract with THR because the owner, Gus Matarrita's sales consultant Karina, who came out and did my estimate showed me proof of liability insurance & proof of being Bonded, which I called to verify it, and it was valid and current. This made me feel much better because other companies who came out to give me an estimate could not produce such document when it was time to sign the contract. Once the project got started I observed the demolition guys tear out a perfectly good wall because the contractor didn't make it clear to them what to tear out and what to leave alone, or they were just incompetent? A wall not in the wet area/shower area came down because it had wall paper on it. Karina told me the tile could be laid over it. Demo guys tore it out (WOW!), and replaced it with the hardy plank board so that the tile could be laid on top of it like in the shower/tub area. The second perfectly good wall came down in the shower/tub area because the jack of all trades-master of none; It seems, said the wall wasn't straight, and that he had to tear it out, and put in a 2x4 to make it even. Perfectly functioning walls for over 30-yrs was torn out, one by Jose` because he couldn't admit that he had made a mistake. Once he finished, they could barely replace the toilet, and there's absolutely no wiggle room behind my toilet and the wall anymore. Jose` was also the electrician who replaced all of the electrical outlets, and lighting fixtures. He had switches' sparking like the guy in the Mr. Sparky commercial (Hehehe!). So I have to hire a licensed electrician to inspect the work he has done, just to make sure the house doesn't catch fire. The guy, Jorge, was the tile cutting man. He wasted so much of my tile, and I mean I had to purchase almost as twice as much tile as required in the contract because this guy, Jorge, who admitted that he did not finish high school. When I complained to Gus about it, attitudes changed dramatically, and work done became even more sloppy. It does not look like a professional did the work, but a semi-professional instead. The plumber also didn't produce proof that he had formal training as a plumber/pipe fitter, or a certificate to be cutting, redirecting the flow of pipes, and welding them back together. To add to my discomfort, they stop speaking English in my presence, and started speaking Spanish in front of me, how disrespectful/unprofessional is that to do this to an English speaking customer in her own home? After the work was done, and the final check was written, they cashed the check three days later electronically w/out my permission, and 2-wks. after that ran the paper version of the check in an attempt to get paid twice. Of course the bank rejected the check, and charged me a $35 NSF's fee, which Gus apologized for, and said he would refund me that fee. It's been nearly 2-months, and he still hasn't done so. I sent a reminder email, and he of course doesn't respond. Now, less than 2-months later I see in the shower area, the grout is cracking/separating from the tile in a couple of areas. I will have to hire a handyman or such to come in and correct this. I certainly won't call on them again, and if you do so, do it w/caution. I paid licensed contractor's prices for work done by amateurs. I recommend that you require all subcontractors working on your project to show you proof upfront of their formal training before allowing them to work on your home. read more
