    Chicken fingers and fries
    Brenda H.

The staff were enforcing the COVID precautions. Large jugs of hand sanitizer were at the entrance and exit to the patio; it was necessary to use it before being seated. The menu and table were also sanitized before we could sit. The menu is typical pub fare (ie. don't expect anything too healthy). I ordered the chicken fingers which were way too salty as were the french fries that came with them. There were carrot and celery sticks on the plate but no dip except for the plum sauce for the chicken fingers. The service was good. Our server took our order quickly, came back to check on us after the food arrived and presented the bill in a timely fashion. The restaurant is located in a strip plaza with adequate parking.

$3.00 for two 1-ounce portions of ranch dressing to dip fries in (which was watered down) is RIDICULOUS. I would give you less than one star if possible. If you are going to rip people off like that you should let them know up front - absolutely RIDICULOUS.

Great bar to come hang around at and watch the game or converse with friends. The food and drink quality is great but it is a little above average. I would recommend the fish and chips as always a classic great dish. The staff is extremely friendly, and will not rush you like several other areas.

The service is always bad. The food is always worse. But if you live in the suburbs, or need a stiff drink after a visit with your parents who live in the suburbs, this seems to be one of the hot spots to do it. If you like to party with first-year York University students mixed in with a few Thornhill highschool kids with fake IDs, you're going to feel at home at The Tickled Toad (or "The Toad" as locals call it). The patio isn't bad, in the summer, for happy hour beers, but other than that, I cannot recommend this place in good faith, unless your initial plans were to dine at McDonalds.

Nice enough with good wings, especially when it's cheap night. The beer selection is so-so, but it's clean and friendly. Very nice service!

Server was friendly and attentive and even offered a free green hat and glasses to add on the festivities. It's not too busy here and you'll easily get seats for Saint Patrick's Day. I think if you're huge into the holiday, you'll probably hit up Downtown. But if you want something low key and still get your green beer, this is a solid choice. We ordered the cheese burger and also the fish tacos along with some extra coleslaw. I heard the burgers are made in house and they are good and the fish taco size was quite generous and filling.

The overall vibe has the feel of a typical neighbourhood pub with a bar situated at the back of the restaurant. Service was average and could use some improvement. The menu features brunch in addition to standard pub fare. Beer selection on tap is fairly limited, offering choices like Guinness and Creemore Lager but don't carry standard options such as Canadian or Bud Light for those who prefer them. I ordered the fish and chips which arrived surprisingly quickly. The portion size was larger than expected and the fish was a bit overly battered, while the fries were crispy and well cooked. The coleslaw ended up being the star of the dish with a fresh, light and a great compliment to the fried food. Unfortunately, there were noticeable bits of excess oil left on the fries which took away from the overall appeal. Overall, the food and service were decent enough, but not memorable enough for me to go out of my way to return.

They have a jukebox to add in your songs (long waitlist) and honestly was quite packed on Friday night as well. The server Denis presented us to the dart room where a couple was there. Our group was 5 people so he asked them to just move to the other table so we can take the other two. There were 3 tables in that room. This was perfect because we basically were in a private room, huge plus! We arrived on time for the happy hour and got lots of drinks, no food at all. The shots were pretty watered down or just did not taste 40% vodka at all. Also grabbed two wine bottles outside of the happy hour. Place is quite nice, very fun. Got a free shot, server was so kind as well. A great night indeed. Washroom for women is downstairs and men's washroom was beside the darts room. Would love to come here again for sure.

The food was delicious. I couldn't finish the pasta because I also ate the garlic bread that came with it. So I packed that up to go home. Just keep in mind people this is a pub. It's not a gastro pub where the food is supposed to be michelin star. So adjust your expectations. Having said that I still think the food here is decent. I haven't had any horrible food here. Service: We had a lovely black lady serving us. I didn't catch her name unfortunately. But we have been served by her before. She's perfectly nice & our service from her was great. She took our drink orders first. And then we placed our main dish orders. The food came out relatively quickly as well. We came here for lunch on a Saturday. Ambiance: The furniture has been rearranged a bit. There used to be a sofa at the back near the stairs to the washroom. Now there's a large table there. Other than that it's still the cozy pub vibe. I'm not sure why people have given recent bad review for this place. Hubby & I have been going here on & off for years & not had a bad experience.

I imagine the patio must be great in the summer. Yonge Street is close by, but Canadians become immune to carbon monoxide is summer because we throng to any outoor space, and rhe patio is further back than many downtown Toronto patios. The vibe inside is "moneyed gastropub". Glass and wood and UK heritage. The menu is huge, so a bit of a red lag, and more like a chain pub than a gastropub. FIghting off my PTSD from the last time I ordered a non-deep fried fish from a pub, I ordered the salmon with a side of mashed potatoes. The server seemed a bit nervous, so I ran down my mental checklist. Shaved in the morning? Check. Showered? Check. Wearing clothes? Check. However, she was efficient, so no real complaints. The salmon arrived with a surprisingly nice presentation. It didn't smell like fish, so my PTSD subsided. It was a bit bland at the start, but as I got further in, the seasoning on top were quite pleasent. The peppers underneath were from frozen, and the mashed potatoes were from flakes, but it wasn't bad. Prices were at the level of any GTA gastropub. I imiagine this place is really popular with the locals, especially in summer. I can't say it's a destination, though, as there are so many pubs with the same design choices and vibe to choose from, and some have limited menus to focus on what the chef does best. But, if you're stuck at that bus stop and want a beer, I'd recommend it!
