Time & Date of visit: Saturday, July 11, 2015 @ 2:30pm
Atmosphere: Relaxing. We sat on the patio which was a nice view of greenery and a train station. Inside the restaurant, it's designed with an old fashioned "home" feeling. Patio had umbrellas which was perfect since it was a hot & sunny day.
Cleanliness: Washrooms had tiny fruit flies which appeared to be dead on the sink counter tops. Toilets were not used. However, poor lighting over the facilities. Not a fan of their ketchup bottle having gunk around the bottle caps and tips. Also, the vinegar shaker bottle was greasy with the last persons finger prints.
Constructive criticism: carpeting in a food establishment... not the most hygienic.
Cuisine: Pub style
Facilities: only used hand washing station.
Food: Pub style. My boyfriend & I started with the Nachos. No meat on the nachos which was a little disappointing. No Jalapeno pepper either. The cheese portion on the nachos made up for the lack of heartiness. Good flavor still. I did enjoy the individual servings of Salsa and Sour cream. Really mindful of the double dippage. For my entrée, I ordered the Chicken Pot pie with a side of French fries. The crust was excellent, but the filling lacked. The French fries were delicious. My boyfriend ordered the Po' Boy shrimp wrap which he said look more appetizing on dinners, drive-ins dives. He still said it wasn't bad. To drink, we both had a glass of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. Super crisp on a hot sunny day.
Likeliness of returning or recommending to others: will return to try other items on the menu. Not a total write off, but items could stand to use some edge to make them stand out from the rest.
Parking: free on Saturday & Sunday. Mon-Fri, $1.00 per hour.
Portion Sizes: Large. we left stuffed. The Nacho platter really could have served 4 people.
Price: in Total, we paid $50 (before tip).
Service: Excellent. One waitress for the entire patio, and really hustled. She knew her stuff.
Selection: their specials menu wasn't bad. They offered unique items which Pubs don't normally do. read more
