I made it my mission to stop here on the way back from a road trip out east. I was drawn in by a scrumptious looking menu and the rave reviews posted on Yelp. We made a reservation for 4 people at 5pm on a Friday night just to be safe. 5pm is a little early for dinner but the restaurant was still about a quarter full when we arrived. The inside of the restaurant is what I would describe as a comfortable modern cafe. There was a lot of artwork on the walls that featured local artists and that you could purchase. We were all pretty hungry from our travels so we started the meal off with the Chicken and Waffles. There are only 3 pieces for this appetizer so one of our couples split a piece which turned out okay. It was a tasty bite sized morsel. My main was an alfredo with only the good stuff - chicken, mushrooms, and onions in a creamy sauce on top of perfectly cooked fettuccine. It looked like a deceptively small portion but I actually needed help finishing it. I stole bites off the plates of some of the other dishes in my party. The fries from the burger special were a real winner. They were thick cut, some with the skins still on them, and crispy at the ends. My definition of an addictive fry! I was pretty liberal when sampling the pasta special which was a sous vide lamb on top of a homemade gnocchi in a ragu. The lamb was really mouth watering. It had a subtle taste of lamb but it was really meaty like a steak. The gnocchi had varying levels of crispiness and had a great contrast in texture. Finally I was able to sneak a piece of the lamb shank which was also to die for. It was fall off the bone and so incredibly tender. The service was really wonderful that night too. Our server checked on us multiple times through the meal and made sure we always had everything we needed. On our way out it felt like we were thanked by the entire kitchen and bar staff as we walked by. A lovely dining experience to check out if you're ever in Bowmanville! read more

Great find in Bowmanville! In a small town saturated with chain restaurants, it's great to find a place that offers good casual dining! We came here once before and loved it. This time we sat on the patio and had another great experience. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. I debated between the shrimp summer stew and the salmon for a while and ended up getting the stew. It was tasty! The homemade gnocchi was good but I think the ravioli that comes with the salmon was tastier (I ordered the salmon the first time I visited). My boyfriend had the ribeye and loved it. He said it was cooked perfectly. For dessert we shared the creme brûlée which came with a very tasty coconut macaroon. Great dining experience! read more

I took my mom here for her 83rd birthday ... soup omg!!!!!!!!!! some unique items all fabulous sizes ... I got a chicken wrap and homemade soup it was delicious ... everyone at our table loved all the food including their French fries. Very comfortable environment, rest rooms were immaculate... Upscale! I've. Been 3 times... it has the best food in bowmanville for sure.. and its the trendiest. They were having aN issue With their debit machine one night when I went with a bunch of girlfriends and they made us wait until they fixed it it took almost an hour to fix so had to pay an extra hour to my babysitter Bowmanville is a small town I told them I could come back the next day to pay I would leave them a piece of ID but they wouldn't have it. The overall experience is nice. Great menu selection. Have been back to this restaurant on four different occasions for different events. The appetizers are always well presented and tasty. The drink selection is also spot on. It's when it comes down to the main courses that I am bitterly let down. The roast lamb was tasteless and unseasoned. The salmon was not well prepared and the surrounding sides were tasteless. If I were returning to this location I would strongly recommend sticking to the drinks and appetizers. read more

Wow wow wow was this a fantastic meal! I came here with my family for my Dad's birthday. We booked the Chefs table a few weeks in advance. What we got was a 5 course extravaganza of flavor and presentation. The chef came out and greeted us, he was very sweet and made sure he knew everyone's food sensitivities. I'm gluten and dairy free and my brother in law can't have red wine or cayenne pepper. Each plate that came out was INCREDIBLY thoughtful. Course after course we were all wow'd by the taste, presentation, service and portion size. The wine pairings were all delicious and it was nice to have a proper explanation of where the wine was coming from and what made it special. By the end of the meal our bellies were full and our cheeks were glowing. I would come back here in a heartbeat and you should absolutely give it a try! read more

Great dinner last weekend at three-six kitchen! Service was lovely, no complaints, other than ordered a salad and it never came. But it also wasn't on the bill, so whatever. I had the strip loin steak, it was cooked to perfect medium rare (as requested), however under seasoned for my taste. I asked for salt and pepper, which were provided. underwhelmed and over priced; the service needs some improvement, the music was Tragically Hip -loud and annoying. we ordered drinks -no garnishes, very boring, our meals were just meh!!! nothing special , however the owner did make an adjustment to our bill because of some issues. I was picking up a takeout order my friend had called in to the restaurant. I let the guy know why I was there and to my surprise he started asking why I was really there because they don't do takeout. Another guy overheard and came forward with two takeout bags. The first guy was still berating me asking what delivery service I was with, if I was paying for the order and so on. I was stunned to be treated in such a manner and when I ignored him he said "It's a straightforward question!" I paid for my friend's order and left. Quaint atmosphere with local artwork display and for sale on their walls. Our table ordered the crispy crab cakes for an appetizer which was delicious. Full or real crabmeat. I ordered the lamb shank, others in the party ordered the Shrimp and scallop mac and cheese, flat iron steak and the grill Caesar salad with chicken. All cooked to perfection and very delicious. Excellent food but be prepared for a long wait for your food. The first time was for dinner and it was really busy but todaywe went for lunch and the restaurant was only about 1/3 full and we still had a really long wait for a shared lamburger and fries. This was an unexpected surprise. The unassuming look from the outside belies what waits for you inside. The ambience is friendly albeit a little noisy. It was racing weekend at Mosport and the winning team and then some were there. But that doesn't matter if you are there to enjoy the GREAT food. We had the crab cakes for appetizer. Simply delicious and perfection. They had the right kind of breading and were done perfectly. Spices and sauce complimented the crab meat. Main course consisted of Lamb for my partner and Shrimp and Scallops with fetuccine for myself. The lamb was done perfectly and my partner who is very picky about his lamb ate with gusto. That pretty much says it all. My shrimp and scallops had a beautiful kick to the sauce and there was plenty of seafood in the dish. The fettuccine was also done right I chose to have a couple of Raspberry Martinis while waiting for the food. all I can say is YES!! Next visit I'll try some of their ales, there are plenty. Creme Brulee and cherry cheesecake finished off the meal. Also excellent. 5 STARS. read more

Food was decent. Fish was fresh and flavourful. Obsessive about filling your water glass to the point of annoying. A little crowed - hard to get out trying to squeeze between chairs - made it a little awkward getting people to move so you can leave. Hated the Caesar "salad" half a head of lettuce uncut drizzled with dressing. Desserts were amazing! Might go back but probably not. read more

My husband and I went for dinner on a Saturday evening. Atmosphere was nice, restaurant was busy. We sat at a high top table which unfortunately is not my favourite to eat a nice dinner. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir which was served chilled...did not enjoy that! We ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sliders as an appetizer. They were actually quite tasty and a nice size portion. I ordered the Shrimp and Scallop Linguini. My husband ordered the Grilled Chicken Fettucini. Unfortunately both mains were seriously lacking in seasoning. Quite disappointed with the entrees. There was a nice portion size of protein on both mains. I do not think we will return. read more
