Finally able to make my way back after 3 years!! I love dining here because in here I found excellent service and creative dishes. I came with my husband tonight and we Ordered Julienne Vegetable Salad Soup of the Day Pork Tenderloin Ontario Chicken Supreme First dish that came was the complementary appetizer, bread with squash kombocha - bread was soft - loved the humus (I don't usually like humus) that had squash aroma Soup of the Day - kombucha Squashed Soup - slightly spicy, curry like taste to me personally Julienne Vegetable Salad (live this a lot) - salad was picked from the garden on the side of the restaurant. The salad was very fresh and the portion was decent. I was half full after eating. Ontario Chicken Supreme (excellent) This nice was nicely plated. The chicken was juicy and tender inside but crispy on the outside. I especially loved the jalapeño sauce, it stimulated my taste. I hope there would be more sauce on the plate. But....I had to say that the chicken was a bit salty to my taste. Panama Cotta (very good) It was a very nice dessert. Hope that I don't have to wait for another three years to come back and agan.

Honestly, really glad we ate here. I'd heard this was a teaching restaurant and wanted to give it a shot. The service was good, and the inside has a cool modern feel. It probably won't be on a consistent rotation but overall I enjoyed it.

So much food

We love Bistro 67 and have been there many times. The food matches any farm to table, high end restaurant we have been to in Toronto. This time because of Covid we picked up the take home Valentines Day meal kit. Instructions were easy to understand and packaging was perfect. First off- this was more than a meal for 2 ..it feed 2 adults and 3 kids with leftovers. The main Paella was fantastic- and it would have been 10x better prepared by someone from Bistro67 versus a hack like me. The sangria was very tasty and the charcuterie board was beautiful. If you love good food..make a reservation and drive to Bistro 67..it is worth the trip to Whitby.

Bistro 67 located inside the Centre for Food at Durham College's Whitby campus, has all the visions I would love to support. Green-certified teaching-inspired 'Field-to-Fork' vision The building and the restaurant is just modern and glorious. Love the view of the vegetable garden as I could imagine how fresh all my salad was. We ended up sharing the following from the lunch menu: Baby watercress and nasturtium ($8) Strawberries | filberts | lavender peach vinaigrette Roasted porchetta ($13) with Soup of the Day Calabrese roll | fig confit | arugula | rosemary aioli DC frittata ($15) House sausage | goat cheese | roasted bell peppers | cilantro and chives I enjoyed the plating and the freshness of all the food I ate. I just wish they have a prix lunch menu similar to other teaching college restaurant I had been to. Beer on draft has selection from Ontario Craft Brewery and they also has an interesting cocktail list. Menu changes every 3-4 months so worth coming back again to try out other items according to what fresh and seasonal.

Classy, pricey restaurant on Durham College's campus is a unique 'farm to field' experience that is fun to try - but ultimately a bit lacking in execution. Service and decor is excellent, though! Menu changes seasonally, as expected. WHAT WE LIKED: Moroccan Braised Boneless Beef Short Ribs. Cauliflower was fun to try. WHAT WE DIDN'T: Lamb tacos were meh. Seafood fettuccine was disappointing. WHAT I'D GET NEXT: Spanish Meatballs? Game Farm chicken breast? But the menu changes seasonally, so who knows? Swung by on a Friday evening, with reservations. Parking is ample on campus, space is upstairs and spacious with a modern look. We were greeted by a friendly server and a simple menu. The food took a bit to come, but complimentary bread comes with orders - and it's pretty good! Note: we came on Earth Hour day, so the lights went out mid-meal, which made some of the pictures a lower quality than usual. They accommodated all patrons with extra candles and opening all the blinds. TANDOORI CAULIFLOWER: good portion size to share, interesting flavour. It's something new and I'm glad I tried it. It is lacking 'kick' and I'm not sure that tandoori spices and cauliflower compliment each other amazingly well, but it's a unique take and vegetarian-friendly. Try to eat the cauliflower with the bread (it goes better like that). LAMB TACOS: Two tacos for $18 better be spectacular... and this wasn't. There was a decent sized lamb chunk in the taco, but the wrap itself was not big, and the flavour was mediocre. There's better lamb for cheaper. SEAFOOD FETTUCCINE: Value-wise ($20), it's just not there. Hard pass. (Picture missing due to Earth Hour.) MOROCCAN BEEF SHORT RIBS: most of the meat was actually REALLY tender - a couple of rougher chunks, but that's normal. The flavour was fairly good: it was a bit gamey and husky, and strong. Taste-wise, definitely the best option we had. The mash was fluffy and creamy, and went quite well. As with the others though, it's a bit small. I recommend trying this. It's a fun experience to come, and I think there is enough on the menu that caught my eye that I'll eventually want to come back. It is a pricey experience, but there is value in sustainable food practices, and field-to-fork is pretty cool.

Dessert on a plate. If you look closely you'll see the chocolate mousse.

My daughter brought me here for Valentine's Day. They offered a prix fix menu. We were excited after reading the reviews to have a delicious meal. Let's just say we were utterly disappointed. The dishes were visually pleasing but every course lacked flavour. The bisque was room temperature and salty. We had some sort of lamb dish. The steak and lobster dinner was not up to par for the price charged. The saddest part of the evening was the disgrace of a dessert. A few torn pieces of panettone with what seemed like a table spoon of chocolate mousse. All in all the drinks and food were mediocre and in no way warranted a $260+ bill. The ambience was the only good part. Maybe the regular menu is wonderful but this special menu was not a success.

Went with wife to celebrate her birthday and was pretty happy overall with the food, service and friendly staff. Ordered a lot of food which we couldn't finish :) I would give this place a 5 star but I just found the burger a little too try. Other than that everything was amazing.

This place never disappoints! This is probably my third time coming to this place, and everytime i eat here I'm reminded of why I came. This restaurant is located inside the Centre for Food at the Durham Campus. Service and food is prepared by culinary students who are enrolled in the program. They use nothing but the freshest ingredients, in fact they grow their own vegetables! We were fortunate to be able to order from their "new" menu. For appetizers, we ordered mushroom fondue, and apple/pumpkin bruschetta For the mains I ordered the Moroccan beef rib, while others ordered the halibut fish. It was absolutely amazing. Nothing but good things to say about this place, it's about time Whitby got a restaurant as good as this!

Cheeseboard... Seriously loved this! Could add more bread to it as well

As a former Durham college student. I heard about this but never got a chance to try it out.. Years later and now I realized I should have gone sooner! Amazing staff, our waitress Amanda was so informative about the food and garden and really got us interested in Bistro 67's concept! food was amazing and delicious. Highly recommend being seated by the windows overlooking the garden. A must visit. Highly recommend. We will be back again!

At first, I had our reservations booked a month in advance and when we got there we got seated near the entrance which seemed very noisy and busy; a simple request and we were moved to a much nicer spot with a great view. Our server was more than knowledgeable about the menu, a slight screw up but it was cleared up immediately with dessert thrown in for free. The food, oh boy, was so delicious! I was disappointed that it had to end. I highly recommend giving this a try. You will love the experience! I am going to become a regular.

Cauliflower nuggets and lamb kofta samosas

We celebrated Valentine's Day on the 15th at Bistro 67. It had been recommended to us and I was excited from the moment I opened the menu. We ordered a shareable of cauliflower nuggets which was a very nicely sized portion and an appetizer of lamb kofta samosas, which were also very tasty! As I am pregnant, I couldn't order what I really wanted, which was the sushi bowl (so I will have to return after baby is born.) instead I had the Thai curry with shrimp. I thought it was quite reasonably priced at $16 but the protein was offered as an option by the waitress and not on the menu, which was $10. Not a bad price but I think it should be on the menu so you can see the price. My boyfriend ordered the steak which he liked, also a bit pricey at $40. My Thai curry was good but there were a bit too many noodles in it for my liking which soaked up most of the curry and I didn't want to eat that amount of noodles. However, beautiful presentation. The best part was definitely the starters and I will return for the sushi bowl!

Eaten here several times. Very good quality for the price. My only complaint is that sometimes you wait a long time to get served.

My wife ordered this vegetarian squash dish and she loved it. I ordered the steak and the cook was perfect but I found the sauce overpowering. It's personal preference, I like my steak with just salt and pepper without sauce. My fault for not reading the menu correctly. The sides of purée and veggies were great. Overall KB hits it out of the ballpark and is so much better than the chain upscale eateries.

Every dish I had was very good. For this meal I ordered something different, the shrimp stuffed catfish. Never had catfish so this dish was calling me. Service was very good. Our waitress was chatty and was joking around with us which was fun. Food: #1 Deep fried calamari #2 Black truffle and Brie steak sandwich (time limited menu) with truffle fries on the side. #1. has been our favourite item here since the first visit. Still the same quality. Tender calamari, pickled sliced hot pepper, cucumber pickles - all coated by super thin-crisp butter. I will order this every time I am here for sure. #2 We ordered this "medium rare". I did not expect much as our last experience with their burger was not good. HOWEVER this one was very good. AAA strip-loin arrived perfect medium rare, with right amount of melt-y/creamy/chunky brie & black truffle aïoli nicely coating it. Caramelised onions added flavour, arugula was fresh. All of them were sandwiched by toasted artisan bun (with no sogginess). Accompanying truffle fries was not impressive though... but the sandwich was so good that I did not expect more from this fries. Drink (beer): Beertown XX Left Field Brewry (East York) Home & Away Hazy APA was sooo good. The beer is special with collaboration with Left field brewery (one of my favourite breweries). Our server was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, walking us through the entire menu and explaining their Come For Dinner option, which is essentially a tasting menu. While it sounded tempting, we decided to order à la carte. We had the brussel sprout toast, crispy squid, duck liver mousse, rye cavatelli (pasta), sablefish, fries, and short rib. The standouts were definitely the brussel sprout toast and the rye cavatelli. I'm a huge brussel sprouts fan, so I knew I'd love the toast. They really load it up, and it's a crispy delight. I'd never had rabbit before, so I was a little nervous about the cavatelli, but the flavour was great. The sablefish came with a sweet sauce/paste that made the dish really unique and memorable. And the short rib was incredibly tender and cooked perfectly. The only dish I didn't love was the liver mousse--the texture just wasn't for me, a bit too mushy. But the buckwheat waffles it came with were delicious! Overall, the dishes at this quaint spot are unique, inventive, and clearly crafted with care. It's definitely a great choice for the foodie friend or anyone who wants to try something new.
