Breakfast Sandwich

I was reading online reviews first before I picked this place for a Sunday brunch with family. We've made reservations online which is easily done and we chose to sit inside which is cool and comfortable. One star is lost because of the wait time for our food. Which took 50 mins, the server only came around after 30 mins of ordering to ask how we are doing, and just then she said she helped us rush our order. The food portion is quite nice and everything is made fresh. We upgrade the side from home fries to Organic greens which they are very fresh. I would recommend this restaurant to others, but keep in mind about their long wait time.

I always enjoy a good breakfast, especially on a Saturday morning. Was tired of the usual suspects, so decided to drive up to Uxbridge to checkout this place as it seemed highly recommended by fellow yelpers. Decor 5/5 The place is quite swanky. They do serve lunch and dinner as well, so it had a very modern clean vibe to it. Service 4/5 Our server was nice, but she started off with a bit of an attitude ( not sure why) but she got better as time went on. Food 5/5 Excellent. Farm fresh eggs, everything was quality. I ordered the classic breakfast with the sausage and it was huge! Also order the eggs benny, really good. I especially liked the bread, it must be made in house. Great place for brekkie, would definitely go again. Follow me @jarrodeats on Instagram

Super slow service. Took like 25 minutes to get the food. Mediocre food. The waitress didn't care to talk about options to substitute salad for fries, which we later find out it's possible. End up stuck with unhealthy fries

Urban Pantry Restaurant is a perfect lunch/dinner spot in Uxbridge. I will suggest making a reservation as the place was packed even on a weekday for lunch!! I guess "country' life is way more relaxing and everyone really takes their time. If you are in a rush, it is not a good place as service can be a tad slow. We arrived when the restaurant opens and thus beat the rush. Patio still opens for late fall but we opted to sit in the main dining room. Menu is seasonal and great if you want to eat some healthy food prepared with local fresh ingredients. Lake Erie Perch ($19) pan seared, curry israeli couscous salad, arugula, toasted almonds, dried cranberries, salsa verde Duck ($18) kale, pickled beets, quinoa, pepitas, pickled red onions, honey lemon vinaigrette Fish was seared perfectly with crispy skin. Duck has this nice smokey flavour. Certified FeastON restaurant if you want a taste of what Ontario offers! https://feaston.ontarioculinary.com/

Portions are decent the food is fresh and well prepared. My friends and I visited Urban Pantry after going to a farm in the area to pick pumpkins. They ordered salads and a pasta dish. I went for the soba noodles (pictured). We went at around 3pm and our party of 5 was seated right away. The food tasted healthy and fresh and while the waitress was not super enthusiastic the service was all right. The restaurant seemed clean and well maintained, and the menu was unique and not cookie cutter. The foo was not overly flavourful but it was yummy. I think if you're looking to lunch in the area and are tired of diners to give this a try. Their prices were not bad either considering they tout themselves as farm to table.

Amazing spot. This is my best friends favorite restaurant and she and her husband brought me there today. Apperantly their breakfast is to die for. However today is Good Friday and breakfast is only served on weekends (and only until 12). We showed up at 11:30 (when it opens) for lunch. Got a seat at a high table at the back. Usually I find high tables uncomfortable but this one wasn't at all. We shared the charcuterie board with the cheese and OMG amazing. Totally worth every penny. So many special unique items. Pork belly, cured lard, stewed peaches, beets... literally everything you could ask for. My friends both got the special which was fish and chips. It smelled great and neither left even a crumb on their plate. I got the corn, jalapeño, potato, ham soup and a veggie sandwhich. I loved the soup and the bread my sandwhich was on. It could have used some goat cheese or a nice tangy flavour but it was very different from other veggie sandwhiches I've had. It was roasted (not pan fried) and had cauliflower, beets, artichokes, brussel sprouts, an avocado mousse and a yogurt spread on it. My friend got local beers. Second wedge brewery is around the corner and I tried the blonde ale. It was delishious. I also got an African blosson tea (I think it was called that).. it was very nice. I highly suggest a visit to the bathroom. The hand Cream is locally made and amazing. Definitely a new favorite spot. If you have time I'd suggest checking out the brewery and Vinces grocery store.

Food and Service was great. Relaxed atmosphere. Just what we needed for a Friday night get out of the kitchen experience.

Slabtown cider - Fungi (Mushroom) Pizza

We ordered a couple of pizzas - Margherita and Fungi (Mushroom) - that were really good, made with fresh ingredients. The truffle oil on the Fungi pizza was almost intoxicating. Yummy! The Double Smashed Burger was topped with sautéed mushrooms, onions, bacon, cheese, and more. This was ordered with a Mixed Green Salad that was very attractive and colourful. Both were delicious! The Cubano Sandwich was made with smoked ham, pulled pork, bacon, Provolone cheese, pickles, and maple mustard. Great sandwich, full of flavour! Since this was the start of a road trip, we didn't indulge in any adult beverages. Maybe next time...

My friend and I went for dinner before line dancing on a Friday. We arrived at 5:30ish and were able to get a high top table on their patio. They don't take same day reservations & I recommend you make a reservation if you can, as it was already pretty busy at that time of the day. Our server, Alex, was a treat! She asked us if we've been there before, and when we said that it's our first time, she pretty much guaranteed that we would be back. She then proceeded to tell us about their apple orchard where they grow their own apples to make the ciders from. She took our drinks order and we told her that we're ready to order food as well. I ordered the bacon & pickle pizza. I've been wanting to try a pickle pizza forever, so I was happy to see one on the menu. My friend was contemplating on either the octopus starter with a side of sweet potato fries or the salmon entree. Alex had no doubt in her mind when she told my friend that the salmon is really good, so she chose that. Our drinks and food came quickly & everything not only looked good but tasted amazing too! My friend said the salmon was cooked to perfection. I loved my pizza. It was tasty and unique. I also ordered the pepperoni pizza add mushrooms to go for hubby. I got to eat some of that & it was really good as well. My hubby said he prefers the bacon & pickle one better. That is truly a high compliment as he usually doesn't like pizzas with a white sauce. The space at Slabtown has beautiful scenery. There is also an open, grassy massive space next to the patio where families can order food from their food truck & eat at a picnic bench, allowing their kids to run around freely. I can't wait to bring my hubby here! Highly recommended.

Mains: - Market Fish - 9/10 - rainbow trout. fish was very flavourful. We really enjoyed this dish. Potatoes were crispy and mixed well with the creamy fish. - Short Rib Tagliatelle - 8/10 - portion was big, a bit heavy for me, but flavours were still good. We had some leftover. Dessert: - Affogato - 8/10 - the chocolate ice cream had chocolate dipped coffee beans which gave a good crunch to the ice cream. The pistachio biscotti was good too. Big sports bar setup, tons of TVs, plenty of seating, and the staff were friendly from the moment we walked in. Service was attentive without being pushy and our food came out fast even though they were busy. The menu is huge, maybe a bit overwhelming honestly. We tried a mix of appetizers and mains. Portions are generous, prices are fair for what you get, and the flavours on the dishes that were not deep fried were genuinely good. The braised beef and the seafood pasta in particular stood out. My one real issue, and the reason this is not a five star, is the fryer oil. Anything that came out of the fryer left me feeling heavy and a bit off for the rest of the night, which I have noticed before at places that do not change their oil often enough. The fries and the fried apps tasted fine in the moment but sat poorly afterwards. Not the first time I have had that reaction here, so I do not think it was a one off. If they tightened that up it would make a real difference because the rest of the kitchen clearly knows what it is doing. Service, atmosphere, and portion sizes are all strong. Would come back, but next time I will stick to the grilled and braised dishes and skip the fryer.

Overall, service was decent. At times it was hard to track down our server, but the restaurant was pretty busy. Menu was great. Food was decent. It's a lively restaurant with lots of tables and TVs. Good atmosphere.

Had the fig salad, which everyone seems to rave about, and yeah, it deserves the hype. Fresh, dressed properly, actually filling. The shoestring fries are a problem in the best way. I also got one of the bowls based on what the staff recommended and it was excellent, the kind of food that makes you slow down between bites. What I liked most is that you can tell someone in the kitchen actually cares. Local ingredients, seasonal stuff, and the vegan and gluten friendly options are not slapped on as an afterthought. Everything on the menu feels like it was thought about. Staff were lovely, room is bright and easy to sit in for a while, and the prices are fair. Walked out feeling good, which is rare these days.
