Updated review. We had a bit of disappointment with the food we had on the last visit (Jan 2025) but decided to come back to check new beer items in the menu. We ordered the following. Food: #1 Deep fried calamari #2 Black truffle and Brie steak sandwich (time limited menu) with truffle fries on the side. #1. has been our favourite item here since the first visit. Still the same quality. Tender calamari, pickled sliced hot pepper, cucumber pickles - all coated by super thin-crisp butter. I will order this every time I am here for sure. #2 We ordered this "medium rare". I did not expect much as our last experience with their burger was not good. HOWEVER this one was very good. AAA strip-loin arrived perfect medium rare, with right amount of melt-y/creamy/chunky brie & black truffle aïoli nicely coating it. Caramelised onions added flavour, arugula was fresh. All of them were sandwiched by toasted artisan bun (with no sogginess). Accompanying truffle fries was not impressive though... but the sandwich was so good that I did not expect more from this fries. Drink (beer): Beertown XX Left Field Brewry (East York) Home & Away Hazy APA was sooo good. The beer is special with collaboration with Left field brewery (one of my favourite breweries). In spite of its low ALC %, it had a pleasant crisp and kick. Blessed!!!! We also had # Greenwood IPA - New England (Left Field), risp # HIGH GRADE New England Style IPA (Fairweather, Hamilton) # ELORA BOREALIS New England Style Pale Ale # BONE TREE Single Hop New England Style IPA We felt like going with light, crisp and refreshing ones to enjoy food. My husband and I went for dinner one day for date night. Walking in, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and full of energy! The food menu has a nice variety. I particularly enjoyed the Pork Belly sliders it was flavorful, well-seasoned, and had a fantastic presentation. The portions of the food were pretty good to share. Their beer selection is top-notch, offering an impressive range of local craft brews and international favorites. Whether you're a fan of IPAs, lagers, or something more experimental, there's something for everyone. Service was amazing! Our server Matt was very attentive and made she we were comfortable throughout the meal. He also made great recommendations for the paddle! Came here for a quick brunch with the family. I have to say, on weekends it's very packed and crowded. The tables are very close to one another, which made access back and forth to the table a bit hard. The food was okay, but the taco my husband had was not to our liking, but overall everything else was great. I liked my chips and guacamole. We will be coming back but will be ordering other foods to try out. The noise level is normal for a restaurant like this one; it's not loud. However, since it's crowded, it makes it a little difficult to talk to someone across from you. read more

Eaten here several times, probably 6 or 7, and it's been consistently good: tasty food, interesting rotating selection of beers, and friendly and prompt service. Cocktails are also reasonably priced. It's an inviting place, with some clever beer-themed decor (lights made from kegs), and quite family friendly. read more

Great hang out spot whenever there's game day! Located in Ajax, beer town offers a great variety of beer from local brewery and serves up the most amazing burgers! The server was amazing as she remembered all of our requests without any tablet or pen and paper! Great gem in the east end! read more

Been once only. You want a selection of beer, this is your place. Wow! Food, limited menu which for me is a good thing. Easier to do things right with a small menu than one that is too big. How is this place not a solid 5.0? Insanely good staff. Insanely good food. Insanely good vibes. I'm almost sad it's my last day in the Oshawa area because this restaurant absolutely slaps. The bartender - Chris I think? True professional. Does Canada proud. The double standard burger? Pretty good. The hot chicken? Out of this world. And the beer selection has something for everyone. New pub/beer restaurant in the mega Whitby plaza. Inside is very large and spacious and you can see the kegs all over the place. We sat outside the patio and ordered food right away because we were hungry. I had the pad thai and my wife had the turkey burger. The food menu was easy, picking what beer to have was hard! So many choices, so we ended up getting a flight "paddle" of beer. The 4 x 5oz was too much liquid for us. We could have shared one paddle. My wife's burger was tasty but super messy but the sweet potato fries were very good. My pad thai was over sauced, and not authentic but I expected it based on the restaurant we were eating at. Good food, amazing selection of beer and okay service (they were slow in terms of attentiveness). Will go back for sure. read more

Beertown consistently delivers as a chain that feels like a fancy gastro. My family has been several times in the last year (two parents and a toddler) and the food is very good and the service excellent (shoutouts to Kelsey and Matt, who have served us.) Also? The vibes are just solidly positive. It was busy on a Thursday night right before the holidays, with many large groups, and the servers are all smiling, everyone there is happy, and the host chose us an excellent spot near the edge of the room where our toddler could walk around the table without being in the way of servers or guests. Lunch @12:00 on July 12th, 2025, with wife, MIL, SIL it was SIL's birthday(38). Our server was Rachel, next time I visit I will ask to sit wherever Rachel is covering, She was an attentive, pleasant, funny, considerate & a joy to be with. It was just lunchtime, so still very quiet, ideal time, it was a hot day, so the cool environment was very nice. The food was very great, my wife said hers was excellent, everyone liked theirs. I may ask for the house salad next time, mine was still good but she loved hers :-). The only thing that let me down, was that the menu said toasted artisan bun, I don't think it was an artisan bun (whatever that means nowadays) & it was not it toasted. Beautiful restaurant! Was there on a Saturday afternoon with some friends. Service was pretty slow just for a beer. Did not enjoy the wings as a starter, needed to be cooked longer, to greasy for my liking. Probably won't go back, but was happy enough to try it out. read more
