The Second Wedge Brewing was a stop on our way home from a day in the Port Perry area. It was crowded when we arrived, with a musician providing live music. It was definitely a party atmosphere. My friend and I shared a flight of four beers and sat on the patio, shielded from the light drizzle by patio sails. If I recall, we sampled the Gin Joint, Elgin Blonde, High Grass, and Smoked Wheat on Rye. The beers were refreshing and the atmosphere was relaxing. The light rain actually enhanced the ambiance. I'm kinda glad there was no seating available inside because the music was loud, very loud. The singer was talented but I just can't tolerate too much loud music anymore. I must be getting old. The decor inside is clean and simple, with chalkboards listing their selections of the day, fridges of cold beers to go, and shelves of souvenir items for sale. The patio is more interesting, with a gravel surface, solid wood tables, metal sculptures, and some attractive sails for protection from the sun and rain. Nice place. I like it.

Have a beer before boarding to train. First time been here, too bad that the restaurant was still not ready and only beer available. The beer was good and I bought more to take home.

+1 Star for being Dog Friendly! Not that many places that I can enjoy a pint with my dog due to health regulation. The Second Wedge Brewing Co has a nice set up! Love the tasting room and the outdoor patio. It is always cool to have an outdoor patio area for the summer months. Rotating taps with bottles and growler available. Tasting samples all priced differently depends on the beer. The staff serving during my visit could be a little more engaging and that would have enhanced the experience. Working in a tasting room is more than just pouring beers...

A decent place for a drink. A clean place with friendly staff. Had a nice time there spending an hour enjoying a flight of four different kinds of beers. Love 3 Rocks IPA the most. High Grass has a rich flavour of ginger. Tastes like a ginger beer. Monday Night Piper and Rain Maker taste like having black coffee. It is quite an experience

While I was in the Toronto area visiting friends over the Christmas holiday, this was a place I ended up at twice. The first time was with my friend Paul, who is a known regular at the brewery, at their first anniversary party. It was really difficult to make any judgements on the brewery space itself, because it was jammed shoulder to shoulder, with an almost deafening level of noise from all the people. It was a nice time though, and I got a chance to try a few of their beers, which were all really quite good, particularly the seasonal beer: Spice Factory. Hopefully they brew this again next year, I would highly recommend it! Second visit was with Lee and Paul on a more regular day, and the brewery was a a more sane level of patrons, which wasn't too crowded but enough people for it to be comfy. They have a lot of wooden tables, some of which are old cabling spools, and there's a lot of room to spread out and be friendly. There are piles of board games and lots of beer to be had - they have a good number of taps going, and have a cooler with bottles and growlers ready to go. There is no food available other than a cheese plate, but they are friendly with you bringing your own food in for consumption, and several nearby restaurants will deliver food here as well. They're dog friendly, too, and they have a resident pooch who loves to supervise the patrons and greet people at the door. Overall, a great place with good beer, I highly recommend stopping here if you're in the area.

Beer flight ! Recommended by the waitress and it was pawsome !

Such a lovely place and huge patio area. Extremely dog friendly with lots of picnic tables and chairs and lounge seating. Totally follows the COVID protocol and everyone is extremely friendly. We are so impressed. Lots of beers to choose from but no food so feel free to bring some snacks !

Wonderful beer, great beer garden, a must go to when in Uxbridge. The 3 Rocks IPA is one if the best beers I've ever had.

Terrific new addition to the Uxbridge bar scene. Brew pub with amazing beer. Great atmosphere that is kid and dog friendly. It's a don't miss place when in Uxbridge.

The first anniversary of Second Wedge was celebrated in late December 2016 and it was well-attended by the loyal followers who have been frequenting the spot since opening. The only downside was the closed patio, but snow and winter will tend to get in the way of such delights. With a wider selection than ever available and seasonal brews making an appearance from time to time, Second Wedge is a favourite location in Uxbridge and Durham Region. The servers are always friendly and the owners are hands-on and always available to discuss the current and upcoming brewing schedule. When the owners are not around there is a friendly greeting from Sadie (their black Lab) who is always interested in playing fetch while waiting for the growler refill! From time to time there is a special cask-conditioned event with a one-time limited-supply cask to be tried. The result is a unique variant of a Monday Night Piper, 3 Rocks IPA, Rain Maker, or Elgin Blonde that is finished with oak or something smokey. It is a special experience every time. The onsite food selection is still minimal, but good and the order-in capabilities had expanded to additional local restaurant. Also of note is the fact that Second Wedge brews are available in many local establishments and have spread to other locales such as Port Perry and environs. While it has firmly established itself with a large local following, there is an endless flow of newcomers who happen across the place and typically taste a flight or two. Another reviewer here has taken it upon himself to be a one-person crusade against Second Wedge, perhaps because of a less than great experience, but with less than a handful of reviews and every one of them bashing Second Wedge, one can only think that there is a separate agenda for the continued put-downs. Admittedly, I am an original fan of the place and a local, therefore, some bias may be detected, but I do know beer. Not every tap has been perfect or the best at Second Wedge, but most have been exceptional and unique and clearly not for every palate. I tend to like them all, so much so that I seek out and prefer other restaurants that offer them on the menu. So after one year of operation, Second Wedge Brewing Co is well-established in the region with a solid offering of beers for everyone and food for some. Your mileage may vary - to each his/her own.

It's…read morea great spot, offering fresh and delicious food, wide open spaces with a large patio, and nice ambiance. We ordered a couple of pizzas - Margherita and Fungi (Mushroom) - that were really good, made with fresh ingredients. The truffle oil on the Fungi pizza was almost intoxicating. Yummy! The Double Smashed Burger was topped with sautéed mushrooms, onions, bacon, cheese, and more. This was ordered with a Mixed Green Salad that was very attractive and colourful. Both were delicious! The Cubano Sandwich was made with smoked ham, pulled pork, bacon, Provolone cheese, pickles, and maple mustard. Great sandwich, full of flavour! Since this was the start of a road trip, we didn't indulge in any adult beverages. Maybe next time...

My friend and I went for dinner before line dancing on a Friday. We arrived at 5:30ish and were able to get a high top table on their patio. They don't take same day reservations & I recommend you make a reservation if you can, as it was already pretty busy at that time of the day. Our server, Alex, was a treat! She asked us if we've been there before, and when we said that it's our first time, she pretty much guaranteed that we would be back. She then proceeded to tell us about their apple orchard where they grow their own apples to make the ciders from. She took our drinks order and we told her that we're ready to order food as well. I ordered the bacon & pickle pizza. I've been wanting to try a pickle pizza forever, so I was happy to see one on the menu. My friend was contemplating on either the octopus starter with a side of sweet potato fries or the salmon entree. Alex had no doubt in her mind when she told my friend that the salmon is really good, so she chose that. Our drinks and food came quickly & everything not only looked good but tasted amazing too! My friend said the salmon was cooked to perfection. I loved my pizza. It was tasty and unique. I also ordered the pepperoni pizza add mushrooms to go for hubby. I got to eat some of that & it was really good as well. My hubby said he prefers the bacon & pickle one better. That is truly a high compliment as he usually doesn't like pizzas with a white sauce. The space at Slabtown has beautiful scenery. There is also an open, grassy massive space next to the patio where families can order food from their food truck & eat at a picnic bench, allowing their kids to run around freely. I can't wait to bring my hubby here! Highly recommended.

I saw on Instagram they were pet friendly which is always a plus and that they had FOOD! Nice interior and a lot of seating and a Patio out front. The owner was nice and I tried a flight of beers which is the best way to try out a variety without committing to a pint of one! I got the Smoll which is a newer brew, the Petit Duchesse, Roller Beast and Kraken. My favs were the Kraken and Smoll. They were all great but I would definitely get those again! Service was quick and friendly. In the back they have Pattersons Pizza making Neapolitan style pizza. I was surprised they were there! I originally tried their pizza at a Markham Dog Alliance event and was excited to try another pizza. The pizza is very much a tradition Neapolitan style pizza, reminded me of the pizza I had in Naples. The sauces, the thin crust, chewy and yummy and the delectable cheese and pepperoni was a nice balance to the variety of brews I enjoyed. Ian the chef, really loves what he does! Very passionate chef and enjoyed the friendly chat! A random find, a random afternoon, overall a wonderful day! Worth checking out!! I will return!!!
