Shoutout to Black owned businesses!! This location has a parking lot and street parking. It's a…read morenice place for hosting parties. They have happy hour everyday 5-9pm. Tuesday they have $2 lamb chops. In my opinion they have the best lollipop lamb chops on this side of town. They are grilled on a charcoal grill and seasoned very well. The service is good.

Unfortunately, the manager or owner "G" didn't improve the situation either all he did was help the incompetent waitress create more bills -- both owner and employee have no customer service! Giving the location of the establishment and how empty the parking lot is, not surprised! The drinks were poorly made, the "Old Glory Greens" are not fresh collard greens, and the mac and cheese was low-quality and flavorless. I genuinely want to support Black-owned businesses, but the lack of respect and professionalism toward customers makes it hard to recommend this establishment and due to this being my second bad experience, I won't be back. Ambiance?! Nothing to expect. They play outdated music and it's never anyone really inside. If you like hole in the one that's what it is. Just don't expect hole in the wall prices.

I went to the brunch last Sunday, after I few of my friends told me about this restaurant/bar. I…read moreheard so much about how good the food was, so I was eager to check it out! Upon walking into the restaurant, I really liked the ambiance, and the music playing from the DJ during the brunch hours. It was a nice and laid back vibe! Service was nice, and there were a nice amount of food options to choice from the buffet, from what I remember: Grits, fresh fruit, potatoes, bacon, sausage, waffles, veggies, macaroni and cheese, pork chops, pasta salad, fried chicken wings, fried catfish, omelette station-and more food items I'm sure I missed! All of the food was good! I had no complaints, and the mimosas were good. I would definitely check this restaurant out again, next time for dinner options!

My first impression was of the fenced in, "secured" parking lot where a security guy waved us to…read morethe back. When I asked why, in the rain, I couldn't park closer to the door, he indicated that it would be safer for me to pull out, since I was driving a large vehicle. He clearly assumed I couldn't drive my SUV. It would be safer for me as a female to not have to walk from the back of a lot where, judging by the wall and fence, has security issues. What made it worse, when I left, he wasn't even in the lot to make sure my lengthy walk to my big SUV was safe. But let's get inside. Went for Sunday brunch around 2pm. We were greeted by a friendly and cool waitress and to the sounds of Teddy Pendergrass, so all was forgiven. The buffet items could have been fresher, but I did arrive the last hour of brunch. For $21.99 you get a mimosa, one made to order omelette in addition to the buffet items. Everything was fried - chicken wings, perch, pork chops. I had all 3, wings and fish were ok, pork chops were dry. Sweet, soft waffles and good grits. Mac n cheese was a little dry, but good mixed into the grits. Again, maybe better if you go at beginning of brunch. Fruit plate was a nice one, featuring wonderful honeydew. Not enough veggies on the buffet. The staff was friendly and it seems like a fun place to come for their karaoke or comedy night. Since it was a buffet, I did not get to witness the slow service others have warned about. I can see that though. We had to find the waitress to pay the bill. It was nice to not be rushed and I'd rather friendly and slow than rude and rushing me out. I would come back to try the lamb chops and comedy. Just don't expect to get in and out.

The girls at the Enterprise counter of DTW recommended this place as representational of Detroit area fast food. I was told to order the coney dog. A long serene drive down Telegraph and finally, I turn into the driveway that belongs to Nicky D's. The interior is pure 90s liminal nostalgia creepshow (I mean this in the best way). A formidable barrier of plexi separates gen pop from the employees. And those employees, they're actually cooking. Technically, the layout is fast food, but they're doing more than most short order cooks around this country. I got me one of them coney dogs and also a fish cod sammich.... Ok, here's the thing Detroit, the coney dog is not special. A dog with chili, mustard and onions is delicious, ok ok, it is delicious, but is it particularly Detroit? In actual fact, that is a standard dog for many regions. The fish cod sando smacked. That batter or dredge they put on it was crisped up right and had a numberless amount of nooks and crannies. The fish itself was moist and perfectly flaked. Also the service was nice. The girl at the register was like royalty in the way of her manners and comportment. And they are slammed busy.
