Tried this over another popular spot based on reviews, but also price. We got a good sampling of the offerings including the St Louis style half rack of ribs, the smoked chicken wings, a 1/2 lb of beef brisket and a pulled chicken sandwich. In addition we got several side orders including the collard greens, mac and cheese, cole slaw and potato wedges. Everything was solid. The ribs were well seasoned with a dry rub but also if you wanted you could add the sauce which was tangy and sweet but not overwhelming to the meat. The smoked wings also have a dry rub (possibly the same as the ribs). They were perfectly cooked and both flavorful and moist. They also tasted great with the sauce. Pulled chicken sandwich was also very good. Lightly sauced, but you get extra so you can get as messy as you like. Again, good flavor on the sauce with a nice twang and kick but sweet without being too much. The wedges were my favorite side as they had a little spice to them. The mac and cheese was solid but nothing special. Collards were fine though I actually like them a little less cooked (flavor was good though). Slaw was the vinegar kind which was perfect. Overall, would order again. For the price and production, it was worth it. read more

Some of the best BBQ we've ever ordered! We got brisket,chicken and some great sides Brisket 10/10 Soft, sumptuous, smoky perfection Whole chicken - 7/10 Not as good as the brisket but still tasty. It was a little dry but the run was spicy and nice. macaroni and cheese - 10/10 Delightful,cheesy goodness Potatoes - 8/10 slightly overcooked so they were a little dry but still tasty. Coleslaw - 10/10 FRESH, peppery, more savory than sweet, fresh cabbage is amazing. I would be willing to go back just for this. Cornbread - 8/10 Good but a little dry. Texas toast - 1/10 The only bad thing on the menu. They used garlic oil instead of butter,it tasted old and slightly rancid. This was not good. Wow, I ordered the chopped chicken sandwich and it was simply amazing! The flavor was there and it also paired really well with the barbecue sauce. My sandwich was so packed with so much meat that I could barely lift it up. It's almost as if I did not need the bun! The sandwich came with coleslaw and I also ordered a side of mac & cheese. I wasn't a huge fan of the coleslaw, but the mac & cheese was pretty tasty. For faster service, make sure you order ahead of time. This was a really good meal and I will definitely return and maybe next time I will try something different! Also, just a heads up this spot is carryout only! staff kept announcing every few minutes that it's a wait time 30 minutes for wings and brisket. this is a BBQ place on a Friday ample food should have been prepared and ready to sell. I placed my order paid and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I left out to wait in my car only to return to a crowd waiting to order or to pick up call in orders in addition to people walking in placing orders. there is a very small waiting area. after about 30 minutes I asked how much longer for my order then they were looking for it. I cancelled requested a refund. As this is happening cook says it's ready now I'm working on it while holding up a piece of rib flagging it in the air asking do I want it cut!? order was tips which should have been already cut!? After that scene I really asked for refund. No organization 1 cashier whom seemed to not know what was going on moving slow. I'm not going to eat there EVER !!!! read more

Meat is very dry, ribs stick to the bone. You ask for moist brisket, they give it to you very dry.

OMG.... The brisket was the best that I have EVER had... and the other meats (chicken and sausage) were just as good... the sides were just average. The brisket sandwich is amazing with or without sauce! The chicken sandwich needs the sauce, otherwise it's just okay. The coleslaw isn't the creamy kind, it's like a sweet vinegar based kind. OMG it's FANTASTIC! I LOVE IT! Add it to the sandwiches with the onions and jalapeños and you'll be hooked! The macaroni and cheese, and the lemon parfait are good, not great. What a pleasant surprise today when I discovered this best kept secret. The brisket is awesome and the Mac and cheese was the real deal. A+ for effort. The collards were tender and the ribs were very nice. The sauce on the side for the ribs tasted like a honey bar b que ....loved it. I love the way the meal was packaged and highly encourage everyone to give them a try. You will not be disappointed. I don't know who is in the kitchen, but they definitely know what they are doing. I decided to try them out and glad that I did. The service is awesome. I was greeted promptly upon arrival. Since I'd never had brisket I wanted to try some along with the ribs which I came for. I was given a piece of brisket to try while there, and I was delighted. Seasoned to perfection and very tender. The coleslaw and potatoes were ok. I'll try other sides on my next visit. The Midtown Smokehouse restaurant provided exceptional service; it was attentive, cordial, and great in quality. I have had carry out at this establishment on two occasions. The menu does not offer an excessive number of food items, which is appropriately recognized as the path to success, prioritizing quality over quantity. Midtown Smokehouse has excellent St. Louis style ribs. BBQ ribs of high quality should have a slight "tug" or resistance when you bite into them, but not be tough or fall off the bone. The meat should pull away from the bone with some effort, indicating tenderness but not overcookedness. It is a widespread fallacy that a high-quality barbeque rib should effortlessly separate from the bone. In reality, the meat should put up a slight resistance when pulled, except in cases where dental issues are a concern, you do not want it to fall off of the bone. Midtown Smokehouse ribs are full of flavor and don't require extra sauce! If meat requires extra sauce it means that it was not cooked very well. People are seriously impressed by how moist it is, and how perfectly it's smoked. Those potato wedges are pretty tasty all on their own, and they've got just the right amount of seasoning, if you ask me.
