Have been taking our son and daughter here for years since they were babies. Mary is an expert with kids of all ages--both in managing the kids and in giving a great cut! Whatever our kids were going through that day (tired, wiggly, in a rush, just NOT in the mood for a haircut, etc.), she is able to handle their cuts like a pro--kindly and efficiently. The shop is always clean with nice airflow, so we don't feel worried about coming in during COVID. Even though we moved 30 minutes away, we still bring our kids back here when they need a cut. 10 out of 10 service and quality every time. read more

Brought my daughter here since the place I normally take her didn't have any appts available. The lady spent all of 5 minutes cutting her hair. Did her bangs really crappy. Judged how I wanted my daughters hair. And then she wasn't listening when I told her that she just needs a trim but kept referring to my hair. I felt like she was in a rush for no reason especially since my daughter sits perfectly still.. I will not be coming back. read more

My baby first haircut was terrible. It wasn't cut evenly. I don't recommend this place. Specially for first haircut. I would rather spend more money to get a simple haircut from professionals than paying less and get terrible one. read more

I would give Tickle Clips one million stars if I could. I came in with a wiggly, scared 2.5 year old with a horribly butchered head (cough *my husband did it* cough) and came home with a presentable kid who is no longer terrified of getting a haircut. I took my three year old here for the first time and we had a great experience. The salon was very clean and kid friendly with a train table, fun cars to sit in, televisions, prizes and lollipops. Tickle Clips was great! They were fabulous with making my 3-year old comfortable with all the tools (letting him touch & try the clippers), had great toys to distract kids to keep them occupied, fun plane/car chairs, kid TV shows available...all the things we have paid way more for at higher priced kid salons. They were very responsive and attentive, listened to what we wanted, and took time to double check their work and make sure it met our expectations. My son got his first haircut here. I had an appointment and the stylist kicked another kid out of a chair and said "they have an appointment and you need to wait". She didn't actually check if we had an appointment or asked my name but I felt bad for the other child. It seems pretty apparent that Tickle Clips is owned by the same people who own the nail salon next door and I think they are physically connected. The woman who cut my sons hair wore a mask (which is weird and could be quite scary to a child) and was obviously an esthetician and not a professional hair stylist. My son was quite calm and didn't move around at all he was cut with the scissors on his neck which we noticed when we got home. He had a welt on his neck and was saying "hurts." One side of his hair is also noticeably shorter than the other. It's too expensive for the first haircut option. The haircut isn't a good one and just includes a Polaroid picture and a lock of hair you could just grab off the floor. They also make you type in your credit card number to an iPad with your address and phone number which seems shady and weird- they don't have a normal credit card machine or even a square. The place is cute and the chairs are fun, they just need qualified staff. There was another gal there cutting hair who did seem to be better than the person we had, but I'm not sure. read more

I took my three year old in and was very happy! My infant played on the carpet with toys and my daughter sat still and happy for 20+ minutes while getting her hair cut! I cannot emphasize how nice it was to have a play area for kids not getting their hair cut so I could focus on my daughter who I thought would have a melt down. Just took my toddler here today to get his haircut and it was amazing. The store itself is super cute, clean and kid friendly. My toddler is not the easiest for haircuts but Mary did so well! She worked with me and him in order to give him the best haircut he's had yet. Unfortunately he wouldn't sit in the fun cars but she worked with him on my lap and even carrying him. She did awesome! Hopefully next time he will be ready to sit on his own. We will definitely be coming back here for his next cut and will be requesting Mary! We had an incredibly uncomfortable experience with the hairstylist here and because of that we will not be coming back. Our son also got cut with the clippers, which in my opinion happened because the stylist was too aggressive. We brought our two year old in for a cut and the hair stylist who brought us back had intense aggressive energy that made our little guy even more nervous to be at the salon. Some of the things the stylist said during his cut included sharing that she once worked at a salon that had such strong bleach fumes she miscarried, stating that she could tell my husband worked and I stayed home, and telling my son that he could spray her with the water bottle and they'd have a wet t-shirt contest. The hair cuts are expensive, the stylist did not work well with young children, and she was unprofessional. If I were you, I'd go elsewhere. 03/04/2018 read more

I have taken my 2 year old here 3 times now-- the owner Mary is absolutely wonderful! She greets everyone who walks in, smiles, and remembers you from the time before. My son often has a tantrum-ish experience due to fear of the clippers, but Mary continues to bust out toys and genius strategies for getting him to hold still. They get to people quickly and there's a good play area to use while waiting. Highly recommended! read more

I called this salon and they had an opening so we came right in. Once we got there they were waiting for us and nice as can be. It was my sons first cut (he's 9 months old), I wasn't sure how he'd do, but Mary did a great job keeping him distracted so she could cut his hair without him crying or grabbing at the scissors. Beware this place is a total scam. !!!!!!!! My daughter took my youngest to get a TRIM yesterday for me while I was at work. Soon after I get a panicked Phone call from her crying saying the hairdresser did not listen to her request and chopped off her sisters hair. When I got home that was an understatement!!!! Not only had she cut it short but it was so uneven it literally looked like it had been cut with a lawn mower and there was even a random chunk missing in the back I am still trying to figure that out!!! I called immediately and asked to talk to manager. The gal said he was not there but took my number and said he would call me. No call today so I called the salon again. The same lady answered and then said she had left a message on my phone ( no message exists) I asked again to talk to manager and now today she says "he is out of the country". I asked when he was returning and she said he doesn't "let them know his schedule " . I asked for his number she said " he doesn't let us give clients his number". What a joke. Then she rudely said she had a client and would call me later... my daughters beautiful hair is ruined and I just want a refund and never go back. The multitude of lies I have received has been so rediculous it is comical!!!! This is a place for kids!!! Freaky they are so shady about manager contacts !! Red flag!!! We brought our two year old in for his first haircut on Saturday. He was slightly shy, but Mary did everything she could to make him feel comfortable. We went there for a two year old to get a couple wisps of hair cut and she would only cut bangs (what she thought was bangs, not actually what were her bang) and told us that if she was to cut any more hair she would charge us 17.00 for a full hair cut not 6.00 bang trim. This place argued with me and made my child look like she had a mullet. It was awful. It's frustrating that after arguing about wanting some hairs added to her bangs she refused to cut anymore or she would charge me more money. I think that's a little ridiculous. I took my one year old son here for his first haircut. We had an appointment and Mary was with us promptly at our appointment time. She asked us what we wanted and made some suggestions as to how to best help our son have a good experience. She thoughtfully and expertly involved both my husband and myself. She was quick, gentle and my son had a great first experience. We got a sweet little commemorative card which included my sons picture and a lock of his hair. Mary was so professional and sweet. We will absolutely be back in 4 weeks for his second haircut. I thoroughly recommend Mary at Tickle Clips. I do also suggest an appointment as they were busy. read more

Great little find. I was on the way to the mall and was trying to figure out where to get my kids haircut for school. As we were driving I saw this place and decided to give them a try and am sure glad I did. The stylists were very patient with the children. Also they have tv's to keep the little ones entertained. I showed them the haircuts I wanted for the kids and they did an excellent job on them. They also have toys for kids while they are waiting. I will definitely be back here for the boys next haircut. read more
