I came in and she knew exactly what I wanted and did her thing. I was done with color, cut and style about 1.5 hours later. I like that I don't to drive far or go downtown Portland. Easy parking in shopping plaza in Beaverton.

She's very warm and enthusiastic as a conversationalist and tries to get to know you so the time goes quickly during your appointment, but of course if you'd prefer to zone out or don't want to chat you can let her know too. I had my hair bleached and glossed in Korea last summer, and have needed to get my roots bleached and retouched every few weeks-2 months. I booked an appointment easily through Vagaro, received the confirmation within a few hours, and had a very smooth appointment. I appreciated that Ceanna is not a typical salesy stylist, she doesn't pressure anyone to rebook or buy any products but is happy to guide anyone for what they need. MODA Studios in Beaverton is located in a small older shopping plaza off Hart Rd. It is very approachable and down-to-earth, while keeping their facilities clean and modern without unnecessary frills.

I spent weeks researching someone in the Portland metro area who could take on lifting my natural…read morelevel 2/3, box dyed hair to a level 6 rich brunette without hesitation, and found Micha. Reading her reviews got me excited, and during our consultation, she explained her enzyme-based lifting process that avoids bleach and keeps hair health intact. She took the time to deeply analyze my hair, and set aside extra time during the appointment to adjust as she went since she was undoing months of box color and old faded highlights. Micha gave me a beautiful, lived-in, blended cinnamon chocolate balayage specifically designed to grow out naturally so I wouldn't need touch-ups every few months. She also did a dry cut using unique techniques I loved. In terms of final styling, I love a full bouncy, smooth blowout with a round brush, and am particular about the technique (needs to be sectioned out fully with each section pulled with a lot of heat and tension), so I did end up restyling it at home to my own liking, but that's just me. What she created with my color and cut though was exactly what I wanted. Beyond her skill, Micha is a true creative, full of spunk and confidence with the wildest stories. If you need things done a very specific way and aren't open to a creative approach, she may not be your person. But she knows exactly what she's doing, and you just need to let her do her thing. You're getting a thoughtful perfectionist who will make you feel completely new again!

My hair was long to begin with and I'm shocked that she had an issue styling it the way I requested in the photo I provided. The cut looks nothing like what I wanted but there was obviously nothing I could say to get her to fix it while she was snipping away the excess inches. I'm so disappointed and I'm honestly shocked she had the audacity to ask me to pay for something this bad.

They take their services and customer care very seriously and not only do III feel good about my decision to go, I REALLY LIKE my new cut. Feel better? Start by looking better! I've been a client of Kari (and Dosha) since 2017 and felt compelled to give this review. I had…read morepreviously liked what Kari did with my hair (full deep brown highlights on a bi-yearly basis). Her quality of service has been diminishing for some time, but my recent experience has led me to write this review. I came in to get my hair colored before my wedding about two weeks ago, which I truly regret. After asking Kari for essentially the same treatment as we've always done, she used a new color mix, barely colored my hair, and charged me $200+ (despite me showing her multiple pictures). Kari has done my hair at least 15 times, so this was very surprising. My sense is that she just got lazy and stopped listening as I was a long term client. She then offered me a redo, which I accepted. Unfortunately, she rushed through the entire redo, heating my hair excessively to lighten it, to the point of it becoming very brassy. I have dark black hair without color in it, so this is very contrasting with my natural tone. When I requested a refund (after two appointments where Kari did not listen to what I was looking for), the salon informed me that because I requested a refund I could no longer be a client at this salon (refunds are against their policy, supposedly). My bachelorette party is in two weeks and my wedding is in 2 months, and Kari and the staff's lack of attention to quality has created a lot of unnecessary stress for me. Thankfully, I was able to find an alternate salon to clean up Kari's mess. Kari is a master stylist, so for someone at her level to provide such poor service says a lot about the entire salon. Overall, the lack of emphasis on quality is something not worth paying $200+ for at this business. On top of the coloring service, the team was truly unprofessional in the way they handled this situation. 0/10 stars, and buyer beware.
