I had an "appointment" for myself and my son. When we arrived, they ignored me. I stood at the counter, and then a person yelled whether I had an appointment. I said "yes," and she yelled, "Then sit down." Another person came in, "a walk-in." They came to the counter and checked him in. I stood back up and mentioned my appointment, and the woman said she entered it. The "walk-in" immediately got his haircut started. Another "walk-in" came in, and again, immediately was handled. Then, you guessed it, a third "walk-in" came in and was immediately handled. Finally, someone came to the front after finishing, and asked yet again (15 minutes past the original appointment) if I had an appointment. I said yes, and then she finally took my son and myself about 10 minutes later. During the haircut, I mentioned this, and the stylist said, "They all had appointments," a clear lie. So, I mentioned that I heard each one ask and say they were walk-ins. She ignored my response. Another stylist walked behind me, and I guess wasn't smart enough to know there were two mirrors and give a face to the woman working on me, like I was being unreasonable by asking about this. Finally, the haircuts were the worst we have ever had. I asked for my son's to be just a trim, and they basically shaved his head. I asked for mine to be more than just a trim, and the woman clipped here and there for 30 minutes. When I got up, it looked like nothing was done. The absolute worst place to get a haircut. Highly recommend going somewhere else. Not only are they bad at cutting hair, they are also rude and don't even follow their appointment schedule. read more

He discovered he loves it when they wash his hair and give him the warm towel treatment! I've seen Toni a couple times now. Cassie a few times and Andrea once. All three have given me a fantastic cut. As I sit and watch the other barbers as well, they all seem to be giving great cuts and the men and boys that walk out have good looking cuts. I love the ease of the online appointment setting. Only one thing I wish is that the company allows the barbers to use real straight razors instead of the beginner ones they have. They hurt and I get a burn. Not the individual barber's fault though. Ok so this is super disappointing!! My husband got his hair cut today. I got back from a trip and looked at the back of his head and there is a giant bald spot !!!! The woman that cut his hair clearly messed up and didn't say a word to him. Just let him leave with a bald patch missing from his head. Not sure if anyone else saw this mishap when he left but it's unacceptable. The convenience of the location was great. But this will be the last time we go back. Sorry for not posting a name. New to the area and saw the sign that walk-ins are welcome. I walk in and see 5 employees that took a few mins to greet me. There were no customers waiting. I was told no appointment was available today but I see no waiting and my hair cut would have taken 15 minutes tops. This is not the ideal way to be greeted and welcomed. I will not be returning. I called ahead of time, called around 11am, they had an appointment at 11:30 and I rushed over so my son could get a haircut. We walk in, barley get greeted and one of the lady's asked if we had an appointment, we did and we took a seat. 4 other people walked in after us and got started on. No one even acknowledged us after we sat down. As some of the lady's finished other clients, they just walked around the salon looking lost. One of the lady's took a man to her station as we continued to sit there so I spoke up. She pointed to another lady and just said she can take you. Finally someone takes my son after one of the workers at the counter told her we were waiting and when I said we had an 11:30 she's like it was in the computer for 11:40, why did that matter now at 11:56? I asked who the manager, who was at lunch so I didn't get to speak to her. We had a birthday party & my son wanted a haircut before the party but seriously, it took all my will to stay. We visit the Beaverton area often and with hair cut salons closed in most of Northern California around the holidays, I opted to give The Barbers - Progress Ridge, a try. Booking my appointment was easy and even though I arrived early, they took me right away. Positioned in a comfortable chair with sports on several TV's, I ask to receive "the works". "The Works" includes: cut, shampoo, scalp massage and hot lather neck shave. Total cost for this service is $25.95. My stylist was a true professional. She took time to determine the cut that was best for me, provided good conversation, and did a wonderful job on the cut and style. With places like Super Cuts, Sports Clips and Fantabulous Sams, it has been forever since I went to a Barber Shop. Because of my excellent experience at The Barbers, I will now time haircuts so that when in Beaverton, I can visit this place again. The worst cut and service. It felt like it was illegal to be there everyone was scared that when the police would drive by.

Hit or miss on the quality of your haircut. I get a buzz cut and still have to touch up. It's the same clipper all over and yet somehow I get charged for a full haircut. Might as well request a full haircut then change my mind. Then I would be paying $42 for more than 10 minutes of being in the chair. Finally how hard is it to get the hair off my face? I get home and have to take a shower to get all the hair off my face and out of my ears. I'll definitely stop tipping at any Barbers until the work justifies it. Probably avoid this place after 5pm if at all. read more

When I want a haircut, I want my hair to be about a 1/4 of an inch in length. You'd think something like that would be pretty darn easy to do. Well, I've had some "Super" and some "Fantastic" haircuts that didn't come close to how the "names" of the establishments suggest. One "Super" haircut was so bad, not only did I ask the girl to just shave my whole head after she had finished, my seven year old daughter screamed when she saw what the girl did. Lucky for me (and the girl who "attempted" to cut my hair) I know "hair will grow back". With that said... I recently moved from Hawaii to Oregon. One month had passed and I needed to find a place to cut my hair. I should mention, prior to my move, I had been going to the same girl for over 25 years. I've had my share of bad haircuts. I even toyed with the idea of buying my own razor and trying to cut my own hair. Why risk paying $15 for a not-so-Super haircut... Well, I was driving past "The Barbers" new location in Beaverton one day and saw a sign saying, "Men's haircuts, $5". For $5, I don't expect much and figured it couldn't be as bad as the "Super" haircut which has since scarred my memory. I took the risk and walked in one late morning. Being a new shop, in a new shopping center and during a weekday, I was the only patron. I was greeted by a friendly girl named April. April is in her early 20's, so I "wrongly" assumed she was the hostess/cashier (sorry April). I quickly learned, April was the one who would soon to be giving me a haircut. Hmmm... Well, I sat down and April assessed my hair's present state. As she ran her fingers through my hair, she asked a few questions. Within a minute, she confidently stated, "I can do that" in response to what my expectations were. To make this long story short(er), April did a wonderful job! I will definitely go back to her again! My haircut wasn't exactly how it usually looks, but it was more than "close enough". I've sure in my next visit or two, I will be 5-star pleased with my haircuts. April mentioned the regular price of haircuts will be $15.99 once the Grand Opening special price ends. Well worth it for me! The price includes vacuuming your hair from your neck and shirt and a short vibrating massage. I think I can do without the massage, but I'm no fool (in this case at least) - I will sit back and enjoy it. read more

It's hard to get a good looking, military-style flat top haircut in the peace-nik Portland metro area. I used to go to the Sherwood Barbers where I'd had to train a gal over several years of getting my hair done "just right". Sadly, she moved on, and too far away. I called this Barbers ahead of time to ask them if anyone could a decent flat top. April answers and said that Lori does several customer's hair like, and that she would be my best bet. After finding out when Lori worked, made plans to come down. Like any Barber's, there's soda and popcorn, lots of TV's with ESPN on. It's a new shopping center, so everything's nice and clean. I managed to come in when they weren't busy, and we were seen right away. Lori is friendly and responsive to any comments to how you want your service. But most notable is that she's FAST. Seriously fast. And not in a bad way. When it was (quickly!) done, my hair was exactly as I'd requested, and just right! I've found my new Barberess! read more

I've been getting my hair cut here for the past year and it's been consistently great. Almost every stylist there has done a great job. I used go to the on down the road but I got good and bad days depending on who was there but everyone at this location is great. The wait can be quite long unfortunately. On a busy weekend expect to wait 30 min to 45 min for a walk in. They do have call in appointments. read more

I asked if the shop could do skin fades and they said yes. So I thought I would give it a try, and was horrified with the work I got. I did not receive a fade at all and my hair was not lined up at all. This is by far the worst haircut I've received in my life and very disappointed with the effort put into it. Will not be choosing this place again. I was so mad that I didn't even know I paid more then what the haircut was really worth. I'm now realizing how bad this person was and I don't remember her name but she didn't speak English that well and her accent was strong. But hope this barbershop could refrain from agreeing to being able to say they can do certain haircuts if they really can't. There's a neck shave you can add for $2 and a shoulder massage which is really nice. I took my soon-to-be 5 year old here for a haircut. He has always gone to Little Clippers in Lake Oswego but he's now ready for a big boy cut. Our very good friends take their son here and recommended we try it. They suggested requesting the girl that cuts their son's hair. She was great with my little guy! They offer popcorn which my son loved, but what totally won him over was the (hand-held) massage you get at the end of the haircut.
