Worst haircut I ever had.!!! Uneven all over and when I said my hair didn't do well when razor cut she said "oh curly hair is so forgiving". I had to stop her from damaging my hair any further. Based on other reviews, it looks like they do a good job. Unfortunately, I've never been given the chance to check it out on a walk-in basis. I believe they have a sign at the front door that says "walk-ins welcome." I've tried going in a few different times over a years period, and they are always completely booked, meaning no availability all day, and got a vibe that I wasn't welcomed without an appointment. After the third attempt, I just left with some expensive hair product, and went elsewhere for a cut. So, if you have the freedom of planning out your day and working around their schedule, I've heard great things about them in person and on Yelp. If you don't have that freedom, maybe look elsewhere. read more

Girlfriend had her hair colored, first they missed tons of spots and streaks, they didn't color her roots or the bottom half inch of her hair, and refuse to do anything about it even after admitting their mistake. $110 wasted, and now we have to have it done by a REAL PROFESSIONAL for her graduation. read more

Went in to get my hair colored. This my was first time getting it professionally done. I usually box dye my hair. I got a referral from a friend who told me she gets her hair done by Melody for years, one of the stylist at this shop. My friends hair was nice and had different hues in it which is what I was looking for-for my dark hair. I just wanted some pop of color brown on my hair. I showed Melody the picture, exchanged text messages of what to expect and etc. she said she could do it. I got in, very friendly and sweet. She educated me on color and what she was going to do to my hair AFTER SHOWING HER THE PICTURE OF WHAT I WAS WANTING. mind you, the picture is clear and anyone who sees it will be like oh that's easy. Melody mentioned color can't go over color so she needed to lift the color. Bleach was involved. My hair was looking funky already with the highlights she did with foils. I had no idea what the process would be to accomplish the picture but I trusted her since she said color can't be over color and assuming she's just lifting it by bleach so when the color goes over it'll blend nice and the brown I was wanting will pop but my hair will still be primary dark... okay so after the foils, she went in with toner. That's what she said... then after, she dyed my hair wet with medium brown. Okay okay, after she blow dry my hair.... I KID YOU NOT, my heart dropped!!!! It was no where near the picture I showed her. I don't know if she's color blind or not or what she was thinking either... she even told me that the picture wouldn't be a process thing. I wasn't trying to go blonde! I was so heart broken but I was nice about it. I didn't want to react because there were others in there and she had another appointment right after me. I kept looking at my hair. I told her I didn't like the orangeness on the bottom and I asked why is it so light. Even her face had confusion and I saw it. I knew she knew she messed up but of course she's not going to admit it because she wants her money. The labor... I can see why but honestly she didn't do her job like I was expecting her to. This is ridiculous. I don't write reviews unless I absolutely love the product but this.. this Is my first BAD REVIEW ever!!!! I even drove 35 mins to get to this appointment that I booked in weeks advance. I can't believe I was so excited. Anyways, we've been exchanging messages since she did my hair and she says next available appointment for 2nd round of color would be in 3 weeks (this was after I said I was unsatisfied) and she was still going to charge me. Guys, my hair is horrible and I can't wait that long. I asked about anything sooner or with someone else and still I would've been charged. Idk why melody couldn't pocket the charge with the other stylist instead of making me the customer pay for her mistake. Honestly, the other stylist would've agreed with me and tell me as well my hair is ugly. It was orange with brass and it was not blending well. My inner hair was reddish orange and the streaks weren't even streaks (when she did the foil) they were like blocks. I'm not kidding on that!!! So I went to cosmo prof and got hair dye and solution and dyed my hair back myself. I was not going to spend another $50 just to color it dark again. I spent $150, gave $10 tip (which I shouldn't have) I really want my money back!!!!!!!!!! This is so unfair!!! Here are pics of my before & after from the salon and when I dyed my hair myself. FYI- The sunlight captured the picture in a different lighting, but believe me when I say different types of red/orange was definitely going on in my hair and I have a bunch of people to vouch for that. read more

My hair turned out awful. There was no blending done to be seen and the sides look choppy. She left the hair in front of my ears long so I look like I have mutton chops. The lady's hands were shaky the entire time which made me think she would accidentally clip my ears. If you have short hair do not go here. You will have better luck at a barber shop. read more

Went in today to get my hair cut (dramatically short) by Tonya. I showed her a picture of what I wanted. Well she pretty much... NAILED IT! I am so happy (: I told her I wanted really short (its at the nape of my neck) shaggy hair. I was worried id look like a soccer mom, but thank god I dont (no offense to the soccer moms). She gave my hair really nice texture, really gorgeous even front bangs. She asked to see the reference photo a few times so she could get it as close as possible, its pretty much exactly what I had shown her. Today I went and got my hair cut (donated 8 plus inches) and Tonya the hairdresser did a fabulous job and made me feel comfortable considering how nervous I was to cut my hair. After she cut off my donation she styled my hair wonderfully & even gave me a tutorial on pinning my thick red hair into a bun....and even gave me some special bobby pins! Worst A-line hair cut ever! I showed Tabetha a photo of exactly what I wanted, but instead of her being honest about the fact that she is not familiar with the style, she starts cutting and asks a fellow hairdresser for some advice! She was proud of the finished product but I hated it. Tried to explain to her that it looked like a bowl cut, blunt edges needed to be softened, needed more layers in the back, she told me she didn't understand!! I'm not sure about the rest of the hairdressers in Absolute Hair but DO NOT go to Jo Flaig, she doesn't know how to cut hair and she is extremely unprofessional, very dishonest and all she wants is your money. I don't think she ever heard of customer service, and I'm sure she is not interested in building a clientele otherwise she will try a little harder to please a client. I have done my hair in several different places all over the country, but never, ever experience such lack of customer service, I'm so upset, I'm writing this review to let people know about her, so you don't make the same mistake. read more
