If I was able to give negative stars I would. Went here being new to the area and saw on google they had good reviews..THE VERY WORST experience I've EVER had anywhere getting my nails and toes done. Walked in..was told they could see me but then was reminded the entire 5 yes 5 hours I was there that they were running behind for seeing me. Made me feel super uncomfortable. I left after 5 hours without my nails even finished! Was told to come back this morning and there is absolutely no way I will ever go back there again. On top of the horrible service and the awful mess they did on my nails they really had the nerve to charge me 95..which mins you I definitely noticed was 20 over what they charged everyone else. Do not come here, I'm calling and asking for my money back and if it's not refunded I'm putting a stop payment on the charge on my card..wasted my entire day just to have to go pay to have them completely redone. read more

Never again. If I could give zero stars I would. Booked an appointment for 12:30 and got there at 12:25 and they were just starting another client. I waited for 30 minutes until Tia asked what design i wanted and showed her and she told me that she was unable to do it in the time I had told her I had. It was a simple french nail design and she couldn't do it in 1 hour and 30 minutes. If you can't do that what can you even do? While Tia was telling me she couldn't do it she seemed to be frustrated and disrespected that I even asked if she could do the design that I wanted!! I was also told that if Tia doesn't want to do your nails she does not have to. I feel like that is very much the clients choice of what they want done to their nails. Now I understand that sometimes they can't do a certain design but that doesn't mean that you just completely deny service to someone! If that wasn't the worst part there was a police officer waiting outside the entire time and even came in for about 15 minutes saying that they were going to arrest Tia's husband! Did not feel like a welcoming environment and do not recommend to anyone!!! read more

I was in town for the weekend and wanted to take my 90-year-old mother for her very first pedicure. Because of the great reviews, I chose to take her to Tia's. The staff were friendly and very nice, but the pedicures with the worst I've ever seen. The polishes must have been very old because we've both sat under the dryer for a long time, 20+ minutes, and my nails still impressed with material a day later. My mom got pink within glitter polish on top and I didn't notice, but mom said that the glitter polish was very stringy coming out of the bottle- they still used it and her nails had very splotchy glitter and she even came out with some strange color on the side of her toe. I went back in to explain that the whole situation and experience was bad and all he could offer was to redo and sit under the dryer for another 30 minutes. I'm on vacation and have no time to do that. So very disappointed with this place and their customer service when disappointed. I would stay far far away!!! read more

I was very excited about going here since I'd just moved to St. Joseph a couple of days before. They got me in the afternoon I wanted and Tia and her husband were both very nice. I wanted to love this place because of how friendly everyone was. But, they were far too busy and Tia didn't have time to give quality service. She used some type of grinding tool that I've had used on my nails before, but NEVER on my cuticles. I was a bit surprised but figured that she knew what she was doing. She drilled through one cuticle and I pulled back and said "ouch". She was very nice and said she was sorry, but she continued to do it on 3 other nails. I left in some pain, but it wasn't until the evening wore on and the pain was bad. The next day it was even worse. I guess she used this grinder on my cuticles because it was faster and she was behind. But, it was just wrong. The color of dip powder was beautiful, but I haven't gotten to enjoy it yet since it's been 3 days and my cuticles are still scabbing over. I posted a photo of the bloodied cuticles, but not sure if it added to this review. I'm very sad that I had to go through this and wish it had been different. :( read more

I am very disappointed in Tia's Silver Nails. This is my first time ever writing a bad review for anything. I was so excited to try somewhere new and have pretty nails for NYE. I made an appointment and arrived 20 mins early. I ended up waiting a hour and 15 mins (after my original appointment time) with the only thing accomplished was removing my gel polish. I wouldn't be so mad if they were busy, BUT when you let a walk-in customer go in front of a customer who scheduled an appointment due to their nails "requiring more skill"(direct quote), that is quite RUDE in my opinion. Don't make a customer wait who had the consideration of scheduling an appointment ahead of time. read more

First off they only do dip nails so if you prefer acrylic find another place, second if you find a sample even of their own making they can't do it! "Tia's" husband for third is the one that will soak your nails off and if he does not like what you say will smart mouth the rest off the time you are in the place!! The young lady who started working on my nails did not understand me when I said "I get ingrown nails so do not cut the sides at all. Just file straight across with an emery board". She nodded and said "ok", and to make sure, I repeated that I did not want the sides of my toenail cut. She nods ok again. The first thing she did was cut a pretty large piece off one side of my big toenail! I started to speak to say not to cut it and before I could get the words out, she cut the OTHER side too!!! I tried to explain why this is a problem but she did NOT seem to understand. In a few weeks, my toe is going to be red and painful where this will have to grow back! I found Tia's quite by accident, and it's turned out to be a great salon. Everyone is warm and friendly. The quality of the work is great, prices are extremely reasonable. I will continue to have my nails done at Tia's. read more

Me and my friends came here as walk-ins to get our nails or toes done. The experience was...interesting to say the least. When we first arrived the older gentlemen at the desk was very kind and said he would have time for all of us. I sat down and walked to pick a color. The man insisted he choose for me and seemed upset when I wouldn't let him. I then asked for coffin shaped nails for my full set and they informed me that they would be $15 extra because it would take "more skill" than the other shapes. which was ridiculous so I decided to continue with just a pedicure. As I was sitting down the man at the desk whom had no skills and I'm 100% positive isn't licensed started the pedicure process. He mentioned that he wouldn't be doing the paint because he doesn't know how to but proceeded to give me the worst massage of my life. As he was doing my toes he spent the ENTIRE time arguing with the other ladies in the salon saying they don't "listen to him". When he was done with my massage the other women had to force him to get up so she could finish me. He also talked to the other women in broken English as if they couldn't understand him and it was very rude. On top of all of that it smells like rotten eggs and I paid full price. I don't even want to give a one star review. It shouldn't take 3 hours to get a mani pedi. And I had to stop Tia from digging on my big toe. She took her clippers 3/4 the way down the side of it, under my nail! I went into this establishment without any issues but left with a bloody toe that hurt all day and this is day two and it now hurts at the nail bed. Of course even after speaking to her husband, who manages the shop, about not being happy he charged me full price $62. I won't be back and I highly recommend you find somewhere else to go where they listen to your request. After all you are the paying customer. read more

The people were very nice and the shop is undergoing renovations. However sanitary conditions need to change. They did not autoclave the tools they used before and after manicures, just washed them in a sink. The towels were crusty and hard and the nail polish was too watered down.
