After looking at my hair, and listening to the different techniques, I was using to keep/grow my hair, they deemed I was a good candidate, so I put down a $1000 deposit. A few weeks before I was supposed to go in for surgery, they wanted to do a pre-surgery facetime consult which I guess is normal. I did not respond right away to about 2-3 voicemails, so they texted me on a Wednesday me saying if I do not respond by the end of the week, they will keep my $1000 deposit and cancel my appointment. The next day, Thursday, they said they were going to keep my deposit and cancel my appointment. So, I called later that day, saying that they couldn't keep my deposit because it wasn't the end of the week. The receptionist responded, saying, " We have never really kept the deposit, that's just what we say because we want the person to respond." Did I respond right away? No, and that is on me. I still think the way they handled this scenario was not very professional at all. So, I made an appointment for a consult later that day to discuss the next steps and what to do to prepare for the surgery I guess. This is where we get to the part of the story that made me write this review, and why I only gave one star. I got on the FaceTime call, talked to the nurse a little bit about the not-so-great back and forth we had, and at this point, I felt like we kind of gotten everything squared away and were back on the right foot. The nurse then handed the phone to the doctor who would be performing my surgery. He took one look at me and said, "I don't think you're a good candidate for hair transplant. You've got more hair than you think" Mind you, this was after I had already gone in, done a consult, was deemed a good candidate for this specific procedure, and put down a $1000 deposit. I was caught off guard by this, but kind of pulled my hair back and showed where I am severely thinning/almost bald and said, "I feel like it's getting pretty bad." He then said, "What do I know? I'm just the expert." Then tossed the phone down toward the nurse, finishing with, "I can't talk to this guy." The nurse then went into damage control mode, walking out of the room and telling me that normally people get a larger portion of their hair transplanted. That, coupled with what the surgeon said, made me think the real sentiment behind what they were saying was 'you're not paying enough for this to be worth it for us'. I was quoted for the procedure to cost $10,400. Maybe I'm looking too far into that, but maybe not. Anyway, there's no denying that guy was very unprofessional. The nurse continued by saying that anyone getting the procedure needs to be taking minoxidil religiously twice a day for six months. I think she was only saying that because I had admitted earlier in our conversation that I wasn't the best at doing it twice a day and had even missed days applying the minoxidil on occasion. Side note, I had told the person giving my original consult the same thing about my minoxidil using habits, and they said it's not ideal, but not a dealbreaker by any means. The nurse then advised me to set up another appointment, six months from now after I had been on a more strict regiment of applying the minoxidil twice a day. I told her I would need to look at my calendar to figure out a good time to set the consult 6ish months for them and we ended the FaceTime call. I then texted a few minutes later saying I'm not sure when I would be able to get to it and asked for the thousand dollar deposit to be refunded, to which she complied with no objections, which was nice. So, I guess the net of everything was zero because wasn't out any money. It was a waste of time though, and I don't think I was treated very well at all. If/when I get a procedure to fill in my hair, I will probably still use Bosley, but there's no way I'm going to the Kansas City office, and I would tell anyone who asked look elsewhere as well.

The night before my appointment, I realized a $75 service was added to my appointment so I reached…read moreout to Cherhea asking why as I did not book the service. She responded with "Good evening yes it wasn't added to your service" word for word. In fact, I copied and pasted that message from our text thread from the night before my appointment. The service added was not a necessary service, it was a "shampoo and style". I would've been happy to leave without my hair being "styled" as it literally was a 10 minute straightener curl which most salons just do out of courtesy and certainly wasn't worth $75 so I would not have booked it, also part of that service was a shampoo which is a part of coloring hair so why would I pay for that again. Upon arriving at the salon, I was informed that the Stylist was running late, 25 minutes later I was called back. She directed me to her boutique to spend more money. No courtesy text. The services that I booked were an all over color and scalp treatment... those services went fine, although my scalp was on fire during the entire hair color process, which is not normal. The third service that I booked was eyelash clusters, I left the shop with glue ALL over both of my eyelids that I have video/photo proof of and a random lash cluster sitting on my eyelid, which she pointed out during service but did not remove. Towards the end of my appointment whenever I was supposed to be getting my $75 straightener curl style I was told to go sit in the waiting room so that she could get started on her next two clients. This was the end of my appointment, and I should have just been taken care of and finished but instead I was sat in the waiting room with the wet head so that she could take care of clients that she overlapped with my appointment. By the time I was called back to the chair to finish, my hair was dry and she had to sprits it with water to blow it out. My appointment was set from 1 PM to 3 PM and because of the Overlapping of clients I was not able to leave the salon until 4:11. I reached out to Cherhea To see if we could fix the issue of her overcharging me $90 for my appointment and she refused stating I was aware of services as if I don't have text messages to prove everything im saying. Again, I messaged her the night before to get this taken care of before stepping into her salon, because I was unwilling to pay for the extra service that she added for absolutely no reason, and without consent, or letting me know. So here we are.. That was my experience, in it's totality, and I will be disputing this issue with my bank. Stylist responded ridiculously & incoherently to my valid complaints. The lack of professionalism and accountability is crazy. I am simply stating the facts of my visit. I was very graceful during my time at the salon. I made it clear prior to my appointment that I was not interested in booking a shampoo & style, why would I book a shampoo and I'm getting color services? None of this is at all sensible/professional nor were the added services communicated or consented to, in fact I made it very clear I was not interested in it the night before. And the stylist reassured me through text that it "wasn't added to my appointment". I was never made aware that there were any red flags in my booking Nor was I ever made aware or notified by the stylist that a $75 service was added. The only communication that the stylist had for me prior to my appointment was my hair type and what color I would like. She mentioned ZERO concerns about my booking or added service. Man I wish could add video of the way my eyelashes looked when I walked out of there. I should have refused to pay, but I didn't want things to get out of hand. I sent the stylist a polite but to the point message in regards to this, unfortunately, we were unable to resolve the issue.

She is constantly educating herself and she brings those learning back to her business and clients. I have always had short hair, however, when Cherhea started perfecting her clip-Ins, I had to try it and I love it. So much so, I purchased two with two different looks. It is so easy to take in and out and it looks so natural. I would recommend this service to anyone, especially if you want to change up your look without the hassle of damaging your hair with glue, braids and sew-Ins. Toni Brown
