Kenna was patient and took the time to help her get more comfortable. She was able to pick out her desired car chair and show on tv. They had several subscription services so she was able to select a show that she would enjoy. They also had lots of great toy options to help distract the kiddos. Kenna made sure to ask me before offering things like lollipops or sparkles, which I appreciated. Kenna did an amazing job on my daughter's hair! She has several years of experience with kids cuts (I think she said 7) and clearly loves her job/business. She asked for my thoughts for the cut and then also helped cut her hair certain ways to help decrease knots. At the end of the cut she also offered to braid and add sparkles, which my daughter excited accepted. We drove a long way to get to Laughs and Locks because their reviews were so much better than kids cut places closer to my home. It was also a nice touch to add a Polaroid picture and lock of hair pouch for the first time cut. The place was also solid - not too overwhelming but enough touches to cater to little ones. There is a nice play area for kids to use while waiting and several options to occupy their time. Four options are available for kids to choose from, and while they could use some touch up in terms of cleaning, they were nice. Overall, it's definitely newer, but it appears it has been kept up well. If we lived here, we would be back for sure! As we walked in, a mom was angry at the stylist because the back of the cut was uneven and the stylist tried to tell her it was a cowlick (it wasn't). Unfortunately we got the same stylist and I showed her a pretty common boys cut (shaved sides, LONG on top). My son came in with a lot of length so it shouldn't have been an issue. Tell me why this lady cut his hair so short and unevenly that the only way to fix it would be to shave him? At the register, the manager saw it and offered to fix his bangs (since one half is up to his scalp and the other half was longer), but I said no because I didn't want it any shorter. My poor kid left there so sad about his hair. Unfortunately, we're just going to have to let it grow out a bit and gel it so it doesn't look so awful. This was the final straw for Shear Madness and we'll never be back

He was just "driving" the tractor chair he was sitting in, looking at himself in the mirror, and taking in views of everyone else in the salon. He moved around a lot but Perla just moved with him! I asked what happened and she refused to respond to me. I was never rude or inappropriate--our conversations were about hair and I complimented her work. I was left wondering what went wrong? I had even booked an appointment to get my hair colored. I trusted her. The strangest part? She had her friends stalking my instagram stories. Being ghosted by someone I'd trusted as my stylist was disappointing and confusing. Because of that experience, I won't be returning and can't recommend her. She isn't interested in explaining her weird and unprofessional behavior. Cowardly passive aggressive ghosting with no explanation. Unprovoked. And childish. And you can't trust people like that with your hair.
