We found this restaurant, not far from our hotel. We ordered Menudo and huevos rancheros with a side of ham. I also ordered a mimosa and then a margarita on the rocks. The Menudo wasn't top-tier, but it was really good overall. The Huevos rancheros were good. We have noticed the coffee that we have gotten here in the different restaurants we have been in is really really delicious. It's light with natural cream and pure sugar so much different than the U.S. The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. They were patient with me learning Spanish. Everything was great overall if you're in the area, I highly recommend coming here! read more

This is probably one of the most Americanized Mexican restaurants left on Revolution. Nothing here to frighten the casual American Tourists that make up the usual customers at this establishment. Nothing here to surprise you and nothing out of the ordinary, very safe place to eat for those who are not adventurous in their dinning experiences. Same primary selection of Mexican food you would find in any place north of the border. It is historic and a part of old Tijuana history and culture, but nothing exciting about the food. It's kind of the place you think of in your hometown America when you want Mexican. But there are so many better places to go. Be adventurous! read more

We came here for lunch and had a great experience. We shared one plate -- the fish filet al mojo de ajo -- and it was absolutely delicious! It came with white rice and vegetables, which made it a healthy and satisfying meal. The price was very affordable, the restaurant was very clean, and the waiter was super nice. First time visiting here. Had a beef burger and flan dessert. The beef burger was amazingly great. It was made fresh, juicy, and crisp on the outside. The burger was big and served hot off the kitchen. We also got hand cut fries. Although the fries were soft but they were made freshly off the kitchen. The flan was small in size but made up on taste. It was very soft , delicate and melt in the mouth. I will return back to try additional dishes from their menu. read more

Walking in the staff was very inviting and smiles all around. We came in for a late breakfast and the food was good and made fresh. They have a good amount of choices ,mexican and american style. We ended up coming back twice and definitely will keep this place in mind next time we're in tijuana. The place was very spacious and they're accommodating for big or small groups. It is family friendly from what we saw. Its right in the corner by a 7-11, give this place a try you wont be disappointed. Just fyi the salsa on most dishes aren't spicy but if you like spicy like me just let your server know and they make it spicy. Thanks again for helping with our first trip to tijuana!! read more

As a woman with a full Mexican background raised in LA, who enjoys smoking and eating great food...I would like to let my fellow Americans and any other tourist know that this place is SUCKS I'm sorry but the chilaquiles here are a joke ! This is Tijuana guys come on ! Lol I'm literally is disbelief that a restaurant in Tijuana uses canned beans and canned salsa. The salsa was really thick, my egg was burnt and the beans tasted and looked like mushed dog food from a can and the chicken was super dry, I give a star for the tortillas for being a perfect crunch consistency and the second star for the bit of queso fresco that was sprinkled by the salt bae. That made it somewhat edible ‍ waiter was ok. I really like this place, and everyone seems to speak English. But most businesses of this type in Tijuana have people that speak English. Well, I've been here about 6-7 times in the last few years. I always get good service. I've had a live band a couple times, and a karaoke night once. Interestingly, last week the band was singing American oldies and songs like Pretty Woman. The band was just about perfect at singing those songs. Most customers seemed to be Mexican, and they were enjoying the old American music. When I think of Mexican food, this is what I think of. So, maybe they kind of make it the way Americans think Mexican food is. But, Tijuana is a border town. When I've travelled far in to Mexico, the food is different from what I see in the U.S. Here, it is what I expect in the U.S., but, it is very good. I honestly struggled to eat all of the food every time I came here, they give a lot of food. Well, as I expect traditional Mexican food, sometimes it can have lots of oil dripping from the food. But, yes, it's very delicious. But, I've ate at many other restaurants in Mexico that don't have this much oil. I think I know who the owner is. A very fit looking man. He is extremely friendly. He patted me on the shoulder and welcomed me on this last trip, and he is fluent in English. The one thing that I did not like this trip; I went to this restaurant twice last week. When I sat at the bar like I normally do, a guy 2 chairs from me starts smoking. He was a friendly older man, that spoke some English to me. I honestly didn't get bothered by his cigarette, so the ventilation must be good. But.... I am just not used to having someone smoking when I am eating in a restaurant. I would hope they start to phase out the smoking. As you can see in the other reviews, the other reviewers also mentioned the smoking. Other than that, I always stop here when I make a trip to Tijuana. I also go to Caesers at least once. read more

Food was AMAZING. Never have I ever ate such good enchiladas. The prices on the food is such a good deal, compared to prices in Los Angeles. This is the second time I come here when I am in Tijuana and I will continue to make it a habit to come here when I'm across the border. read more

Nice. Clean. Tasty food at reasonable prices. They serve a decent breakfast and lunch/dinners. Local cuisine along with standard American diner food. A good combination. We chose the taco tray, spicy vegetable soup and sauteed mushrooms. Enough to feed 5. I thought we may need to order more but the honest waiter advised this would be more than enough. My dad and I had a great time at this place. Many restaurants and bars close early on Sunday's in Tijuana, but Tilly's was rockin'. Staff were friendly, there was a fun English cover band and killer shrimp tacos. No complaints! read more

Worst service ever!! Came in to have dinner. The waiter that took our order seemed to be drunk. We ordered 2 plates enchiladas Suizas de pollo, and a taco plate. They bring the 2 enchiladas plates and my friend didn't get her taco plate. So the other waiter came , and said there wasn't any other plate. So he goes and tells the chef there's another order didn't want to make anymore food said the kitchen was closed. So the waiter came and say the kitchen is closed. So my friend stays without what she orders. Never had the worst service. I just walked out and left the plates there. Very wrong. read more

Pros: kind staff, nice decor and live music on a Thursday night. Cons: The food was so terrible I decided to write my first Yelp! review. I ordered the tortilla soup and it was quite literally a bowl of tomato soup accompanied by a plate of tortilla chips, sliced avocado and chunks of cotija cheese. This restaurant caters to the locals which is why I was intrigued. Unfortunately, I was terribly disappointed. Delicious free salsa and chips. The verde is hot af. Delicious tacos. It depends on the staff whether or not they can speak any English at all. They have english menus but that doesn't mean your server will understand you perfectly. read more

Great service but the chicken was rubbery and not cooked enough. Also was hot when served on the salad which made the lettuce taste like cooked spinach instead of being crispy. Menu says salad prepared table side but I was at the bar and they just made it in back. Went back again and ordered the Molcajete Mixta. It was great except for stale corn tortillas. The waiter decided it was a great idea to help the table next to us light up 4 cigarettes in total complete violation of the no smoking laws in Baja and we left immediately. The look on the waiters face when no tip was left was hilarious. read more
