She recommended a milk punch cocktail that incorporated Sotol, which is kind of like tequila but instead of fermenting agave, it ferments Dasylirion and is made only in Chihuahua. Then she recommended a cocktail that leverages a Mexican produced corn liquor in a Negroni but with gin subbed with mezcal. Both of these cocktails are bartenders choice and not on the menu, but the fact that they can execute such innovative cocktails so we'll speaks to the level of dedication bartenders at this bar have. Renee even gave pointers as to where I might be able to buy some of the bottles they use and for a few other bars of similar caliber to visit nearby. As soon as you enter you can see the artwork all over the walls. Which consists of concert posters, stickers, graffiti art, people's writings, etc. The time I came here they had a corner reserved for the band and in the front there were no chairs, so if you wanted to see the band you'd have to be standing up, which is optimal for this type of thing. When you make your way back to the bar area, you can see the menu is VERY simple, no fancy drinks on sight. They even give you your drink in a red solo cup (so rock and roll) If you're a girl reading this, avoid the restroom unless it's an absolute emergency. There is no privacy and no toilet paper. I'm curious to see how it is without a band playing, will definitive have to make another trip back.
