Hendricks Bar20

Whether you're visiting it as your final destination, or are just popping in for a quick cocktail before or after dinner at Mision 19, Bar 20 is a rad little spot. Located on the third floor of the Via Corporativo tower, this ultra-sleek, contemporary space could easily be mistaken for a joint in Miami or Vegas. Lots of concrete and smooth surfaces, and a beautiful panorama of the city. The place was mostly dead when our big group arrived at ~6pm on Saturday evening. We gathered around the fire pit on the outdoor patio (although the fire was turned off). The server was quick to take our drink orders. I opted for the "Hendricks Bar20" (Hendricks gin, cucumber, kumquats). It was refreshing but quite weak. Other popular options were the Pepino Misionero (vodka, cucumber, mint, lemon, chia seeds) and the layered sangria. The website says bar snacks are available for purchase but I saw no evidence of that while we were there. Maybe the kitchen was closed that day? In any case, Bar 20 is lovely and extremely comfortable, and a very easy place to while away an hour or two....or perhaps an entire afternoon. Rumor has it that Bar 20 turns into a raucous club after a certain hour. When we left Via Corporativo after our Mision 19 dinner (circa 11pm), I could hear some serious ooontzoooontzoooontz music emanating from overhead.

One of the signature craft cocktail. A little too sweet

When a random taco trip to Tijuana leads us to find this hidden gym. The place is really nice located in the 3rd floor of a nice business building. The drinks are well made but a little sweet for my taste. But pretty good for cart cocktails. A must if you are in the area

Delicious appetizers!!! Deliciosos aperitivos!!! Tostaditas de atun, sliders, y hot dog con tocino... Super Rico!!!

This is a classy speakeasy style bar hidden in the Oryx restaurant. The vibe is classic speakeasy,…read morehigh style but comfortable for sure. The cocktail menu is interesting and full of lots of delicious options. My cocktail was made to perfection and our service was on point. We came in late one night so there was plenty of seating, but typically it's reservation only, so be sure and make a Resy if you want to make sure you can get in. Tijuana is full of hidden gems like this and Nortico is a welcome addition. Get off Revolution and check this spot out!

Small, intimate, comfortable speakeasy with extremely friendly staff. Renee was brilliant! She…read moretaught me about all the different spirits that Mexico manufactures (other than the well known spirits of Tequila and Mezcal) and knew how to showcase the unique spirits of Mexico with cocktails that really leverage these spirits. She recommended a milk punch cocktail that incorporated Sotol, which is kind of like tequila but instead of fermenting agave, it ferments Dasylirion and is made only in Chihuahua. Then she recommended a cocktail that leverages a Mexican produced corn liquor in a Negroni but with gin subbed with mezcal. Both of these cocktails are bartenders choice and not on the menu, but the fact that they can execute such innovative cocktails so we'll speaks to the level of dedication bartenders at this bar have. Renee even gave pointers as to where I might be able to buy some of the bottles they use and for a few other bars of similar caliber to visit nearby. Instead of ending my trip at Nortico as previously planned, she helped me find a really cool new bar in Tijuana! Highly recommend.
