We absolutely love coming to the TJ lounge at the airport. We first started when using CBX about 5 years ago. Now we actually drive into TJ and get to use the private security entrance - GAME CHANGER!!! Better price and experience. This visit was a super early morning like 6 am so we didn't get any food. There were limited servers and they were so busy so we didn't get any help until we were about to go, and I ordered a cappuccino. Was delish as always. It used to be not very busy every time we went, now its always so busy but the lounge is huge and has so much great seating. The food and drinks are awesome and so are the servers. They bring it all to you. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked. They also have showers, we have requested use one time and it was very nice. The private security is great, they are friendly and do a great check on belongings. We have several lounges that we visited year round and I have to say this is one of the best ones! read more

I only fly out of Tijuana airport in the morning, so at that time this Lounge has been fairly clean and easy to access for me. They don't post their menu, but the servers will let you know what hot items they have for breakfast (like molletes). You can also asked for fried eggs. They usually have one bar open and some self-serve snacks. IMO this lounge is big. I usually only see 1-2 servers and another person by the bar, so it gets hard to flag someone down as it gets crowded. I always tip here because the staff are speedy and get you extra water, refills etc. This is way better than the Aspire lounge in San DIego - that lounge gets a 1 star. TJ lounge is more like 3.5. I'd rate it higher, but later in the morn there are usually too many large groups, crying children and people taking up space sleeping across multiple seats. WiFi is strong! read more

They are so under staffed, which takes forever to find a server to take order and for the order to come. This is not a true lounge as much as different place to sit with no service. There are 2 servers, and they serve a table every 20-30 minutes. Unless you're planning on spending the full 3 hours it is unlikely you will receive any food or drink. There is no self service, or bartender so you can't even get a soda. read more

This is my second time at this lounge It has extremely clean bathrooms with dedicated cleaning staff Check in easy You can order coffee at the counter and there's a self serve fruit and toast and cereal Or you can grab a table and there are a few food options, which are just fine . I usually get the chili kilos and then I can order scrambled eggs with ham because it comes with a side of beans. I like the beans. The last visit I did not drink because I was here with17 year-old kids for their spring break. Today I am on my own so having a couple of 8 AM Palomas.! They can make you a coffee almost anyway you like unless you like eccentric Starbucks stuff. I've had leane cappuccinos here and they're great. I've been in better lounges. I've been worst lounges and I'm very happy here. It's definitely better than the one at the San Diego airport. read more

I have been using this lounge for the past 3 years (free acess with AMEX Platinum) flying in Mexico and it's a good lounge but not great. The only great thing about it is the quality of service provided by the servers, but this only happens when it's not busy. Of course when it's busy you will not receive the same level of service but still good. Everyone is always friendly and makes sure to offer you drinks and food as soon as you sit. We always leave tip. The reason I say it's good and not great is mostly for the size of it. It is not very big. Although they have two bars, I've only seen both used at the same time once. All other times I have only seen one being used at a time. The bathrooms are clean, there is a shower and a play area for kids. Food is a hit and miss but usually they serve sandwhiches, chilaquiles, carne en salsa, beans, rice, etc. The micheladas are really good! They do offer a salad bar or breakfast bar. All in all it's good but there are better priority pass lounges. I don't know if its worth paying $35/visit for those that don't have the pass but certainly try it at least once if you have a long wait time (they only allow you to use it 3 hours before your flight leaves). read more

Its a comfortable enough lounge and pretty much the only one in the TJ Airport so there's not much to complain about. Wifi has always been strong and bathrooms clean. The bathrooms even have a shower which could come in clutch. There are 2 bars, but only 1 has ever been open during my visits. You can order food and drinks here, but you need to get creative in asking what hot foods they have because it's not immediately noticeable. Early mornings, the coffee drinks are always a solid. They even serve alcohol in the morning... The michelada (which I did not have in the morning, but afternoon), was super enjoyable. Some self-serve cold foods on the side of the bar, but the pickings have been a miss for me. Again, you can order hot foods and if you can figure out what they have, they have someone serve it directly to you at your seat. It has never been busy when I've gone, but as it is the only lounge, I am sure it is sought after. read more

A little different than the other priority pass lounges I've been to but in a good way! I stopped in before my early am flight. I walked in to find a seat and found myself followed by a server. The server asked what I wanted to drink and eat. I had to ask what the options were so it would be nice if the selection is posted somewhere. Our traveling groups' first time at VIP Lounge in Tijuana airport. We figured let's give all the lounges a trial run for a year, see what each has to offer since on an average trip, $10- $40 is being spent at the airport on food and drinks alone. I was excited to see TJ's VIP lounge. I wasn't sure what to expect since my experience in Vallarta last year was unfavorable. My friend invited me to Vallarta's VIP lounge, very minimal food (cookies and crackers don't count), no space, close quarters, packed and very poor service. I remember seeing 4-5 "cooks" in the kitchen making sandwiches but only 1 person posted at the so-called food area. What Vallarta's lounge did have was plenty of beverages. The entire upstairs and downstairs was packed, including the bar. Lots of standing around against the walls and not enough chairs to sit on. Back to TJ lounge... As we walked past the elevator doors that lead into the TJ's VIP lounge, I was immediately impressed. Huge amounts of lounging area everywhere, lots of space between each lounging section and roomy aisles everywhere. The lounge looked modern with contemporary furnishings and decor. Not much of wall decor but aesthetically, bare wall was ok. Liked: lounge is on second level, mass amount of chairs, variety of lounge areas, televisions everywhere and large windows able to see giant flight monitor. Chilaquiles was delicious! The sauce had a special taste, different from others. Can't place it. Disliked: not made aware that salad bar was available and that no server should ever show an annoyed facial expression when VIP member request for more food items. WORST SERVICE of any airport lounge we have been to. The lounge is clean and the check in process is similar to other airport lounge we have been to throughout the world. But they do not leave the food out or have a buffet area like other lounges. Apparently the servers bring out the food to the tables. We flagged down a couple of servers twice to order food. They kept on telling to wait a moment, after 45 minutes and still no food served we left and went to the nearby food court to grab a bite before boarding. Get 'em out so we don't have to smell, see, or hear them seems to be the guiding principle. Lounges used to value revenue over rules. 3 years later this lounge has been updated and it's bigger now, but quality has decreased for sure. There's barely any food and the food they have is whatever they had salad with garbanzo beans and they weren't even cooked and sandwiches with pork only. The second time I went there, they didn't have any food really only hot drinks. Pleasantly surprised by this lounge. Easy access from the gates. Not crowded. Comfortable seats and couches. Very clean. Very basic food and drink selection but fine for a short visit. If you have access to this lounge, I highly recommend it. Full staff available with small buffet available (eggs and refried beans, rice etc...). Coffee/tea & alcoholic beverages on site. They have very clean restrooms and showers. They have a nice kids area where they can play and enjoy each others company. Definitely will be coming back to lounge before my flight. read more

Lots of seating options, limited charging spots though and no self serve. We've been here for 10 minutes and still waiting for our order to be taken (we literally just want water) and there are only a few guys taking orders. The guys at the bar wouldn't help us. But otherwise the staff is super friendly, they have lots of purse/coat racks, and have a security (luggage check) that feeds right into the lounge (we're just not sure where from since we did the entire border cross trek. ) Update: the food was great! We had to literally scarf it down though because of the limited time and having to wait first for a server and then our order. No self service, you need to order through a server, but service was pretty good when we were here. They had 4 food options in the morning: (1) eggs, ham and beans, (2) chilaquiles - really good red sauce; (3) ham & cheese sandwich; and (4) tuna sandwich. Well, for $35 pp one would think there might be clean tables, a welcoming service person behind the bar, a menu? We went to the very small, sparse bar displaying just cut melon and cookies and the gal there (12/4 at 10:40 AM,) just looked at us. I said, (in Spanish,) , "Excuse me, but I see you have peanuts and maybe other offerings, but our table is dirty... Long pause. She stared at me silently. I asked if they had a menu or? She said, "No menu." I said that I saw (from the dirty dishes on our table,) they have peanuts. She stared at me. I asked, "Well, ... Do you have peanuts?" (noticing there was a small plate of them beside her.) She handed me the little dish of peanuts.... without a word. Then a gentleman server came and they spoke to each other, ignoring us... I asked if there is a menu. "No menu," she answered." By this time it was as if I was playing "twenty questions!" My companion asked, "So how do we order something to eat?" Yay, she answered! And with a smile! "He will come to your table. Bienvenidos!" Weird!! The gentleman eventually offered to serve us, asking for our order at our table and he was nice. "Well... what is available?" Great lounge with ample seating space. Caught a 9:30AM flight out of Tijuana so got to the lounge by 7am for the early morning crowd. There is a coffee bar with a self-serve buffet section with fruit, yogurt, eggs, beans, pastries. You can also get made to order food through a waiter. We ordered mimosas, coffee, fruit parfait, quesadillas, chilaquiles and it was out in no time. Perfect send off for our trip! For business travelers, they even have a conference room available and steamer on-site. Highly recommend if you have time, also don't forget to tip the staff! read more

Only drawback is not having a self-serve bar. This place really fills up and it gets quite difficult to order drinks and food once the crowd rolls in, since they seemed to only have a couple guys working the bar area and serving up food and drinks. So if you get in early and avoid the crowd, be sure to get your orders in quick. Otherwise, really friendly staff and a great way to start a trip or relax. (My pet peeve is when sandwiches have condiments already on there!) why.. not everyone likes mayo or mustard..... They sometimes have hot food, tonight they had chicken teriyaki and rice which was very decent. The alcohol is where it's at here... unlimited bar but you have to get served. Decent selections of spirits! They make you bloody Mary's, micheladas, tequila shots. Welcome to your TJ executive lounge.. along with that comes with people who feel they are "entitled" so be ready to have encounters with travelers that do not know what personal space is or will cut in front of you when ordering from the service bar.
