Ribs! Now serving BOMB BBQ on Thursdays and Saturdays!
Missy B.

It's been several years since my first review of my FAVORITE bar, so I figured it was time for an update! I'm still eating the bacon cheeseburger, but my absolute FAVE dish is the Peggy Tacos! Crispy corn tortilla taco shell, filled with ground beef, lettuce, cheese, onions, and tomatoes. Just like your white momma makes 'em! hahaha! Well, mine made them like this anyways. Even though they aren't the most authentic taco you can get in Mex, they are really freaking good and definitely worth an order! And speaking of tasty dishes, they are now partnering with a new biz in town and offering smoked BBQ on Thursdays and Saturdays! So far, I've tried the sausage sandwich, the quarter chicken, and the ribs. The ribs are BOOOMMMBBBBBB!! By far my fave, though everything else is definitely good! They use a dry rub and since they're smoked, the meat just falls off the bone.... I'm drooling already. And another major update! While they still do not accept Credit Cards, they WILL take Venmo or Paypal! Just let the bartender know and they'll get you taken care of! This is local, neighborhood sports bar at its finest. Next time you're across the border, stop in for some great food and a cold drink, and stay for the fun people you'll meet!

My most favorite little sports bar in all of Baja. Great spot for burgers and cold beer. They also have some of the best pizza I've ever had!

This is the best bar with the best people. Everyone is super friendly. It's like a family. The food is amazing and the drinks are the right price!!

My favorite place to grab a drink south of the border. Good burgers too and if you're there on a Wednesday, order the pork chop special with mashed potatoes. Delicious!

Plan B is perfectly named, as it is and should be your plan b if you are looking for food. I'm not dissing the bar, or even the food, but the food across the highway is far better. Patty melt: It was okay, but not really "good". The bread didn't have the correct grilled crunch, and was more like toast. The "onion" rings that came with it were all the exact same size and held no onion inside. They were fried batter rings perhaps flavored with onion powder. Not good, not even with ketchup. BLT: If you go consider getting this. Just your classic BLT and well executed. The fries were pretty good too. Nachos: Edible but forgettable, and not worth a to go container. Burger: Not bad as far as burgers go, but too much bun to burger ratio. Way too much bread. If you are hungry and want one of those bloody marys. Consider Plan B, but just don't expect to think "wow, this is way better than Denny's." I will say though that this is all north of the border style food, so if you're tired of Mexican and want something familiar this might just be your place.

Tasty ceviche tostadas and a really good draft beer.

A small sports bar just off the San Antonio exit; they have a few tables inside and some more on the patio outside (directions: exit San Antonio, head east, make the first left onto Marlin, and it is immediately on your right in the Oxxo shopping center). Went here multiple times; Cool bartenders, servers, and patrons. They had a couple of draft beers on tap; whatever the darker colored one was, it was quite tasty. I had two ceviche tostadas which I enjoyed, and which were loaded up to be quite filling (at $2.50 per tostada, it can't be beat). My friends all ordered the bombero burger, which they raved about.... of course, they were warned that given its two types of chilis, the bombero burns twice: once going in, and once going out. :) ---- Regarding directions: if one clicks on Yelp's "Get Directions" it gives accurate directions to Plan B; but, for some reason unknown to me, if one copies and pastes the address that Yelp shows into Google Maps a very wrong location will come up. That said, if you want to cache/save the location in your GMaps before heading to Mexico, I'd suggest putting into GMaps the coordinates of 32.423831, -117.095186 and then starring/saving it (this should give the accurate location, which is just next to the Oxxo shopping mart on Marlin Street just off the San Antonio exit).

Plan B is everything you need it to be. The food is decent, the drinks are amazing, the crowd is friendly and the TV's are always worth watching. This bar is pretty much an Expat bar, and as an Expat, I love it. They always have games, fights, golf on the TV, always a bonus down south since we hardly have to give a shit about anything else Let me tell you what, Javier, the bartender can make the best damn Bloody Mary other than myself. It takes time and it's done right. Their breakfast is savage and just what you want every time. Soaks up last nights bad ideas well! Burgers fill the belly, their nachos are ballpark style with mexico flair. They have a massive menu of burgers and other bar/American/Mexican food, it's great for truly any occasion. Also nestled next to a taco shop, cafe, Oxxo, carnicería. This little strip mall has it all.

I'm back in Rosarito and environs after a 6+ year absence and visited Betty's for the first time…read morewith my cousin on September 27, 2023. You may wonder why I would visit an American-themed restaurant in Mexico. Since I was here last, Rosarito has embraced a more eclectic approach to restaurants, so why not? Besides, my cousin--who lives in Rosarito--said Betty's was a must, so there you go. It usually takes me only one visit--one bite, actually--to sum up a place and their cuisine. That may sound snobbish; well, yes, it is. Those who have followed me on Yelp over the past years know my credentials, so suffice it to say that I know food in and out and love everything from the most humble street food to haute cuisine. But before I took a bite of the food, what set this place in my stellar region were the owner and chef: Dante (front of the house) and his wife Stephanie (chef--and yes, I use the term chef as she's no mere burger-flipper). Dante went to great pains to explain how they source their ingredients and that many of them are made in-house--getting rarer every day, unfortunately. The exterior and interior would win no House Beautiful contest, but with food like this, who cares? My cousin and I got the Deli Burger with pastrami that actually would stand on its own. The beef was cooked spot-on with the accompanying ingredients bringing it together into a perfect whole. We got fries and onion rings; both were way above average and with a knock-your-socks-off horseradish sauce to dunk them in, I couldn't have been happier. But what truly sets Betty's apart is they sincerely care about their food and their customers. Let me repeat that--THEY CARE! Many restaurants have lost that but not here. So, if you come to Rosarito and don't stop by Betty's, your trip just won't be complete. And you don't have to take just my word for it--from the multitude of five-star reviews, it's obvious many, many others feel the same way.
