We came here with some friends that recommended it as one of the better bars with food in TJ. I…read morereally like the hazy ipa (shocker I know) that they make here. The rest of the bar type food (pizza, wings, & fries) hit the spot. We came on a Monday afternoon (memorial day for us U.S folks) so it wasn't busy at all but the restaurant has a lot of seating areas/sections so it's a pretty big place. Different little themes in each area which was pretty cool.

During one of our previous walking foodie tours in Tijuana, Mamut Cervecería was the initial stop…read moreinstead of a street taco joint. Apparently, Mamut has multiple establishments in town, but this Zona Centro location was the main hub. The upstairs was very spacious with plenty of community tables. I was impressed with how quickly the staffed cleared off and cleaned the tables after they were vacated. We sat down and ordered a carne frias (i.e. meat lovers) pizza and the carne asada nachos to split between the group. The food was nothing special for bar fare, but my expectations weren't high when the total equivalent US price was approximately $12. It was helpful to learn from other customers that the line to the left side of the bar was designated to order food only. I didn't drink any of the beer, but my friends who did imbibe seemed to enjoy the brews for such a low price.

This is a classy speakeasy style bar hidden in the Oryx restaurant. The vibe is classic speakeasy,…read morehigh style but comfortable for sure. The cocktail menu is interesting and full of lots of delicious options. My cocktail was made to perfection and our service was on point. We came in late one night so there was plenty of seating, but typically it's reservation only, so be sure and make a Resy if you want to make sure you can get in. Tijuana is full of hidden gems like this and Nortico is a welcome addition. Get off Revolution and check this spot out!

Small, intimate, comfortable speakeasy with extremely friendly staff. Renee was brilliant! She…read moretaught me about all the different spirits that Mexico manufactures (other than the well known spirits of Tequila and Mezcal) and knew how to showcase the unique spirits of Mexico with cocktails that really leverage these spirits. She recommended a milk punch cocktail that incorporated Sotol, which is kind of like tequila but instead of fermenting agave, it ferments Dasylirion and is made only in Chihuahua. Then she recommended a cocktail that leverages a Mexican produced corn liquor in a Negroni but with gin subbed with mezcal. Both of these cocktails are bartenders choice and not on the menu, but the fact that they can execute such innovative cocktails so we'll speaks to the level of dedication bartenders at this bar have. Renee even gave pointers as to where I might be able to buy some of the bottles they use and for a few other bars of similar caliber to visit nearby. Instead of ending my trip at Nortico as previously planned, she helped me find a really cool new bar in Tijuana! Highly recommend.
