"Cheerleaders" and spectators will enjoy the nice bleachers with back support. Although foul balls are unpredictable, the stands do provide some coverage from unsuspecting "wizzer" foul balls sailing from one field to another (where you may be sitting). More importantly, there's protection from the sun! Playgrounds are available for the siblings who want to do something besides watching ball. Concession stands are reasonably priced and food doesn't suck. Bathrooms are always clean and stocked.

Don't expect to come out here in Liberty Hill and have your car pristine. This isn't the only place in town that is not paved so you'll get over that pretty quick. They have a batting cage with multiple cages. I haven't been here on a game day but the cages are almost always available. It looks like sometimes coaches leave a tee for others to use. Sometimes there's a plate left in the batting cages that you could use for a point of reference. You'll often see families working on their game here, depending on the time that you show up you may see me here helping my kids work on their game. For Liberty Hill this is a great field I use it almost all of the time because of the accessibility.

This season exposed a culture within the league that is driven more by politics, control, favoritism, and ego than player development, positivity, and growth. As someone who has coached for years and truly pours time, energy, and passion into developing young athletes, it was honestly disappointing to see how much unnecessary negativity comes from the executive board itself. Instead of supporting coaches who are trying to grow the game and build up these kids, it often felt like the executive board created many of the problems throughout the season. There was constant inconsistency, unnecessary obstacles, poor communication, and decisions that felt more personal than productive. Rather than working with coaches for the betterment of the players, it felt like certain teams were targeted simply for being successful, competitive, and organized. I now completely understand why so many teams, players, coaches, and families are leaving this league to join other organizations. Good coaches and competitive teams should be valued because they help raise the level of development across the league. Instead, it feels like winning teams are looked at as a problem instead of something that pushes everyone to improve. The leadership within the league, especially at the executive level, has been one of the biggest issues this season. The Vice President has shown repeated signs of being hot-headed, emotional, and unable to handle conflict professionally. A youth league should be run with fairness, communication, leadership, and maturity -- not emotion and personal frustration. When leadership reacts emotionally instead of professionally, it creates tension throughout the entire league and directly affects the experience for coaches, parents, and ultimately the kids. At the 6U level, this should never happen. These are young kids learning the fundamentals of baseball and teamwork. This age should be about encouragement, confidence, development, sportsmanship, and creating a love for the game. Instead, the environment created by league leadership made what should have been a fun and positive experience far more stressful and political than youth baseball has any business being. The saddest part is that the kids are the ones who ultimately suffer from it. Despite all of the outside noise, our boys continued to work hard, improve, support one another, and grow tremendously throughout the season. They showed resilience and heart every single week. Their development came because of the effort put in by dedicated coaches, parents, and players -- not because of the environment created by the executive board. There are good people involved in the league, but the overall leadership culture desperately needs to change. A youth league should never feel like coaches and families are constantly battling the people running it. The executive board should be focused on supporting the kids, supporting development, improving the league, and helping coaches succeed -- not creating division, drama, and unnecessary conflict. Liberty Hill Youth League has the potential to be a great small-town baseball league, but until leadership puts the kids first and removes the politics and ego from youth sports, the league will continue pushing away good coaches, good families, and opportunities for real player growth. The kids deserved far better than what this season gave them.

The staff doesn't really help when there are issues. The pitching machines also don't work properly. One pitch goes way up, the next one goes straight, and the dashboard where you're supposed to adjust the height doesn't seem to work. This happens almost every time we visit. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because it's an indoor facility, so at least there is a place to practice when the weather is bad.

Upon walking in, I was greeted by a nice woman who explained the recreation center to me. There are 2 swimming pools, one inside and one outside. They actually have water aerobics here! There's a walking track upstairs so there's a place to go when the weather outside is too hot too windy or too rainy to walk. They have a beautiful gym with a lot of equipment. They have a book share shelf. You can take a book or leave a book or both! They have lots of exercise classes and dance classes, including country and ballroom. They have yoga and more. This center is not just for young people or old people or children or men or women, it's for everybody! I saw so many different types of people, it was just a wonderful place to be. Everyone was so kind and the energy was so upbeat. As of the day that I am writing this review, the price is $30 a month. They do have programs for older people called Silver Sneakers, so even the old people can stay in shape! This is not a place to bring your dog. There are too many good things to say about this place. After 5 months in class, she hadn't learned anything new, so I taught her how to do a cartwheel in our living room in 15 mins. That's when I knew I had to do better by my daughter. The younger program is GREAT if you just want to wear your child down, but my girl was very disappointed she wasn't learning anything. We love the kids night outs and camps, but as far as actual gymnastics for 4-5 yr olds, meh.

More than anything, the coaches make soccer FUN! My son always has a smile on his face, gives his best effort, and is excited to come back. They keep the younger kids engaged, focused, and hold them to a high standard; but they do so while keeping it fun. Compared to my son's club practices and other training sessions, nobody keeps him as engaged and in love with playing as 1A does. I think the technical trainings are fantastic and have seen his skills improve with each session. 1 hour spent at 1A gives him THOUSANDS of quality touches, reps, and skills he can take back to the field. An hour here is better than 2 weeks of training with his club. He absolutely loves the winter, spring break, and summer half-day camps and it is his top choice whenever we ask him what camps he wants to do. The facility is great as well, with a nice lounge area where parents can work or watch their kids. It's indoors, which is a huge plus... never any cancellations due to weather and a great way to continuing training, even during the brutally hot summer months.
