They have some very professional obstacles. The people running it did a great job working with the kids, showing them how to complete each obstacle, as well as the adults who participated. It wasn't really my thing, but everyone who participated seemed to have a blast. They have some event rooms where we had cake and pizza for the birthday party. For you adults, there's also a brewery across the parking lot. (hint hint- drop the kids off, go have a beer!)

Fast forward to now, where there is a Ninja Warrior gym I'm the area where all the has been and wanna he's can go and learn, and practice, and grow. The head coach has been on the actual show more than 10 times and I'm proud to call him and his amazing partner friends, and he has built a business around something he is passionate about. He's been a gymnastics coach since we've been young and so he's someone who loves it, not just says it, not just does it. I've seen 2 competitions here so far, multiple birthday parties, and have seen the customer experiences take place first hand. It's incredible how people feel about how well it's organized, how much care goes into everything, and mom's and dad's can trust their kids to improve, spend energy, and in a safe environment that has that cool #spiderman flare to it. There is sufficient parking, occasional good trucks, it's located right off I35, and neighboring a brewery... What more can most people ask than to have a beer and good food in the hot Texas sun while their kids run around and play next door with other kids who aren't even missing their phones or their video games! #ianofaustin approved, excellent local business for fitness activities for children and adults

As a new…read moremember of Lifetime Fitness (South Lamar is extraordinary) at age 64, I made a commitment to elevate my fitness before turning 65 and for the rest of my life. With a background in nutrition, I understand how critical it is to maintain lean muscle mass and bone density as we age to support long-term health and mobility. Diego, with more than 30 years of experience, has been the ideal professional to guide me on this journey. His approach goes far beyond physical training--he emphasizes total transformation, integrating both body and mindset. He instills accountability and consistency while fostering confidence and personal growth in a way that feels both structured and sustainable. In just two months of working together, I have already seen and felt a significant difference. I am stronger, more energized, and continue to improve each day. Diego's depth of knowledge and ability to tailor each session to my age, physical condition, and goals have been invaluable. His training style is thoughtful, individualized, and highly effective. What stands out most is his genuine dedication to helping people of all ages achieve their full potential. He creates a supportive environment that builds confidence while pushing you to reach the next level. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, experienced, and deeply committed fitness professional to help you achieve meaningful results, Diego is an exceptional choice.

If a machine is being repaired, there's usually a second machine to use. It's not as clean as other gyms but that is not solely the gym's responsibility. The cleaning stations commonly need to be replenished but there's also nearly cleaning stations you can resort to. Plus you get extra steps, win? At times it may be too hot but I see the benefit of a heated gym- it's not always optimal during the summer. For the convenience and practicality of a gym, it meets the standards. Nothing fancy but nothing lacking. They could use a better range of fitness classes. The only classic ever see is Zumba and cycling. You can't beat the amenities for the price!

Be VERY cautious before signing up for personal training here…read more The initial "free session" was mostly a high-pressure sales process, which in hindsight should have been a red flag. Some aspects of the program also didn't match how they were presented during sign-up (things like guidance around goals, communication, and support outside of sessions). I do want to say that my trainer herself was kind and genuinely good during the sessions I had with her. I don't think the issue is the individual trainers as much as the structure of the program. That said, I did run into a couple of scheduling issues where I showed up for confirmed appointments that had been reassigned, and communication overall was inconsistent. I also would have appreciated more proactive follow-up--I needed to cancel my last session in December, life has been crazy, it's now Mid April and I never heard from anyone again--though I acknowledge I could have reached out as well. *****The biggest issue, however, has been the cancellation process.***** The contract requires written notice through a specific support email, and in practice, that process has been slow and difficult to navigate. It took multiple attempts to get clear direction, and communication was limited to being routed back to the same support channel without meaningful follow-through. Based on my experience and similar complaints from other customers, this appears to be a pattern. This creates a situation where it's easy to sign up, but MUCH harder than expected to cancel. I would strongly encourage anyone considering signing up to carefully review the cancellation terms and be prepared for a potentially frustrating process if you decide to end the program.

I've been a member at this location for two years, and what happened on Sunday, December 7th has…read moreconvinced me to cancel my membership. I started my morning as usual -- a workout followed by time in the steam room. While walking from the bathroom area, I accidentally placed my jacket on a chair without realizing it was near someone else's belongings. The individual began shouting profanity at me from across the pool/hot tub area. I immediately apologized multiple times, but the yelling only escalated. Thinking he might not have heard my apology clearly, I walked closer to make myself understood. Instead, he moved toward me with his hands up in a fighting stance, even though I was apologizing repeatedly. Feeling unsafe, I backed away to the locker room and called my wife so we could leave immediately. At the front desk, things escalated again. The same individual followed me, caused a loud scene, and then walked toward both me and my wife with his hands still raised as if preparing to fight while shouting at us. This was extremely frightening. The staff stepped up to the counter, but no one said anything or intervened, which made the situation feel completely uncontained. What concerns me most is that management has not contacted me at all about this incident, despite how serious and disturbing it was. Over the past year, I've also noticed an increasing number of individuals who appear to be using this facility as a place to linger rather than to work out. This location seems to be struggling with how to manage that, and it has led to multiple uncomfortable or unsafe encounters -- including this one. What makes this even more disappointing is that I had a very similar experience at another 24 Hour Fitness location in Austin last year. Between both incidents, it feels like member safety and conflict management are not being handled consistently across their facilities. Between this incident, the declining cleanliness (including mold upstairs), and the overall drop in atmosphere, it's disappointing to see how far this gym has gone downhill. This used to be a peaceful place for me to work out, pray, and meditate -- but I no longer feel safe returning.

I received a guest pass for a cycle workout from my Yelp friend Airon Andrews…read more I was impressed with the gym. There are so many amenities...snack shop, free towels, hydro massage chairs, Normatek compression boots, cold therapy chairs, pool, and real massages. The cycle class by dynamic instructor David Garza was quite a workout! It was only 30 minutes long but energy packed! I was familiar with the Soul Cycle type classes, which include push-ups while cycling. But this class introduced dance style moves, such as swaying hips. It was a real dance party! I was exhausted but feeling great afterwards. We partook of the Normatek compression boots, which were good therapy for my recently injured knee. The hydro massage chairs were taken, so we skipped that. All in all, this high end gym was a great experience. I would join, except my insurance does not cover the gym because it is considered "premium."

This time it was lifetime who booked me for 60 min when I wanted 30 min. I'm so over the spa here / they never have an esthetician available and charge $95 for a 30 min massage which is expensive by any means and the front desk manager is a bitch!

The gym is 'ok', you can see the other reviews for the pros and cons…read more What I find frustrating is to pay $200+ a month for a membership and then get a parking ticket for parking in the gym parking lot while doing a workout! You would think rather than using a third party and sending tickets in the mail, they would work directly with their customers. I guess the issue here is that after doing a workout I got a snack from a local business and then returned to my car. If this is a violation of my contract, fine, come talk to me, but having a third party send a bill in the mail threatening me with collections is passive aggressive and terrible customer service. Maybe they'll squeeze a couple extra bucks from people by doing this, but it seems like a classic example of "penny wise, pound foolish" since in the long run you'll just alienate your customers.

If you are in that parking garage over 2.5 hours you WILL get an $80.00 ticket in the mail with threats of sending it to collections if you do not pay within 30 days! And whatever time you hit the parking garage is your start time (photo is taken of your car)- not the time that they give you through the website when you register! SCAM! There are multiple other reviews here pointing out this insane and predatory company. I have contacted Equinox management to push them to do something about this. I will be moving to Lifetime South Lamar or Club Studio (that has a lap pool!) if they don't change something. They also need to: - Install lighting for the road coming into the parking lot. It's completely pitch black at night with people, cars and Waymo's all around. Someone is eventually going to get hurt. - Fix the AC! It crazy to be working out in the heat. - Rethink the equipment they have moved around. If you are on a machine you are now eyeball to eyeball with someone across from you. It is very uncomfortable. And easily fixed. - Fix random issues in the locker room that have been reported. It's like there is no maintaince manager like there used to be. The fees keep going up (an extra $17 a month this year) and the experience keeps getting WORSE. This is a call to Equinox management to focus on your members again and get some of these long running issues dealt with! Otherwise there is going to be a mass exodus when your competition opens up here very shortly.
