I am a frequent Thundercloud customer for the location in Round Rock, however my mother was close to this location and decided to stop by this one instead. She gives me my salad and the first thing I notice... probably a tablespoon of cheese on my salad and no cheese on my mother's salad even though we had asked for extra cheese on my salad and none on hers. Next, the salad was basically just a head of lettuce. Barely any olives which we paid extra for and the only thing that I could taste was lettuce and red cabbage. The location was out of croutons and overall provided terrible quality food. We'll stick to the Round Rock location next time. read more

Usually good but today there was a guy with black hair in a grey shirt working that gave the most annoying experience. Messed up one of our sandwiches, didn't ask for thunder sauce, and sandwich was not cut all the way. Sandwich was okay. Pay attention to what you're doing instead of bossing your coworkers around (and making customers uncomfortable) and maybe you'll get a tip. read more

We've lived in Gtown since 1997 but missed our Austin ThunderCloud over on Burnet Road as well as others throughout Austin. So when TC decided to move to Gtown we were more than excited. But for some reason we simply have never had a chance to make it to the Gtown TC until today -- and what a disappointment. We are used to the TC "entertainment" that accompanies the TC staff -- yet none of that exists in the Gtown TC. Very little staff banter, really none of the TC Subs ambiance. Could be due to sleepy Gtown. So we ordered our food. The Classic was fine, but the Egg Salad sub was ---- invisible. When we ordered an egg salad in our Austin TC we have always been greeted with an abundantly filled sub. Today my wife had to actually ask the staffer behind the counter if he had put any egg salad on the sandwich yet, and he said "yes". What the Gtown TC is putting on the sandwich barely covered the bread, so an extra $1.29 of egg salad was requested. Overall impression -- the Gtown Thundercloud Subs is a shadow of the real Austin Thundercloud Subs. Perhaps the owner can figure out a way to fix this. read more

I love thundercloud subs, but this location is way subpar. Staff is rude. Veggie sandwich with vegetables cut so small you almost can't see them. I was excited to have an Austin favorite move into our small town. From now on, I'll go somewhere else or drive to Austin for my sub fix. read more

Heyyoo!! This Thundercloud is the BOMB! I work across the street at Razmataz Salon and thundercloud is definitely convenient for lunch. BUT despite being a sandwich lover, if it wasn't for the totally awesome staff, I probably wouldn't go there on account of being a little burned out. I mean, one can only eat so many sandwiches before they crave something else. HOWEVER, in rare cases you come across a place that has such an awesome staff that you don't even care if your tired of the food. Every time I go in there I am greeted with a smile and they always ask me how I'm feeling (on account of I'm 6 mos pregnant) A little hint, ask them how their day is going too... They don't bite! OH RIGHT the food! The food is good! Fresher than Subway that's for sure! I like the Austin club (no avocado) with a little Thunder Sauce (Oil, Vinegar & Paprika) and for my hot subs I like the meatball sub! They also have great soups although their Broccoli Cheese is a little on the watery side so I don't prefer that one. But great salads and they make really yummy smoothies!! Stopped in when I was dropping my son off at college. Bread was fresh. Meats sliced fresh. Toppings crisp and tasty. I added potato salad to my sandwich. It was the mayo type (I prefer mustard based), but it was well seasoned. Also, as an added bonus, they have really good coupons, so broke college students can buy one get one free. Not sure how it can get better than that. read more

I'm a big fan of Thundercloud and have been for years. From San Antonio to Cedar Park they have always been consistent in quality and quantity. Today I got a sandwich at the Georgetown location. My standard is chicken salad. In every other location the chicken salad is generously applied in dollops. For today's sandwich it was spread thin like creamy peanut butter. This had the effect of a huge bread sandwich with very little else. I look forward to a corrective experience at another location, not in Georgetown. read more

I'll give it 2 stars just because of the finely shredded onions and lettuce.. Other than that the bread was almost equivalent to a jumbo hot dog bun.. Much rather have subway than thundercloud.. Don't believe the hype.. They charge for sliced peppers to be added.. Like come on that's normally on the options list.. I honestly will not be coming back to thundercloud anytime soon. I really like the sandwiches here, but I only come here because it's close by and conveniently located. I've been coming here for a few years and I've never really had great customer service. Staff always seem irritated and rushed and usually rude, and I've even been interrupted by someone making my sandwich before because he said he wasn't ready for me to tell him what I wanted on it yet. Almost everytime I've come in they didn't rally acknowledge me and it takes a while just to pick up an order. Salads are good but the lettuce is NEVER cut small enough to eat in one bite. Might seem not-picky but it happens every time I order a salad and seems like something that shouldn't be very hard to do. read more

So, I just reviewed the Pflugerville location, and I thought I'd give the TS one more chance with the Georgetown location, thinking that the Pflugerville one was just terrible in general. I ordered the same thing, Austin club with a bunch of veggies on top, told the guy making my sandwich WORD by WORD EXACTLY what I wanted on my sandwich, and somehow in the end, even being in PERSON and NOT in a drivethru, they STILL managed to mess it up! I spoke slowly and articulated what I wanted and the guy STILL forgot the tomatoes, olives, mushrooms, thunder sauce, and lettuce. How hard is it to PAY ATTENTION and GET IT RIGHT? 11 dollars is a waste of money for a sandwich that ends up tasting disgusting and feeling empty at the end. The workers were also shifty-eyed and giving me weird sideways glances. I felt really uncomfortable there. I will NOT be returning to ANY Thundercloud location in the future. Two bad experiences in a row ruined it for me. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Eh...just ate lunch there again today. My go to sandwich is the meatball sub. This is the second time in a row that the meatballs were cold. This time it was warmer than last, but still not a hot sandwhich by any means. It also lacked having enough sauce. It was ok, but not all that good. They moved the lunch line reasonably fast and there was plenty of ice tea already made. The place was clean and the staff was reasonably friendly. I'll go back, but I will have to find a different sandwich. read more

Thundercloud Sub is a favorite of mine...although this is my first time at the Georgetown location it's much like the others in Austin. Agree with another reviewer about enjoying more egg salad on my sandwich but I'll know next time to ask for more. Also, the bread is a little thick for my liking....I think if you're like me, asking for the "sandwich artist" to take out some of the middle part of the bread would be a good idea!
