Dean replaced the circuit board on our garage door opener after a previous evaluation. It works great now, and was difficult enough to set up that I'm glad I called him. He also inspected my other doors and paired the vehicles with the new opener. Great company, and I've got Dean's number in my directory. read more

Had a LiftMaster installed in March of 2025 and now the door sensors are not working properly. I called to get service and they canceled twice and then didn't call me back to schedule again. One person called and said he didn't do the work and would have to charge me. My receipt says I have a 7 yr warranty on the parts. I had to call Precision to get someone here. He noticed that the sensors were not the correct ones (they used an aftermarket product) for the opener and that the original installer didn't supply new wiring for the sensors. What a rip off! Now I am paying almost $500 to correct their errors and lack of customer service. read more

We needed a new garage door. Got three quotes. (All the prices were very close btw) Vetted all the companies. Went with Thunder. Pandemic hits, everything slowed down, and we didnt want to spend the money till we had a better sense of work etc. They were like, we completely understand. Call us when you want to move forward. Well, we got our stimulus check and it looks like a new garage door. ;) Seriously, these guys put in a great door. They did everything well, they cleaned up after themselves, the door is super quiet, and insulated. Given that we had a 40 year old wooden door, it's so clear that the garage is much less hot than in previous summers. And it's attractive. So a garage door is not something I really get excited about. In fact, I delayed replacing this for 5 years. Now that it's done, I am so glad to have made the investment. These guys also rep a number of different lines, so I am sure they can meet your budget and design. read more

Thunder Garage Door & Lock - Garage Door Services Near Me - Vancouver, Washington

We have worked with Thunder several times across 2 residences for both locks and garage door work, and have had positive experiences each time. Most recently we were thankful when John was able to quickly get out to us to address a door damaged by a collision, quickly patching it up to a functional state. He and Lucas returned to replace the door along with a very nice side mount opener. We found their prices reasonable and we are very happy with the result! read more

We needed some Home Depot garage doors installed. Thunder staff were Very professional. Highly recommend their services.

I'm not surprised to see the excellent reviews for these guys! They were fast, kind and did beautiful work! I started my day grumpy and wasn't as kind as I usually am when they called saying they were 15 minutes away. Yet still, they showed up with a smile that radiated all the way through their eyes. By itself, this is special. They worked fast and did an excellent job. They took their time to make sure and show me what I got and how to use all the bells and whistles. They answered all my questions and had the same enthusiasm throughout our time together. I highly recommend starting with these guys. Look no further! read more

Very polite, great energy about him. He got to home and he was very professional and polite. Gave us a lot of confidence when he said he has seen worse and he can fix anything. He will have back up and good as new in a few short hours. Andre was awesome. I would recommend him to anyone. I would Welcome him into my home any day. Very trust worthy and very skilled. These guys do excellent work, AND THEY COME OUT TO YOUR HOUSE ON SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS (No problem for them, due to their religious faith)! Now we don't have to worry about our garage door for the life of our house. Even got additional discounts for military and paying with cash! The only issue I can think of was the initial difficulty of getting a written receipt for the cash I gave the serviceman, at the end of the work. He assured me that I would get a receipt emailed to me in 30 minutes (Which I did), but I don't give anyone cash, then let them leave my house without getting a signed receipt from them. These guys are 100% legit, so It might have just been a cultural issue. read more

John was polite and professional. While the broken key tip was removed the operation of the door lock was quite iffy. After he left I jerry rigged the lock and got it to working on my own. For the cost it should have been easily operational, which it was not. No repeat for this company! read more

Called Thunder cause we looked at their Yelp rating and our garage door wasn't working at the very "Last Minute"! YES, they are BEST in the PNW! The Owners were professional, friendly, polite, and AAA+ Service! They called and took me on earlier too, so I didn't have to waste my entire morning. Lucas was knowledgeable and very skilled in his profession too. He treated me like we were part of his family. I had very little room in my garage because of my "Muscle Car" that I didn't want to move and Lucas was extremely understanding and worked around it. He was patient and courteous too. I highly recommend "Thunder" for Garage Repairs. Please contact me personally if you want to know more. Much Mahalo to Thunder GDR ... read more

I was annoyed at first, because there was a mistake in the office in communicating the time slot I had reserved, and there was a lack of transparency with regard to all of the price components involved. However, Lucas showed up at my originally scheduled time, got me a discount to make up for the communication/transparency issues, and he was friendly, fast, and effective. read more

We had a new garage door with all the trimmings installed recently. I can't say enough about what a professional company this is. The estimate was fair, they were very prompt and were a pleasure to deal with. They cleaned up like they were never there and we received thorough instructions on how to care for our new door! I wouldn't hesitate recommending them to anyone. In fact a number of our friends are now interested in calling them. read more

My fiancé was attempting to install an exterior lock on our sliding doors and accidentally dropped the original locking mechanism into the door. We tried everything to get the lock out, but to no avail. After multiple calls to contractors, a visit from one who couldn't fix it and many days of securing our door with a pole, we called Thunder Garage Door Repair. Lucas came and worked on my door for about 2-3 hours, and we came to the realization that the builder used a very specific part that is no longer standard. After trying his best, he recommended I order that part and assured me that he would be the technician who comes back to install it. Sure enough, Lucas came back and installed the original inner locking mechanism, along with the exterior one we were hoping to install in the first place. It took him about 15mins with the proper part and my house is secure again! The thing that really sets this company apart is Lucas' positive attitude, the education he provides and his work ethic! You could tell that he had a really busy schedule that day and he still took the time to help me finish 2 other projects on the way out the door. The receptionist is also very friendly and responsive. I will absolutely use this company in the future and you should too! Thanks Lucas. read more

I had been trying to fix my Genie garage door after it suddenly stopped working. I called Thunder based on review and descriptions of Knowing Genie door systems. In the end the Genie customer service Phone number called was far better and more helpful. Thunder tried to sell me a whole new system for twice as much as Amazon. We were looking for estimates to get our garage doors serviced and one side was missing a safety sensor and needed a new Opener. We'd gotten two estimates (the first company showed up an hour late without calling), the second one being from Thunder Garage Door Repair. Adam not only showed up during the time window I was given, but he called when he was on the way. His estimate was a little higher than the first one we had gotten and after speaking with his manager, they priced matched the first offer. He came ready to work and 90 minutes later, we had a new, very quiet, garage door opener and both doors freshly serviced. Adam left our garage clean and made sure we understood how to use the features of the new garage door opener before he left. He was also very friendly and courteous. We will definitely use this company again if we every have any garage door related issues. Thank you so much Adam! read more

I just moved into my new place a couple weeks ago and had a heck of a time trying to change the locks by myself. Yesterday I requested a bid and had the job finished today! They were quick to respond to my quote request, quick to set up an appointment, and showed up first thing this morning to get the job done. Lucas and Dean were very kind, polite, and professional. I needed a special part for the door lock and the went out and came back in less than a couple hours and finished the job for me so I wouldn't have to wait until tomorrow. I needed a last-minute appointment on Saturday to change all the locks on my rental property. I was worried about it being the weekend but Thunder sent Luca within the hour, and he was absolutely wonderful! He re-keyed all of the doors within 45 minutes, was conscientious about taking his shoes off before coming inside in order to keep the carpets clean, and was completely professional with transparent and reasonable pricing. Luca even helped me put in a new air filter for my HVAC because I'm too short and didn't have a ladder and he could see I was stressed. What a peach! Would 100% recommend and I will definitely be using Thunder GD&LS again in the future. read more
