The repair they did stopped working after like 2 weeks. The garage door wouldn't close properly. It would go half way and open again. I researched online and found the problem was due to incorrect spring tension. Called them, repair guy came and told I have to get the opener replaced. But there was nothing wrong with opener. Quoted another $800 for this new repair. I requested him to adjust spring tension and he wouldn't. So I told him to leave. I think they intentionally did a low spring tension during the original repair so that they would get called back during warranty period. They tried to sell unnecessary repairs and make more money. A few weeks later the opener fell off the ceiling and crashed onto my car, causing damage that will cost over $4,000 to repair. Despite vague promises on two occasions to pay the cost of the repair, no follow up. Now they take the position that I "accepted" the work and they are not responsible for the damage and will not even refund any of the purchase price. They claim to be bonded and insured, but I checked with the Oregon Construction Contractor's Board for a bond and found no registration for Ben's Garage & Gates. There was a registration for Abraham Bar Lyani, the apparent owner of Ben's, but it was suspended according to CCB because "insurance not on file."
