Dotan and his company are terrific! Our garage door abrubtly stopped working yesterday and I called/spoke to Dotan. He was able to come out later that afternoon and assess the problem (a broken main spring). He was back today with the new parts and quickly made the repairs. Quality work and fast service all at a very fair price! Dotan is very professional and truly cares about providing top notch work. Just as importantly, Dotan is very personable and a really nice person! John D. read more

When I needed a new garage door opener installed, I contacted D Bar Garage doors. A technician came out and installed the opener that I had. I have dealt with a lot of service persons over the years - the installer was a rarity: very knowledgeable, meticulous, efficient. Then the spring broke on the door, 6 months later. Spoke with the owner, who was out the following afternoon. Just as knowledgeable, meticulous and efficient as his installer. Both times: very satisfied. Competitive prices; best service I've ever had with garage door needs. read more

I had a fantastic experience with D-Bar Garage today. I called and spoke with Dotan about an issue I was having with my garage door. He was incredibly professional and helpful right from the start. As I explained the problem, instead of immediately scheduling a service call, Dotan took the time to understand the situation and ended up recommending a simple DIY fix that I could do myself, saving me both time and money. While the solution was simple, it's the kind of fix you'd only know with experience and deep knowledge of how these systems work. It is so rare to find a business that offers free, honest advice over the phone when they could have easily charged for a service call. This level of integrity and customer-first attitude is truly exceptional. I am so appreciative of Dotan's help and honesty. Because of this outstanding experience, I will be recommending D-Bar Garage to all of my friends and family. They have earned a customer for life! read more

Excellent experience with D Bar garage doors!!! The owner, Dotan answered my call right away. He offered to help me try to fix my garage door issue over the phone and avoid a service call. He was knowledgeable and patient and helped me fix a few issues. Ultimately, he came out the same day and fixes things I was not able to fix, and did a great job. It's so refreshing to work with an honest, friendly and knowledgeable pro. I would never call anyone else! I highly recommend D Bar. read more

Dotan and his team were great! He gave us a honest and fair price on our new garage door. The job was done super quick, and the owner was very communicative about the price, timing of the job, and arrival window. Our technician was super nice and hooked us up with a garage door opener. The customer service was top notch and we are really happy with our new door! I highly recommend D Bar. read more

D Bar has helped us out with two different garage door issues, and been terrific both times. Clear and effective communication (a video call helped identify the problem), speedy scheduling, reasonable pricing, and a really good person. I'd also add that, with no men in our family, we're pretty used to contractors or fix-it folks who either over-explain or under-explain the problem, stand very close, or otherwise create a weird and off-putting dynamic. D Bar is consistently respectful, engaging, practical, and very good at "reading the room." read more

One call to Dotan of D Bar Garage doors and I was scheduled as an asap job. He was very polite and diagnosed why my garage door was not working. (The tension spring and cables snapped). Dotan explained everything he would like to do, and a few suggestions on how I could lengthen the life of my door. He was finished with the job in a way shorter time than I expected. The cost of the whole job was very reasonable too. If your garage door needs a little help, this is the company to call. read more

Chose this company because of the good reviews but had quite an unsettling experience. Two men came out to fix the spring on my one car garage and quoted me $475. I'm a single mom and needed it done but realized quickly they were over-charging me. Immediately I told the men I found it for $350 and they said they would have to call their boss to get it that low. One made a phone call, came back and said "the lowest we can do it $395". I responded saying I will go with another company. He then told me he would be charging me a $95 service charge for coming out (this is something they never told me about, nor did I agree to). He called his boss again and came back to tell me he could do $350 and asked if it would be "cash or check". (Their website says they take cards). So many red flags. My friend then called the company's main number and they quoted her "$350 out the door". These men see a young single mom and try to take advantage by charging her $125 more. They complete the job and come to collect pay. Before I paid, I asked for a receipt and the guy tries to send me a text message receipt! I said "Absolutely not. This looks incredibly sketchy and there is no reason you cannot give me a paper receipt". So he calls his boss again and comes back with a formal receipt. SUPER SKETCHY AND TRIED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ME. read more

Our garage door started opening extremely slowly on a Saturday. I called D Bar and spoke with Dotan, who was incredibly helpful and friendly. He confirmed over the phone that it was a broken spring. Dotan came out himself on Monday and replaced the springs in under an hour. It was the most pleasant experience I've had with a business owner in quite some time. Not only was Dotan an excellent human being, but his work was superb. The total cost ended up being a couple of hundred dollars less than one of their local competitors. I can't say enough about D Bar's quality and value. If you ever have any issues with your garage door, do yourself a favor and call Dotan and D Bar. You won't regret it. read more

If you need service on your garage door, READ THIS! D. Bar Garage Doors is the best garage door company out there. in my opinion, of course. The owner, Dotan Bar, was here quickly, fixed our door in a matter of minutes and, as it only needed a few adjustments, did NOT try to rip us off on new parts. The last few times I needed service, I was not happy with the people or the cost. Dotan charged what felt like a very reasonable fee for his service. He is fair and cares about getting it "right," which isn't always the case with some of these larger companies. Also, Dotan is very personable. Some might say, "who cares about someone's personality when they're just fixing your garage door?". Well, when someone shows up on my doorstep to do work for me, that plays into it. By the time he left, I wanted to invite his entire family over for dinner! Great service, quality work and great value. + personality. Look no further. read more

Our garage door started going extremely slow and then stopping about 2 ft up. Called Precision who installed the doors, who could only schedule a week out and couldn't give me any guidance. I called D Bar and Dotan picked up. He asked me to describe the issue, and then asked that I walk out to the garage with him on the phone. Within a minute we diagnosed the issue, and he was out 2 days later with the new springs. Replaced all at a very reasonable price and tightened all the bolts on both of the doors (including the one he didn't work on). He was extremely friendly, hard working and will definitely be my go to call when anything goes awry in the future, or if we need a new system installed. read more

I can't say enough great things about these folks. We called them at random because we needed a new opener installed on our main garage door. They were fast friendly and affordable. They were able to answer questions about garage door programming even a year after installation. When it came time to add an opener to our 2nd door we called them and had a similar experience to the 1st. We had them come back to fix an issue with the 2nd door closing roughly. They were out and got it fixed the same day even though it was an existing condition not related to the opener. That is amazing customer service. They didn't have to do that, but they earned a customer for life. All I can do to pay them back is recommend them to others. Thanks again to the guys at D Bar! read more

I have given a few five star reviews before but for DBar if there was six stars I would give it. Dotan was here at my home six years ago troubleshooting my original solid wood 50+ year old garage door and installed a new opener which still works perfectly to this day. Fast forward to December when the Winter Storm here in Portland froze everything and caused our original door here to fail crack and break in all sorts of ways. I was out of town and my wife was stranded with a broken door in the cold with two kids. I called Dotan from abroad to see if he could come by that day to see if he could find a resolution as my wife was leaving town the next day. Dotan picked up on the first call and said he could come by within the hour to help out. Long story short the door was broken and needed to be replaced. We ordered a new custom door with all the bells and whistles. His team gave us tons of information, flexibility in choices, and patience while making this decision. His install team was prompt, professional, and experts of their craft. They disassembled the old door and installed the new door which was tricky due to the height and width of our original garage. Dotan also came out personally himself at the end, with his kind smile and generous spirit and oversaw the finishing touches on the instillation, asking if we had any questions, explaining our warranty, and assuring us to call if we have any questions or problems. We are in love on how the new garage door looks and performs. It really adds a lot of value to the curb appeal of the home and fits perfect with our 100+ year old Tudor. read more

Three cheers for the D Bar team! Last night our garage door spring broke, leaving us no way to raise or lower the door. This morning I called a bunch of places and most of them sent me to an answering service who transferred me to another answering service. When I finally got to a humanoid, at least I think she was human, it asked where I lived - and I replied "Oregon City", she then asked "What state is that in?" Holy crap!! There was a lot of stupidity on the line. When I called D Bar, the owner answered! Fortunately, reaching and speaking with him convinced me that I needed to look no further. Furthermore, the team was able to come out and install new springs the same day - and on time! Skyler and his associate were very friendly and outgoing - and most of all, professional. Their work was done very well and they completed the repairs in a very timely fashion. Customer service is number one in my book, and D Bar Garage Door company exemplifies what customer service is all about. I highly recommend them! read more

D Bar team to the rescue! Last night our garage door got off track leaving me unable to reopen it. When I finally called D Bar, the owner answered! he was at my house within 20 minutes and had my door back on track and with a new walk station and new remote In less than an hour. Very friendly and outgoing - and most of all, professional And respectful. The work was done very well. Fast, friendly, knowledge, reasonable price. We needed a new garage door opener (whole system), and D Bar gave us a great quote. The work was done in just a couple of hours, and they took the time to explain to us some of the tips and tricks for our new system. They also pointed out the issues with our current door, which we could already see where there but didn't really understand why they were happening, so we appreciated them explaining things more deeply to us. Definitely recommend, and we plan on going to them when we eventually get our door replaced. read more

I needed commercial size springs replaced on a residential RV garage door. No other place in the Portland metro area could source them for me over the course of 9 months. Not only did D Bar find them within 24 hours of my call, but they replaced them within 48 hours of my call and charged me exactly how much I had been quoted by other places in summer/fall of 2021 (and considering inflation over the subsequent 9 months, this was fair pricing). The tech(s) took good care of my home (having to walk through my carpeted basement with an oversized ladder while not banging into my walls to access the garage since the door wouldn't open), was friendly and communicated everything well, and did a great and quick job at both service calls (measuring and repairing). Thank you SO much, D Bar! I definitely recommend this company. read more

Dotan and his team did an excellent job with our garage doors. From the very beginning with the quote we could tell this was the right company to use. We had a fairly complex request and Dotan had great suggestions for making everything work perfectly. We have regular height garage doors but a tall garage and we wanted the garage doors to use the vertical space so as not to waste useable space in our garage but without using ugly commercial roller doors. My husband also wanted the garage to be weather sealed and insulated. Dotan recommended high quality steel doors that look beautiful and will last a lifetime, plus they did the complicated installation perfectly! We couldn't be happier with our new doors, they brighten up the garage and make it a nice place to be. Highly recommend D Bar garage doors! read more

Excellent experience all around with the D Bar Garage Door team. Dotan was incredibly patient walking us through the options, understood our budget concerns, and at no time did we feel like we were getting nickel-and-dimed. Scheduling with Amanda was a breeze. I recently moved into a house flip that had an old, dented garage door that wouldn't seal. I found several different garage door / repair companies on Yelp. I had 4 different companies come by for estimates. Of the four, D Bar Garage provided the most professional estimates and answered all of my questions thoroughly and promptly and provided a very clear estimate of both parts and labor costs. Although D Bar Garage Doors was not the lowest estimate, I felt most comfortable working with them. The day of the installation, two technicians, Shaun and Jay arrived on time and got to work disassembling the old garage door. Both men worked almost 9 hours to remove all of the old equipment and install the new garage door. Towards the end of the day, Dotan (the owner) came by to go over the final invoice and inspect the installation. I'm ecstatic with the appearance and the function of the new garage door. Everyone at D Bar were very detail oriented. Shaun and Jay even waited until Dotan showed up to install the weather stripping because they didn't have any black nails with them and they didn't want white nails to ruin the esthetic of the door. Shaun, Jay, and Dotan hauled away all of the old door and the packing materials and left my garage as clean as it was when they had started. Even though it was getting late in the day, I asked Dotan if he could re-key one of my doors to match the keys for the other doors (I noticed the logo on Dotan's vehicle stated he was also a locksmith). Dotan didn't hesitate at all and re-keyed both garage door locks. read more

The torsion spring on my 2-car garage door broke over the weekend. Heck, I didn't even realize that was a thing. I checked yelp and called D Bar because of the great reviews that people have posted. I talked to Dotan over the phone, and he reassured me that it was an expected occurrence and that it was a completely straightforward task to put in a replacement. I described the garage door and Dotan gave me a ballpark range for how much it should cost to replace the spring. He also pointed out that there really should be two springs on a door of that size and that one might have broken before we bought the house and never been replaced. The quote seemed reasonable so we scheduled a visit for the next day. As promised, the team called me from the work van as they left their previous job to let me know they were on their way. They showed up right on time took a look at the broken spring. Skyler (I hope I'm spelling his name right) talked to the shop on the phone and gave me a quote, which matched up with the ballpark range Dotan had provided the previous night. When I approved the quote they got right to work. The guys were super friendly and knowledgeable, and were quite happy to answer my questions as they worked. The got done, cleaned up the workspace, and were on their way to the next job within an hour after thanking me for the business. Overall, I can't think of anything that they could have done better. They even lubricated the springs and hinges on my other garage door before they left. The newly repaired door does what garage doors are supposed to do, and seems quieter than before as well. I will happily call D Bar again if I need any other repair work done or a garage door replaced. read more

They were very covid conscious, wearing their masks. They were prompt in installing the door, despite having a minor setback through no fault of theirs or mine. I enjoyed Dothan's insight into what would look good on our home and we were so happy to be rid of our 40+year old door! read more

The torsion spring on my condo's door decided to break. I scanned Yelp and found D Bar Garage Doors with very positive reviews. Speaking with Dotan on the phone, he made it very clear that he didn't want me to spend unnecessarily. He made it clear that they would make sure that we made the garage door right without going wild. The team arrived on time on a VERY hot day. They examined the issue, explained what would need to happen and got to work immediately. It took them about an hour to remove the broken spring mechanism and fabricate a new, much more beefy spring setup. They also tightened the chain, lubricated all moving parts, adjusted the drive unit down to lower the opening and closing pressure. Dotan briefed me on proper programming of the controllers as well. I felt that the service was superb, no pressure, very upright, and to the point. On one hand, I hope to not have to use anyone to service the garage door BUT...if I do...I'm calling D Bar Garage Doors without hesitation. Thanks for a great job guys! read more
